I especially LOVED the topic on staying motivated. It was so reassuring to see someone so well respected in the blog world also loses their motivation at times! That is something I now understand EVERYONE struggles with! I’m slowly learning to not become so hard on myself when I dont’ run or workout 7 days a week!
What I like most about your blog is the positive message and the honesty. I appreciate hearing about exercise slumps, because I’ve been there too. I also appreciate the positive outlook your blog exudes. It’s a pleasure read.
My favorite thing about the SGBC was writing the letter to my body. I never ever do this kind of thing b/c I always think, what’s the point, but I was determined to fully participate in this boot camp so I wrote the letter and it made me feel so good! It also made me realize a lot of things about myself and how I neglect myself but I’m also right there when other people need me. It will be a slow process, but I’m really working on giving myself as much case as I do other people. Thanks Angela!!
I have enjoyed reading all the posts, but the one that really continues to resonate with me is the Dear Body post. Every time I hear my negative thoughts creep in I remember your post and I stop to appreciate one thing about my body. I have also loved the exercise posts. I have added some in to my routine to mix things up.
I loved reading all the different views on exercising and eating right. I will never look at it the same. Thanks!
I just love your upbeat attitude. And I’ve gotten some really great tips on cross-training/ walking on the treadmill at an incline that have helped my running immensely without getting bored.
I hope you’ll have something fun and exciting up on OhSheGlows soon because SGBC was so fun and inspiring!! My favourite post was the 3 core blasters by Guest Poster Jodie. I did them IN my office at work throughout the day and loved it!! (I also loved your apricot sorbet recipe… can’t try to make it!)
Thanks for the chance to enter the Amazing Grass Giveaway :)
It has been inspirational even though I couldn’t participate as much as I would have liked due to an injury.
I have a couple favorite posts – your recap posts after your 10 mile race. The feeling of accomplishment that you projected through your blog was inspiring. It reminded me how much I love running, and why I do it. It also psyched me up for my 10-miler in October, and my half marathon in December. Excellent motivation! I hope I win this, I’m dying to try Amazing Grass!
SGBC & your post “Dear Body” has immensely helped me not be as critical of myself. It’s been a rough road, but I am finally realizing just how amazing my body is.
Anything that has to do with cooking. I made my first larabar a couple of weeks ago and I think they came out great. I think I may have put to many almonds in, but it was still delish. And of course, the GM’s…….you can’t make a GM without Amazing Grass.
This might be really boring, but I never realized the finer points of hydration and how it affects one’s performance. That was a really informative article to me.
Thanks Angela!
I agree that learning to love the journey has impacted me the most. Things don’t just happen overnight and even the small steps count!
Happy 9 Months, Angela! What an accomplishment :-)
I loved following SGBC because it gave me a healthy “to-do” item per day. It was fun to go through the calendar and cross off each day, giving me a sense of pride that I invested the time and energy in a great cause – myself!
Also posted on Twitter @lauramke20.
Cheers!
SGBC and your blog keep me motivated in my pursuit of healthy living. Thanks!
I have a large number of posts by you that I enjoy. The one that I Usually dig ou from the archive whenever I need a reminder is the post with the letter to your current self. It’s one of the many posts that reminds me that loving my self is the first step to a future that I want for myself. It reminds me that all this work to be healthy is because I want myself to be healthy.
Other favorites are your health related articles such as the healthy diet trends and the running and heat. Though those don’t hold a candle next to your personal letter to your current self.
you go angela!!!!!!!!!!!
:)
SGBC has made me realize a lot of things.
My entire life I have struggled with negative self talk and not appreciating everything my body has done for me and gotten me through.
This month has been such an amazing month in terms of making HUGELY MASSIVE progress in accepting myself and my surroundings. I can take a step backward from a stressful situation and determine what is underlying my negative self talk. Am I stressed at work? Am I forgetting to take time each day for myself?
I am also in the process of giving up calorie counting and this month, with the help of the constant healthy reminders of SGBC, I am able to stop looking at food as my enemy and I am beginning to make peace with the choices I make.
Thanks to you and the blog for being such a huge part of this!
SGBC really hit home with the “Dear Body” letter….and the Exercise and Hydration posting. (although I actually loved it all!)
This was a great opportunity overall for me to really feel positive about myself and boost my confidence.
Thanks Angela!
