Good morning!
I hope you are all off to a great start this weekend! Thanks for all of your votes in last night’s poll- how fun! :)
Today, we are going to start off with Summer Glow Boot Camp!
The wonderful Stacy is our fabulous guest poster, exercise-diva today! She has a great blog called Deliciously Healthy Everyday– go over and check it out!
She was so eager to participate when I made the casting call. She sent me tons of awesome exercises along with pictures, so you can expect to see more from Stacy over this month! :)
Today, we are going to work on our balance! It is often an area of exercise that I totally neglect I will admit.
For the first exercise, try to complete 2-3 sets of 15 reps each. For the last two, hold the pose as long as you can (you should be shaking like a leaf!). :)
Balance Moves:
1. Airplane
Begin with one foot on folded towel, raise opposite leg up until thigh is parallel to floor. Pause here for a second.
Sweep your leg back and straight keeping your arms out to the side like an airplane. The shot is somewhat dark, but my back leg is sticking straight out behind me. Complete all reps on one leg, then switch sides.
2. Tree Pose
Place one foot on folded towel. Take your other foot and place it on your opposite inner thigh. If you have good enough balance place your arms straight overhead, otherwise keep your arms out to the side as pictured. Hold for as long as you can, then switch sides. Make sure to keep your abs nice and tight!
3. Sideways Reach
Place right foot on folded towel. Reach left leg straight and out to the side, with left hand on hip and reach right hand down toward the ground. Hold for as long as you can, then switch sides. Keep your obliques engaged to hold your upper leg still.
Awesome balance moves! Thanks Stacy! :)

As you know, we are off to a wedding today! I got up early this morning so I could squeeze in a great workout. I always try my best to get in a tough workout before a big event where I know I will be splurging!
The workout:
- 60 min. treadmill hill workout, speed 4.3 mph, incline 15%
- Max heart rate: 171 bpm
- Avg heart rate: 155 bpm
It was an awesome workout! I will be doing these balance moves tomorrow because I have just run out of time! I also am planning on my long run tomorrow. It will be my last long run before the 10-miler. I am not 100% sure I will be doing the 10-miler yet seeing as my longest run has been just over 6 miles lately, but we’ll see :) I will play it by ear! So please hold me accountable tomorrow for my long run. I am likely going to be VERY tired post-wedding, but I’ll have to dig deep! lol.
Oh and yesterday was an off-day for exercise! I was NOT feeling it at all yesterday! Always best to listen to my body, that is for sure. :)

So what am I wearing tonight??
I decided I am going with the first black dress #1, and here is why:
While I like the blue dress very much for the fit and the colour, I decided (and agreed with many of you) that it is a bit too casual. Actually, once I saw the pictures on my post I realized that dresses 2, 3, and 4 were all too casual. I should have mentioned that this is an evening wedding (well, late afternoon but still) AND the weather is cool and rainy today, so I think black is ok. It is also my nicest dress by far and the one that I feel most comfortable in. I think feeling comfortable in what I am wearing is KEY. Nothing is worse than wearing a dress that you feel is too short or you don’t look right in! :)
I am also not part of the camp that thinks that you can’t wear black to a wedding. I see lots of women wearing black to weddings now. The only colours I think are off-limits are white (I feel very strongly about this one!! Maybe this is the old-school part of me!) and really, really bold dresses. I thought about the colour dresses more and I concluded that the pink one was too ‘look at me’. I also thought the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th dresses were a bit short. The black one is much more classy on me and I won’t have to worry about pulling it down.
Eric’s vote was the first black one because it looked the classiest he said. :)
Here are the Brands:
Dress #1- BCBG (I got it for $130 at a discount outlet BCBG store last summer)
Dress # 2, 3, 4- All from Costa Blanca and all dresses were under $30! Actually, after I tried on the blue one again, I noticed that some threads were coming out of it and the back of the zipper ‘popped off’ my back. It didn’t fit me right and I just didn’t feel ‘wow’ in it! Now with the black dress, I feel that the fabric is so luxurious and it just drapes over my body in a nice, feminine way. While I REALLY wish the dress wasn’t black, it will have to do!
Speaking of colour, I have found a fun way to add a POP of colour that I think you will all like! Stay tuned tomorrow to see what I did!
Oh and the shoes are from ‘Spring’ and I got them on sale for $19.99 when I bought them. :)

Well, I need to go get ready! Ah! I just LOVE weddings!!! I get so weepy and emotional, haha. I am so excited for our friends Jen and Marcus. Wait til you see how beautiful they are!!! Eric has known Jen since grade 9 and I have known her since grade 12. I love her!
I also don’t think I am going to be able to curl my hair today since it is raining.
Rain + humidity + curls = Super frizzy hair on Ange’s head!!!
I will likely dry it with a round brush and call it a day.
See you tomorrow for a fun recap! I am going to try my best to take pictures of everything I eat! :)
I will also be announcing the winner of the Glo Bakery goodie pack!
Hope you had fun at the wedding!!
btw not sure if this makes you feel any better but my longest run was 8.5 miles before my half. Probably not the best idea but I think the furthest I would go next time is 10 miles. I’m betting you could pull off the 10 mile race easily!
