I liked the 10 minute workout session. Love things short, sweet & to the point.
But your Dear Body letter really made me stop and think. We take ourselves for granted so often and rarely give ourselves the respect we deserve.
I loved the whole series, but the one that hit home was the one about hydration. I had been training for my first 1/2 marathon and on my long rund days once I hit past 7 miles I was getting some serious leg cramps. I was finding that I was not hydrated enough and then that was one of your topics! It was so helpful!
Loved the “Dear Body” letters and guest posts! Tons of great info!!
Ah, prepare yourself for a lengthy comment.
My memorable moment is probably similar to others. You know, you read a lot how positivity effects you, and to be more positive, but I never really did anything about it.. much. I’d try, but my positivity would wane down over a week or two. In comes SGBC, and I thought.. This is it. I’m sick of being a Negative Nancy! After seeing the schedule, I knew I’d have plenty reminders to keep up my good work. I just needed to do it for 21 days to make it a habit. So I did.
A lot of things happened this month. I got my first job, I lost my first job (within 6 days, at that!), I thought my boyfriend died, I made things awkward and uncomfortable for my boyfriend, I lost a few friends, I gained some new ones. Can I say I cried a few times? I did. But I think SGBC really impacted my life. I didn’t lay in bed with a blank expression wishing I had the guts to kill myself. I didn’t have trouble sleeping. I was exercising consistently. I did fumble with eating every now and then, but I was motivated to atleast TRY to take care of myself the best I could when things got rough.
Being a teenage girl is hard, man. I think the best impact in my life to try harder to reach physical and mental well being has been OSG. SGBC just challenged me even more.
This was a personal conquest. Did I reach a level of positivity? Did I fuel up right? Did I get out there and move to my heart’s desire? Hell. Yes.
That’s a prize in of itself, and I’m grateful. (Cue the cheesy music and view of people in the crowd looking towards a flag with pride and tears in their eyes.)
The best posts in the bunch were the new exercise routines, how to keep motivation, and of course the love-your-body posts! It really helped me, and I actively participated in them on my own. I think even though SGBC is done and over with, I’ve got enough body lovin’, fuel packin’, core strengthining to keep with me as a habit. One of the best habits I’ve ever developed, I must say!
Me and my newfound self-esteem and well being are going to go relax in the sun now. We’re totally BFFs now. :P
In all seriousness: Thank you Angela. <3
I love the core exercises, i can really feel a difference when i run, i feel stronger and more relaxed.
What a great way to end the SGBC! I have to say, this blog has been such a joy for me to read. You cover such important topics and always see the many sides to each issue. You give your opinions, but allow us to make our own. The vibe on OSG is what really draws me in! The positive, upbeat attitude you keep makes reading such a pleasure. I think my favorite topic was the fueling for exercises (just becasue it was so interesting and somewhat surprising!) and also hearing all of your green smoothie recipes. I have so many great ideas to try out! :)

OSG has very positively affected my life! Never in a million years would I have thought about adding spinach (OR KALE!) to a smoothie – but thanks to you – I’ve not only tried it, but tried it and LOVED IT! :)
I’d love to try Amazing Grass! It’s not available for sale in our city and I’ve really wanted to give it a shot.
Thanks Angela for all your hard work!
The SBGC has helped me to get out of the routine and try new exercises. I have also learned tons about myself and my body!
I’ve really learned how to love and respect my body!
Wow. So much accomplished in just 9 months!
I love all of the new exercises. And I’d love to win some amazing grass!
My favourite posts have been the ones about your races (especially the 10-miler!) as I am able to live vicariously through you!
Your post on going make-up free really resonated with me. Leaving the house sans make-up for the first time was a bit terrifying, but now I can’t even remember what I was so afraid of!
SGBC has had so many great posts but I liked “Learning to Love the Journey” the most. It helped remind me that sometimes it’s not just the end result that matters, it’s the little acheivements along the way too! Thanks for a month of such great information!
SGBC has made me realize how important my body is- it is strong and takes me where I need to go! I am so grateful that you started SGBC, I learned so much about what my body can do and I learned to appreciate it very much!
My favorite posts are about your running and the glow bakery. It’s neat to see how you are going about launching your business and creating all these yummy bars!
I stumbled upon your blog during a study break (I’ve been holed-up in my room for 2 months studying for the Texas Bar exam). I was tired and felt like my body was craving nutrients. Enter Amazing Grass! I was floored by how good the green monsters tasted and LOVE them. They give me a boost of energy and made me feel much better. Also, I was craving a good workout session, but time was of the essence. I was so happy when you posted the 10 minute circuit. It got my blood moving and was perfect for me. Thanks, Angela!
SGBC has made me realize and appreciate all my body does for me :) Sometimes I focus on what I can’t do, instead of what I can.
What I love most is just reading everyone’s responses to all the questions you ask. I think this kind of community is really inspiring and it’s so great to know there are so many other people out there who are thinking about the same things as me because in the real world sometimes it seems like I am the only one who is aware of health, nutrition, my body, etc.
the biggest thing for me was definitely the I Am the Beholder ab workout.. that was killer and hence I started doing it all the time!!
