Hey there!
Just when I thought I couldn’t be MORE grossed out by public pools you guys have to scare me more! Oh man. It will seriously be like Fear Factor when I stick my toe into that water…
I hope you are having a good Wednesday. :) Today has been a busy one…another training day, orders completed, and lots of business stuff going on. Git er done…!
Lunch consisted of leftovers…
I simply took my lentil Neat Sauce out of the freezer and it thawed in the fridge overnight.
My fridge has certainly been working for me overnight lately…from Vegan Overnight Oats to de-thawing the next day’s food. ;)
This portion is about 2 cups worth, so I split it into 2 lunches.
With some discounted organic celery- which might I add, still has a lot of life left in it!
I actually got up and grabbed the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for a dip. :) Celery is just…plain on its’ own.
Dessert- Dried organic apricots. One of my all time favourite snacks…
Dinner was leftovers from last night’s Feelin’ Good Stew. I just love this stew! I was looking forward to it all day.
I love the addition of the quinoa in this stew…I’m so glad I threw it in on a whim! It really bulked it up.
Dessert was a tablespoon of organic dark chocolate chips and 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil melted in the micro.
Random yet blissful.
Eric and I just got back from a visit to a sports store where I tried on 1 piece swimsuits (for triathlon training) and padded bike shorts. I left feeling like a 7 year old with a diaper issue. Hopefully I have more luck at the next store!
I really need to get used to the idea of wearing a 1 piece swimsuit again. I actually laughed when I tried one on and looked in the mirror. Seven year old or a grown woman, I couldn’t be sure…
Tonight’s question- Do you own a swimsuit and if so, what kind(s) do you rock? 1 piece, bikini, tankini, thong, bikini, speedo…? ;)
Any suggestions for a killer training swimsuit?
Also if you’d like to win a bag of premium chia seeds from Chia Seeds Direct, give me your best tip for SWIMSUIT CONFIDENCE below! Open to Canadian and US residents only please. Contest closes Thursday at 5pm EST.
My best tip for swimsuit confidence is to rock what your mama gave you. No one else has YOUR unique body so go show it off and strut your stuff. Be proud of who you are and how hard you work each day to keep yourself healthy and fit.
On that note, I’m going to pass out on the couch…it has been a long day! Can’t wait to snuggle my man and watch some Marriage Ref (Tom Papa we love u!).
Have a great night. :)

Find a bathing suit that is comfortable and doesn’t fall off or hang strangely. Just wear it with pride and be so grateful that you are letting yourself enjoy the water, the swim, the sun, and everything else that comes with wearing a bathing suit!
i got the one piece suit i use for lap swimming at sports basement :)
i remembered the swim team wearing simple blue suits, so i got one myself to make me feel like i’m faster and know what i’m doing!!
I say find one that accents a part of you are proud of…
Always remember: You are worried about how you look, but everyone else is worried about how they look, probably too much to even notice how you look. :)
Your blog never fails to amaze and inspire me. Tonight I ran the 10k distance for the first time in my entire 27 years on this planet. Even though it took me 1 hr and a half, I finished feeling AMAZING! That has a been a huge lesson for me to learn over the years, not to compare myself to other people. I have to improve myself and not be focused on anyone else or how much faster or thinner or smarter they may be than me. My 1.5 hour 10k was slow for some people, but it was a huge milestone for me!
So that’s my bathing suit confidence tip…you can’t compare yourself to anyone else. Angela could beat me in a race and rock out a bikini that would make me (the mother of 2) look absurd! But we can’t be bathing suit shopping based on other people or feeling badly about our bodies because we don’t look as good as others do in a particular swim suit. Go out, take your time, try on a million and one bathing suits, toss aside the ones that just don’t flatter you (without a second thought, and without getting down on yourself), and pick out the swim suit that flatters YOUR body and makes YOU feel like a million dollars! You deserve to feel good about yourself at the pool because you’re amazing!
My best tip is don’t compare yourself to other women!
You should definitely check out swimoutlet.com!! I’m on my high school’s swim team and I got a bunch of cute practice suits from there! They even have cute two pieces that will not fall off when you dive in :) the suits are usually discount prices as well! I would definitely recommend it.
My best swimsuit advice would be to stand tall, smile, and look like you’re brewing with self-confidence!
Thanks! I love your blog!
My tip is to try on lots and lots of swimsuits. It is a very painful process I admit but when you find that one that fits just right and is the perfect colors and is sooo flattering (at least comparatively) it’s worth it :)
Just remember how amazing each part of your body is, your legs allow you to run and run and run (or in this case swim and swim and swim), your arms help mix and create delicious and good for you globars that help keep others fit and healthy, and your smile melts your husband’s heart.
i normally buy bathing suits online and try them on in the comfort of my own home. not a confidence thing but they always look cuter there than hunting around shops for them!
i get my confidence by being in the water – i’m a huge surfing addict (how good i am a surfer is TBD!). feeling and being active while wearing as small a bikini as possible gives me confidence!
My best swimsuit advice is to try on many different styles and pick the one YOU feel most comfortable in. If you’re constantly picking and pulling at in while trying it on in the store, you’ll probably be doing the same thing when you wear it at the beach. When you finally find the suit that you feel comfortable in, wear it with pride and show off your beautiful body. Remember, even supermodels don’t look like “that” in real life!!!
whenever i’m struggling with bikini body confidence, i remind myself how sad i would be if i kept myself from fun activities like the beach, hot tub, etc. just because i was unsure of my looks. i would much rather rock allllll that my mama gave me and have a good time :)
Oh my goodness – it is very hard to think about sporting a 1-piece!! I think it will help you feel more legit as your training though :)
My swimsuit tip: By it at Winners and put on self tanner. I love the tanners from Beautisol.com – they have no stink!!
I love my nike one piece. I got it on sale at Dick’s Sporting Goods. I also Love speedo and when I swam on swim team in HS and swim club in college I rocked a TYR swim suit. expensive but they last for-ev-err.
my best swimsuit confidence: remembering that I am who I am, and to pick one thing to say nice about myself in the mirror before I leave for the beach. for example: ” Man Mare, your hips are ROCKIN’ in that bikini! You go girl!!” also, accessories. when you are matchy matchy, you automatically feel more confident :)
Smile and pretend no one’s looking!
My best tip is to love what you have and NOT compare yourself to all the other women around you! We are all unique and come in many shapes and sizes and it’s essential to not size yourself up against other women! Too often we are way too tough on ourselves. Honestly, life is too short to not embrace your body
Buy a suit in your favorite color that compliments your skin tone and eyes.
My bathing suit tip is to focus on how STRONG my body is, not how “perfect” it should be. Easier said than done, but I’ve made a lot of progress!
And my suit of choice is a bikini! Of course, I’m not training for a tri ;)
My best advice for wearing a swimsuit is to remember that everyone else is generally too worried about themselves. So strut your stuff and feel confident because girl, you look hot!!
This may not be a ‘swimsuit’ tip, but a lovely tip that I always remind myself when I want to feel beautiful..Are you ready?
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH HAPPY, POSITIVE PEOPLE!!
I always feel more beautiful when I”m around people who are smiling and happy.
My one-piece Swimsuit confidence tip is to take your first swim in it! Seriously they are amazing, no tugging or exposing or digging or anything. I think they are so flattering for their purpose, and in a pool setting, because they are so functional! And you will feel like a pro once you get those goggles on, cuz you WILL look like one!
