Hey there!
Just when I thought I couldn’t be MORE grossed out by public pools you guys have to scare me more! Oh man. It will seriously be like Fear Factor when I stick my toe into that water…
I hope you are having a good Wednesday. :) Today has been a busy one…another training day, orders completed, and lots of business stuff going on. Git er done…!
Lunch consisted of leftovers…
I simply took my lentil Neat Sauce out of the freezer and it thawed in the fridge overnight.
My fridge has certainly been working for me overnight lately…from Vegan Overnight Oats to de-thawing the next day’s food. ;)
This portion is about 2 cups worth, so I split it into 2 lunches.
With some discounted organic celery- which might I add, still has a lot of life left in it!
I actually got up and grabbed the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for a dip. :) Celery is just…plain on its’ own.
Dessert- Dried organic apricots. One of my all time favourite snacks…
Dinner was leftovers from last night’s Feelin’ Good Stew. I just love this stew! I was looking forward to it all day.
I love the addition of the quinoa in this stew…I’m so glad I threw it in on a whim! It really bulked it up.
Dessert was a tablespoon of organic dark chocolate chips and 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil melted in the micro.
Random yet blissful.
Eric and I just got back from a visit to a sports store where I tried on 1 piece swimsuits (for triathlon training) and padded bike shorts. I left feeling like a 7 year old with a diaper issue. Hopefully I have more luck at the next store!
I really need to get used to the idea of wearing a 1 piece swimsuit again. I actually laughed when I tried one on and looked in the mirror. Seven year old or a grown woman, I couldn’t be sure…
Tonight’s question- Do you own a swimsuit and if so, what kind(s) do you rock? 1 piece, bikini, tankini, thong, bikini, speedo…? ;)
Any suggestions for a killer training swimsuit?
Also if you’d like to win a bag of premium chia seeds from Chia Seeds Direct, give me your best tip for SWIMSUIT CONFIDENCE below! Open to Canadian and US residents only please. Contest closes Thursday at 5pm EST.
My best tip for swimsuit confidence is to rock what your mama gave you. No one else has YOUR unique body so go show it off and strut your stuff. Be proud of who you are and how hard you work each day to keep yourself healthy and fit.
On that note, I’m going to pass out on the couch…it has been a long day! Can’t wait to snuggle my man and watch some Marriage Ref (Tom Papa we love u!).
Have a great night. :)

I have a one piece speedo swimsuit for training – but I did invest in a ‘tri suit’ for races. It is perfect becuase you dont need to get changed for each of the legs!!
My best tip is to fake it until you make it. :) But, really, I remember that other people don’t judge us or inspect us nearly as much as we do to ourselves. I’m not letting how I look in a swimsuit keep me from enjoying the water and the sun!
Best advice, make sure you shave! And if you love it on yourself, it looks great!
Well, I don’t have swimsuit confidence, but I wish I did. Maybe if I had some chia seeds I would… :) Just rock it. And realize that really, no one will remember what you looked like later in the day. So even though it might be tough in the moment, SO MANY PEOPLE will look just as silly and probably feel just as nervous. I always think of the quote in the Princess Diaries when Mia is trying on her swimsuit and says, “I look like an asparagus.” And her mom says, “Well, yes… But a very CUTE asparagus!” :)
My best swimsuit advice is to buy one in a color or print that you LOVE! If you love the swimsuit, you will love wearing it even more and your confidence will sky rocket.
Find a suit that fits and rock it with some cool sunglasses and strappy sandals!
my confidence tip is to put your shoulders back! That’s one thing my mom always reminds me of :)
Confidence Tip(s): If you think the swimsuit is cute/hot/fun, then that’s how you will feel. There is no sense in buying an ugly suit just because it “hides” things; I think it only makes you feel bad about your body… Also, wear sunscreen! That way you can rock your body and know that you are taking fantastic care of it!!
I always try and tell myself not to care what others think about how I look in a swimsuit. The only people that are judgmental are those that have their own insecurities. Its all about being confident!
My favorite swimsuit tips are:
1. go for a basic color, like black, so it always looks classic.
2. don’t look at the size!! an ill-fitting swimsuit does no one any favors and you’ll feel a million times better in a suit that fits your form, regardless of its size. goodness knows the designer couldn’t have known someone with your exact figure would need to look like a million bucks in his/her suit, so just ignore the tag.
3. when all else fails, do some extra lunges and pushups to highlight easily toned muscles :)
Oh I so hope I win…those elusive chia seeds, I MUST try them!!
My best advice is less is not always more. Swimsuits lately have become more low cut, and more revealing up top. Some young girls think showing lots of skin = sexy, but really the key is to find something that fits YOUR body and have confidence!
Smile and have fun in your swimsuit! Watch how carefree the liitle ones running around the pool and beach are and imitate the best you can :)
For recreational swimming I wear a tankini…but for exercise I have a Speedo one-piece.
For me swimsuit confidence is about wearing what makes you comfortable…I like to wear shorts with mine so that I enjoy the swimming and not worrying about it. You need to enjoy what you have on to rock it.
Swimsuit confidence: Find a swimsuit you absolutely LOVE and you will feel great :-)
My rock it tip-rock it in your house first!! I walk around my apartment in the bikini so I get used to catching my reflection in it or even just how it feels. Then when I wear it on the beach, it’s not THAT big of deal, because I’ve already been rocking it.
My tip is to make sure there’s a bra/padding component to my suit (always a 1 piece for me). Nothing makes me more ancy at the pool than bouncy nipple-itis! Geep!
When your 80lbs overweight I don’t think you can have swimsuit confidence :-) I wore a tri-swimsuit for my OLYTRI which is tight and down to the knees. It’s suppose to reduce drag in the water.
I love how you used your leftovers! Awesome burrito!
I agree with the padding for a bathing suit (for those of us who are less endowed) but I always make sure I am wearing a bright colored suit. The bright colors make your skin look tanner and make you look slimmer, without the skin damage and crazy diets! Neon is the new black :)
Public places weird me out more and more the older I get. I hear ya!
For bathing suits, I always wear bikinis. I can’t remember the last time I had a one piece, but I wouldn’t mind getting one. Maybe a cute one-shoulder? :) Happy bathing suit shopping!
I havent bought a bathing suit in YEARS. I typically wear my old bathing suit bottoms (shorts) and whatever shirt I can find. I swim in my parents backyard so I dont worry what I look like.
My tip for bathing suit confidence is dont show more than you’re comfortable with. And dont settle for something that you feel anything less than amazing in. Be picky, and get what YOU want. Thats how you’re going to feel the most confident.
