Hey there!
Just when I thought I couldn’t be MORE grossed out by public pools you guys have to scare me more! Oh man. It will seriously be like Fear Factor when I stick my toe into that water…
I hope you are having a good Wednesday. :) Today has been a busy one…another training day, orders completed, and lots of business stuff going on. Git er done…!
Lunch consisted of leftovers…
I simply took my lentil Neat Sauce out of the freezer and it thawed in the fridge overnight.
My fridge has certainly been working for me overnight lately…from Vegan Overnight Oats to de-thawing the next day’s food. ;)
This portion is about 2 cups worth, so I split it into 2 lunches.
With some discounted organic celery- which might I add, still has a lot of life left in it!
I actually got up and grabbed the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for a dip. :) Celery is just…plain on its’ own.
Dessert- Dried organic apricots. One of my all time favourite snacks…
Dinner was leftovers from last night’s Feelin’ Good Stew. I just love this stew! I was looking forward to it all day.
I love the addition of the quinoa in this stew…I’m so glad I threw it in on a whim! It really bulked it up.
Dessert was a tablespoon of organic dark chocolate chips and 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil melted in the micro.
Random yet blissful.
Eric and I just got back from a visit to a sports store where I tried on 1 piece swimsuits (for triathlon training) and padded bike shorts. I left feeling like a 7 year old with a diaper issue. Hopefully I have more luck at the next store!
I really need to get used to the idea of wearing a 1 piece swimsuit again. I actually laughed when I tried one on and looked in the mirror. Seven year old or a grown woman, I couldn’t be sure…
Tonight’s question- Do you own a swimsuit and if so, what kind(s) do you rock? 1 piece, bikini, tankini, thong, bikini, speedo…? ;)
Any suggestions for a killer training swimsuit?
Also if you’d like to win a bag of premium chia seeds from Chia Seeds Direct, give me your best tip for SWIMSUIT CONFIDENCE below! Open to Canadian and US residents only please. Contest closes Thursday at 5pm EST.
My best tip for swimsuit confidence is to rock what your mama gave you. No one else has YOUR unique body so go show it off and strut your stuff. Be proud of who you are and how hard you work each day to keep yourself healthy and fit.
On that note, I’m going to pass out on the couch…it has been a long day! Can’t wait to snuggle my man and watch some Marriage Ref (Tom Papa we love u!).
Have a great night. :)

I agree with lots of the ladies above me – you just gotta not worry about what other people are thinking. No one is criticizing you as much as yourself so you just have to let it go and be comfortable with yourself!
For me – it’s just owning whatever type of suit you are in and whatever situation you are in. Stand tall! (You’ll obv look thinner and more confident). It’s taken a long time for me to feel okay and not cross my arms over my stomach in a suit…but I’m glad to say my suit confidence is back…and I think wearing that confidence will shine way more than any suit will. :)
Confidence is the key… even if you feel like a dork, act like you think your hot stuff and ppl will believe it! You’ll stand out if you hide behind a towel, strut your stuff :)
My tip is to choose a suit that fits nicely. Fit is very important. Once you’ve got that down, rock it!
Ahhh the lovely one piece! I think the key to confidence is to complete the outfit! :) Throw on a swim cap + goggles and you are simply going to be the hottest thing out there! Or at the least you will look like everyone else so who cares right. Be proud girl. You are strong and inspiring the world.
I wear bikinis for the beach, pool lounging, hot tubbing, etc and I’ve got a couple one piece swimsuits for swim training. Being comfortable in a swimsuit is something I’ve always battled with but we’re all our own worst critic but there’s no such thing as a perfect body. I just remind myself that I’m not the dimples in my thighs or the jiggle in my arms, I’m a whole, healthy person! Also everyone else is at the pool or beach to exercise or relax, not to judge me, so get over myself! (I love chia!!)
Swimsuit confidence is all about remembering that no one is built the same! Your body is unique and that is what makes it beautiful.
My best tip: Don’t judge a swimsuit (or your body) by how it looks in the store. Dressing room mirrors can make Gisele look like a heifer. Take a few options home and try them on there.
If all else fails, remember that most people are going to be so focused on their own body problems they’re not going to pay attention to what you think are yours.
Totally agree with the “rock what your mama gave you” sentiment. Really, that’s great advice for all the time, not just swimsuit time =)
My tip — a higher cut leg hole will make your legs look longer. If your legs are short like mine, you’ll be pleased with the optical illusion!
My tip would be to go shopping on a day when you feel great to start with! Take an honest friend and be prepared to try on ALOT OF suits! ITs not like it was 10 years ago – there are so many options now that are flattering to all different types of bodies! Its just like jeans, takes some patience and hard work!
I prefer bikinis.
My tip for rocking the swim wear is to wear something that you are comfortable, something that you feel good wearing. Comfort while strutting your stuff = confidence.
I haven’t bought a one-piece yet, but I’m starting to feel self-conscious being the only one in a (modest) bikini swimming laps in my college pool.
I am NOT self conscious in the pool area in my two piece, since I am thinking about what my body is capable of DOING. My body is STRONG, and I’d much rather have curves and strength than be “skinny-fat”
I alwyas just try and remember no matter how I perceive myself my body is strong and powerful. It is difficult, but I also try to think that my body is unique and I should be proud of how I look!
I always just try and remember no matter how I perceive myself my body is strong and powerful. It is difficult, but I also try to think that my body is unique and I should be proud of how I look!
I wear a one piece lap swimming suit. They last about a year before I need to buy a new one. I believe it’s polyester. They aren’t the most flattering but I will NOT be seen in a bikini! The downside to losing a lot of weight is the loose skin. :(
My man and I are watching playoff hockey . .. less snuggling and more on the edge of our seating . . ha ha! Bizarre since neither of us really cares about it that much. But this game is just so good! Double overtime!
I have both a one piece and a bikini (random white bottom and several different tops). I love the one piece – I feel so strong and fit when I where it . . even if I am flailing after 5 laps :) Also I’ve had two rather laughable incidents at the beach where my top either totally came off or briefly forgot what it’s job was for about 5 seconds – have to love those big waves! If it’s a 2 piece it has to be sporty – no strings please!
HEY!
I am a triathlete myself and understand that a one-piece training suit isn’t always the biggest confidence booster.
Of course , as with anything, there is mental and physical confidence boosting that must take place!
Mental: You are a fit and beautiful woman! Many women do not have the confidence it takes to wear a bathingsuit in public, that fact that you are makes you BEAUTIFUL!
Physical: Good posture, strutt your stuff! Chest out, back straight, remember all that stretching stuff your pilates teacher said? Now is the time to utilize it! Posture tip: Stick your chest out and roll your shoulders forward, while keeping your belly button tight against your back bones (this helps hold a strong core). Also, do a quick high intensity weight session prior to going out. Get that butt sore, those beautiful thighs burning, and the arms on fire! This will make you feel accomplished and strong!
REMEMBER**** Confidence is key! The ugliest person in the world can make themselves beautiful just by glowing with happiness and love!
I like to do lunges/squats because then my legs feel STRONG
There are so many bathing suits out there to choose from, sometimes it can be overwhelming! The best tip is go with a bathing suit shape that you feel most comfortable in, I have always found that jcrew’s bathing suits always fit well and they come in the cutest patterns! No matter what always know that every body is different and there is no such thing as a perfect body, we are all unique and special! Your body is strong and beautiful, when you feel good on the inside you shine on the outside : ) So rock that bathing suit with charm and a smile!
My number one tip to rock your time in a swimsuit: SMILE! I’ve felt horribly uncomfortable in my bathing suit in the past, but once I realized that enjoying myself was the most important thing, how I looked didn’t seem so important. Especially at the beach – the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and there is beautiful sand to relax on…how could you be worried about cellulite??
