Hey there!
Just when I thought I couldn’t be MORE grossed out by public pools you guys have to scare me more! Oh man. It will seriously be like Fear Factor when I stick my toe into that water…
I hope you are having a good Wednesday. :) Today has been a busy one…another training day, orders completed, and lots of business stuff going on. Git er done…!
Lunch consisted of leftovers…
I simply took my lentil Neat Sauce out of the freezer and it thawed in the fridge overnight.
My fridge has certainly been working for me overnight lately…from Vegan Overnight Oats to de-thawing the next day’s food. ;)
This portion is about 2 cups worth, so I split it into 2 lunches.
With some discounted organic celery- which might I add, still has a lot of life left in it!
I actually got up and grabbed the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for a dip. :) Celery is just…plain on its’ own.
Dessert- Dried organic apricots. One of my all time favourite snacks…
Dinner was leftovers from last night’s Feelin’ Good Stew. I just love this stew! I was looking forward to it all day.
I love the addition of the quinoa in this stew…I’m so glad I threw it in on a whim! It really bulked it up.
Dessert was a tablespoon of organic dark chocolate chips and 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil melted in the micro.
Random yet blissful.
Eric and I just got back from a visit to a sports store where I tried on 1 piece swimsuits (for triathlon training) and padded bike shorts. I left feeling like a 7 year old with a diaper issue. Hopefully I have more luck at the next store!
I really need to get used to the idea of wearing a 1 piece swimsuit again. I actually laughed when I tried one on and looked in the mirror. Seven year old or a grown woman, I couldn’t be sure…
Tonight’s question- Do you own a swimsuit and if so, what kind(s) do you rock? 1 piece, bikini, tankini, thong, bikini, speedo…? ;)
Any suggestions for a killer training swimsuit?
Also if you’d like to win a bag of premium chia seeds from Chia Seeds Direct, give me your best tip for SWIMSUIT CONFIDENCE below! Open to Canadian and US residents only please. Contest closes Thursday at 5pm EST.
My best tip for swimsuit confidence is to rock what your mama gave you. No one else has YOUR unique body so go show it off and strut your stuff. Be proud of who you are and how hard you work each day to keep yourself healthy and fit.
On that note, I’m going to pass out on the couch…it has been a long day! Can’t wait to snuggle my man and watch some Marriage Ref (Tom Papa we love u!).
Have a great night. :)

Your stew looks awesome! I swam competitively so am more confident in a one piece. For bikini confidence – there is no such thing as a perfect body and we are all unique & beautiful in our own way.
oh yes! the most inportant thing you can wear with your swimsuit is a bright dazzling thankful smile that you are physically able to even rock a swimsut!!
I wear a bikini but have been shopping around for a strapless one piece. There are so many pretty, classic styles out there! To rock swimsuit confidence, my advice is to find a suit that you LOVE and feel great wearing! Just like with clothes, you have to feel confident and comfortable what you have on. Have fun shopping Ang :)
I am learning to “embrace the pale”. I am really fair skinned. When I was young, I used to tan, but now that I am older, I do not want to do anymore damage to my skin. I am learning to embrace my body, no matter how ghostly white it looks.
Best swimsuit advice: don’t look in the mirror. Try the suit on. Move in it. Make sure it fits and that it is comfortable. Twist, bend, stoop, reach, squat. Really make sure that you love the suit. If you don’t, take it off. If you like it…THEN look in the mirror. Honestly, what is more important? How the suit feels, or what other people are going to see when they look at you?
Swimsuit confidence tip – get a suit that complements your body shape! I have a skirt tankini :-)
I decided today to do a sprint triathlon in July. I need to get A LOT of gear which has me stressed PLUS I need to take swim lessons!! I can do it, though!! :)
just don’t obsess over it and be glad that you have a healthy body to put into a bathing suit in the first place :)
My tip is to just be CONFIDENT and play up your very best assets!!
Buying a new swimsuit always helps! When you try on an old one, it might not fit or it just isn’t exciting anymore. When you have a new one to look forward to wearing then the whole experience will be so much better!
Question- Why are your dried apricots brown? The ones I get are still apricotty-colored. Have anything to do with being organic?
My tip for bathing suit confidence is sunscreen! No one looks good with a sunburn or skin cancer!
Hey, no worries about the one piece! Olympians always wear one pieces, even in practice! :)
I missed the stew last night–the quinoa addition makes it gorgeous. I love the look of cooked quinoa–like pieces of glitter or sand.
Whelps, I’m just not physically built for a bikini as my tummy has this cute little pooch that most girls don’t have. (See: Lizzie Miller picture, ie awesome plus size model in.. glamor magazine, was it? Now imagine a bigger version.)
Sooo, takinis and one pieces are my way to go! I LOVE how one pieces keep everything in, but I also like the variety of a takini.
Swimsuit confidence:
1. Buy one you like. You know, there are some really flattering plain black one piece suits you could buy. (Holla, Victoria Secret~!)
2. Remember everyone whose wearing one is too focused on what they’re doing or how they look. Honestly, no one cares.
3. Workk iiitt~! You can make anything terrible look really hot if you act like you know it looks good even if in your head you’re freaking out and second guessing yourself. It becomes natural. See: Any female, daring celebrity. If Rihanna and Lady Gaga can do it infront of millions, you can do it at a public pool/beach side/etc etc.
No extra lunges, pushups, sit-ups, hair-do’s or other various crap to hide your “flaws” will honestly make you feel confident if your brain isn’t in it. Give your brain a kick in the ass and just take it as it is instead of trying to make it into a big ol’ deal..
No human is flawed. Once anyone gets that around their head, life becomes easier because you just stop caring about everyone else’s opinion, and even the little negative voice in your head.

I haven’t tried the bike shorts before. But the way they look I would imagine that they feel like a diaper.
I love vintage styled one piece swimsuits. I used to think one pieces were out of style, but since I’ve realized that for me, a little modesty is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed of! I feel so confident and classy in a one piece with fun colors and cute details. I would add, though, rock whatever you choose to wear proudly and with confidence!
Get a swimsuit in a colour/pattern you LOVE. Something cute you feel comfortable in!
My best tip for bathing suit confidence is to be proud and confident in what your body can do (swim! run, walk, etc.) !
Best tip for swimsuit confidence is to just be confident! Seriously. Everybody else is worrying about how they look to even worry about you.
My best swimsuit shopping advice is to go out with the ladies and drink wine first! Being a little buzzed on some great red wine always makes me feel sexy!
I have a few bathing suits but my all time favorite one is one my grandmother bought in the 70s and when she passed away and we were cleaning out her clothes we found it with the tags still on it (she paid $2.00!!) and it is a little sailor outfit complete with a cutie skirt attached! My best advice is find one that you really like and focus on that rather than body or nerves. And as a total germaphobe don’t worry about the pool they chlorinate them SO overly that you are safer there than sitting in a chair at a restaurant!
