Rock What Your Mama Gave You

April 21, 2010

Hey there!

Just when I thought I couldn’t be MORE grossed out by public pools you guys have to scare me more! Oh man. It will seriously be like Fear Factor when I stick my toe into that water…

I hope you are having a good Wednesday. :) Today has been a busy one…another training day, orders completed, and lots of business stuff going on. Git er done…!

Lunch consisted of leftovers…

IMG_4736

I simply took my lentil Neat Sauce out of the freezer and it thawed in the fridge overnight.

My fridge has certainly been working for me overnight lately…from Vegan Overnight Oats to de-thawing the next day’s food. ;)

This portion is about 2 cups worth, so I split it into 2 lunches.

With some discounted organic celery- which might I add, still has a lot of life left in it!

IMG_4728

I actually got up and grabbed the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for a dip. :) Celery is just…plain on its’ own.

Dessert- Dried organic apricots. One of my all time favourite snacks…

IMG_4742

Dinner was leftovers from last night’s Feelin’ Good Stew. I just love this stew! I was looking forward to it all day.

IMG_4831

I love the addition of the quinoa in this stew…I’m so glad I threw it in on a whim! It really bulked it up.

IMG_4830

Dessert was a tablespoon of organic dark chocolate chips and 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil melted in the micro.

Random yet blissful.

Eric and I just got back from a visit to a sports store where I tried on 1 piece swimsuits (for triathlon training) and padded bike shorts. I left feeling like a 7 year old with a diaper issue. Hopefully I have more luck at the next store!

I really need to get used to the idea of wearing a 1 piece swimsuit again. I actually laughed when I tried one on and looked in the mirror. Seven year old or a grown woman, I couldn’t be sure…

Tonight’s question- Do you own a swimsuit and if so, what kind(s) do you rock? 1 piece, bikini, tankini, thong, bikini, speedo…? ;)

Any suggestions for a killer training swimsuit?

My best tip for swimsuit confidence is to rock what your mama gave you. No one else has YOUR unique body so go show it off and strut your stuff. Be proud of who you are and how hard you work each day to keep yourself healthy and fit.

On that note, I’m going to pass out on the couch…it has been a long day! Can’t wait to snuggle my man and watch some Marriage Ref (Tom Papa we love u!).

Have a great night. :)

Hmm, I guess my best tip is just to not care what people think…or even worry. Just have fun and be yourself.

Make sure everything is secure so you don’t have to worry about flashing anyone!

I wear a bikini on the beach, and a one piece when I’m swimming for sport. There’s nothing worse than worrying your bottoms are going to slide down or your top go askew when you’re trying to perfect your swim stroke!! I have a simple polyester black TYR which was the cheapest one in the store and it’s done me well!

To feel your best and look your best: You have to EXUDE confidence. If you feel less than spectacular, you will look that way to others. If you throw on that smile, stand up straight and strut your stuff like you’re walkin’ down a runway, you will look (and feel) like a million bucks. Spread a little shimmery lotion all over your bod and let yourself GLOW for all to see!!

Make sure you don’t eat too much before wearing the suit (nothing’s worse than feeling bloated in a bikini).

Other than that, just wear it with confidence. You know you look awesome, and everyone else will see that too :)

My best advice is to stand up tall and smile. Like many other people said, people are too busy worrying about how they themselves look. Remember, you are your own worst critic!

swimsuit confidence–get something that won’t give you a wedgie or fall off if you do a huge dive or jump off a rope swing.

My best tip for swimsuit confidence is to rock some awesome sunglasses and a stylish floppy hat and pretend you’re on a beach in southern france! It’s a little silly but works.

My best tip is to remember that every one else is too bust worrying about themselves to worry about you, but if you have confidence, you will be some one that others will want to emulate. A smile and a head held high are infinitely sexier than an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini. :)

it’s all about exuding confidence. shoulders back, head up and strut it! :) nobody has a perfect body, but having the pride to show off your assets, along with your flaws, is always attractive. besides, if you think you look good and so does your lover, who else really matters?!

Exfoliate like crazy and smear on some of my favorite lotion, preferably with a bit of sparkle. Then strut!

Suck up your pride and get the RIGHT size, even if it’s not a size 2! At the end of the day, numbers are just numbers, don’t let your life be dictated by them!

My tip for wearing a swimsuit is to pick something comfortable that suits your body, and then rock it like today’s the last day that you will EVER walk this Earth. Seriously.

My tip is to realize that it’s not about how hot you are in the swimsuit, it’s how you carry and conduct yourself! Be happy with who you are and it will show, no matter your size.

I’ve enjoyed reading all the suggestions!
My advice would be to get a suit that fits your body type…then get out there and strut your stuff!!!! :)

I have a black one piece Speedo cross back swimsuit for “proper swimming” (ie training laps). It has lasted an age and I highly recommend it.

Then I wear tankinis for by the pool, relaxing swims as I look bloody awful in the one piece ha ha! :)

Now I’m cycling all the time I don’t do a lot of training swims. I probably should though.

With your swimsuit with confidence, and remember that other people are probably so concerned about how they look in their suit they probably aren’t too concerned about how you look.

Swimsuit confidence – wear a swimsuit that flatters your body type and do something active on the beach rather than lying there worrying about what other people are thinking of you in a swimsuit (they probably aren’t even looking)!
Also… I don’t know if I could ever wear the padded bike shorts. I think they serve a wonderful purpose but I think I would feel sooo weird haha
