Holy smokes it’s Friday again!
I swear it feels like it was just Friday.
Yesterday’s workout was FUN. I love the feeling of renewed enthusiasm after a day off.
I did a 3 mile run:
- 3 min walking warm-up
- Mile 1: 6.0 mph, incline 2%
- Mile 2: 6.5 mph, incline 5% (such a hard mile!!!)
- Mile 3: 6.0 mph, incline 2%
- 2 min walking cool-down
Mile 2 was a LONG, hard mile. I stopped half way through to get water. After the run, I did the ab-solute workout (18 mins of abs) and Booty Booster workout from the Booty Camp Fitness DVD.
Since I have been doing strength training my appetite has gone way up! I wonder if that is because my body is expending more energy repairing my muscle tears? Either way I have been one huge Hunger Monster lately.
This morning I woke up COLD. A Green Monster or juice was not going to cut it.
I was really excited to try out this new product:
Nut ‘n Budder contains peanuts, almonds, flaxseed oil, organic sugar, and flaxseed. It is only available in Canada right now (you don’t hear that on blogs too often!). It is seriously addicting, subtly sweet, and very creamy. I had to hide it in the back of the Lazy Susan! I could *probably* find it if I really wanted to though…if you catch my drift…
Creamy PB + J Oatmeal Parfait
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup regular oats
- 1 T chia seeds (optional)
- 1/3 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup almond breeze
- 1/2 cup plus a bit more water
- pinch salt
- 1/2 banana (optional- I didn’t have one so I used chia seeds to thicken it up nicely)
Layers/Toppings:
- Strawberry jam
- Nut ‘n Budder
- peanuts
Directions: Mix together oats, chia seeds, coconut milk, salt, banana, almond milk, and water. Bring to a boil and then cook on low, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes. Take a glass and drop in a layer of jam, then oats, then PB, then oats, then jam, etc. Sprinkle with peanuts and enjoy!
YUM!
Would you like a chance to win a jar of the Almond Budder Extreme and Nut ‘n Budder?

Oh my word! That sounds like my breakfast almost every morning! I am a nut butter fiend and that one looks AMAZING! I’m drooling! I would have to say that one of my favorite fiction books (gosh I love so many!) would be The Lovely Bones. It’s just amazing how a book can make you feel so many emotions in one sitting!
That parfait looks great. I’ll have to try it!
oh YUM I love me some almond butter…
one of my favorite books is Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.
so So So good… :)
…if you have not read Eat Pray Love it’s a great one too. :)
Have a FABULOUS weekend!
Yummy looking parfait! It is so hard to pick a favorite book, but Jane Eyre is usually near the top ofmy list.
Kiss Me Judas by Will Christopher Baer… fingers crossed for some yummy nut butter!
Water for Elephants
The Time Traveler’s Wife! Fantastic book! Oh, and I agree with Tash too. Water for Elephants was really good.
I don’t think I have a single favourite fiction book… they’re kinda mood dependent. Definitely in my top 10 and coming to mind right now are The Handmaid’s Tale (Margaret Atwood), Time Traveller’s Wife (I read it WAY before they thought about making it a movie.. hehe, but seriously I did).
OOoh, those look SO good! I don’t have ONE favorite book, but some of my favorite authors are: Suzanne Brockmann & Lori Foster. They’re kinda romance/chick lit/but still action-ish.
She’s Come Undone – Wally Lamb
Jemima J – Jane Green
Any Marion Keyes if you want to laugh your bum off
I love The Poisonwood Bible by Kingsolver and Oryx and Crake by Atwood. I also love how yummy that nut butter sounds!
Good lord. 398 comments so far. Also, I’m trolling these comments for new book recommendations as well, I’ve run out of books to read.
Most of my favs have been mentioned above. Many times in fact. So I’m going with one that I liked a few years ago and then made all my friends read “Friday Night Knitting Club”
My recent favourite is Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Hands down, HATCHET is my favorite fictional book. I too, also, love how yummy that nut butter sounds!
All time favourite is definitely DaVinci Code =)
oh Angela, that parfait may be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever laid eyes on!! Lovely, just lovely.
My favorite fiction book is TWILIGHT. I know I know, i’m totally one of “those girls”.
Happy weekend, girl!
Oh man, that parfait looks so yummy. It’s like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in oatmeal form :)
As for my favorite book, it’s so hard to just name one. Anything by Sophie Kinsella rocks as does Emily Griffin’s novels. My all time favorite book is Little Women, though. Old school, I know, but totally a classic
A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. I read it every year, it is amazing!
hi angela! oooooo that nut butter looks absolutely divine! my favorite fiction book is Norwegian Wood by Haruki Marukami. it made me see love in a whole new light!
