Holy smokes it’s Friday again!
I swear it feels like it was just Friday.
Yesterday’s workout was FUN. I love the feeling of renewed enthusiasm after a day off.
I did a 3 mile run:
- 3 min walking warm-up
- Mile 1: 6.0 mph, incline 2%
- Mile 2: 6.5 mph, incline 5% (such a hard mile!!!)
- Mile 3: 6.0 mph, incline 2%
- 2 min walking cool-down
Mile 2 was a LONG, hard mile. I stopped half way through to get water. After the run, I did the ab-solute workout (18 mins of abs) and Booty Booster workout from the Booty Camp Fitness DVD.
Since I have been doing strength training my appetite has gone way up! I wonder if that is because my body is expending more energy repairing my muscle tears? Either way I have been one huge Hunger Monster lately.
This morning I woke up COLD. A Green Monster or juice was not going to cut it.
I was really excited to try out this new product:

Nut ‘n Budder contains peanuts, almonds, flaxseed oil, organic sugar, and flaxseed. It is only available in Canada right now (you don’t hear that on blogs too often!). It is seriously addicting, subtly sweet, and very creamy. I had to hide it in the back of the Lazy Susan! I could *probably* find it if I really wanted to though…if you catch my drift…

![Creamy PB + J Oatmeal Parfait](https://ohsheglows.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/IMG_0481.jpg)
Ingredients:

- 1/3 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup almond breeze
- 1/2 cup plus a bit more water
- pinch salt
- 1/2 banana (optional- I didn’t have one so I used chia seeds to thicken it up nicely)
Layers/Toppings:
- Strawberry jam
- Nut ‘n Budder
- peanuts
Directions: Mix together oats, chia seeds, coconut milk, salt, banana, almond milk, and water. Bring to a boil and then cook on low, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes. Take a glass and drop in a layer of jam, then oats, then PB, then oats, then jam, etc. Sprinkle with peanuts and enjoy!

I could never pick a favorite book, but I love fluffy romance novels….lol. Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors.
I Have Dear John but I am not ready to start reading it yet…lol.
Yum!! That looks so good!
I’m not a romance novel type of girl…I seem to like stories by Mary Higgins Clark. I don’t read much of the fictional books, though, more true story or researching stuff!
I find it amazing how many people have responded. Angela, did you realize how many people read your blog?
I love to read and have many favourite books. Anything by Jodi Picoult, Nora Roberts, Mitch Albom, Debbie Macomber, and Nicholas Sparks are books that I enjoy. I noticed that many people listed ‘Eat, Pray, Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert. There is a sequel to that book called, ‘Committed’ that sounds really good. Has anyone read it yet?
This is really lame but I got for the books you can find in the “teen series” section of the bookstore. My current favorite is the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead but I loved the Mortal Instruments trilogy written by Cassandra Clare as well.
My sister told me that Dear John is a book (yeah, didn’t get that memo from the trailer of the movie) and now I’m dyyyying to read it! The movie looks so good so I can only imagine the book will be a million times better.
I’d have to go with The Kite Runner or A Thousand Splendid Suns, both by Khalid Hosseini. FABULOUS reads that had me crying for hours!
I wish I could ge ta parfait to look that good! Sweet giveaway :)
I would love to win this! I recently discovered almond butter and its my new staple to keep in the pantry :)
There is nothing like a good book…
Time Travellers Wife was a personal favourite, the movie will also be on DVD soon!
A Fine Balance by R. Mistery is also a great read, but very thought provoking.
Enjoy!
Those nut butters look amazing! Already mentioned, but The Red Tent by Anita Diamont is a fantastic book. I re-read it every couple of years. Happy Friday!
I love any Barbara Kingsolver books. I read Bean Trees in high school and fell in love with her writing style.
Love the looks of your parfait! yum! my favorite fiction book is the time travelers wife. love it! :)
Hmm, I would have to say that my favorite fiction book is Pride and Prejudice, or really anything Austen!
Your parfait looks soooooo delicious and what a fab way to start out the day!!! I will definitely be trying that this week :)
As for books, The Bean Trees is-hands down- an amazing book. I guarantee anyone who reads it loves it! Thanks!
mmmm, that looks amazingly delicious Angela!!! PB and J oats rock!
I would LOVE to try that nut butter!
I just saw the comment a bit before mine saying to read The Bean Trees. Well it just goes to show what a masterpiece it is!
I don’t normally read anything other than school book…
your breakfast looks so pretty!
Your breakfast looks super!
_Gone with the Wind_ by Margaret Mitchell is my all-time favorite book!
Angela, you’re amazing! Just thought I’d tell you. My favorite fictional books would be ones by Lois Lowry. I love her! Check out the non-kiddy ones, though. The picture books are great for little ones, but not something I would recommend for some “good reading”.
I don’t read much, so I can’t help, but that peanut butter looks awesome!
Great giveaway! I love learning about products that may or may not have come to the states yet. When it comes to fiction I am all about the easy beach reads. Anything by Nicholas Sparks is a good tear jerker, The Overnight Socialite by Birdie Clark was a great easy read, and although it is not true fiction any of Jen Lancaster’s embellished memoirs are incredibly funny (like laugh out loud and have to put the book down funny), some of the titles include Bright Lights, Big Ass, Pretty in Plaid, and Bitter is the New Black. Enjoy!
