Welcome Home Adriana

September 25, 2014

I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).

I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.

Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.

ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.

Thank you for all your love and support!!

Hi Angela,
I used to have a blog years ago corn free cass and I just wanted to say congratulations on everything you have achieved over the last 4 years. I recently had decided to visit your page and saw you were pregnant and have been following your week by week ventures. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant, and have loved reading about your journey to mama hood. Your daughter is beyond beautiful and you look amazing! I am so happy for you guys and would love to hear about your birth story, so hopefully you decide to post about it. My husband and I are doing a home-birth, I am so anxious with the final experience of the pregnancy into having our little guy in our arms. Congratulations on your beautiful little girl and your family! xxx cant wait for what comes next

I am so so happy for you both!! What a beautiful baby girl. (I love her name!) and Mama–you look ridiculously gorgeous for having just given birth. I’m envious, haha. I would love to hear the birth story; I think Moms are generally interested in sharing that stuff. Get a bunch of new moms together, and they could talk for hours! ;) Enjoy this new role as a parent. I remind myself every day to enjoy the moment–to stop and look at my son, to smell him and breathe him in. Babies grow so so fast! And when you’re exhausted and frazzled just remember: the days (and nights!) are long, but the years are short. Congratulations again!!!
