Welcome Home Adriana

September 25, 2014

I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).

I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.

Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.

ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.

Thank you for all your love and support!!

Angela – Congratulations – what a beautiful baby girl! She already looks so alert! I have never posted a comment before but have been following you for some time now and have the feeling you are like a friend. I recently bought your cookbook as well and love it! My 3rd is soy and dairy intolerant (he’s 5 months) and since I’m still nursing, I have found many delicious recipes I can enjoy on your site and cookbook! I can’t wait until you come up with baby food recipes ;)
Take good care, rest when you can, enjoy Adriana :)

Angela, I’m so so happy for you and your new family. Reading this brought me back to those first few days with Eden – I can relate to so much you said like you’ve known her your whole life and suddenly life has so much more purpose and meaning. I’m so glad you are finding it in yourself to relax into the moment. It’s such a beautiful moment. Sending love from my family to yours.

I am so happy for you, it is incredible. I am following you for some time now and it feels like you are a friend, even though I have never met you and the news of Adriana’s arrival honestly brought some tears to my eyes. So glad everything went well! She is a doll and you look so happy! Enjoy the ride.. for it is sometimes a bit challenging and lonely, specially in the middle of the night :) but it is sooo worth every moment!

Small tip for feeding sessions in the middle of the night: I used to keep my kindle by the chair and read a good book, this way I knew I would not fall asleep so easily. :)
