I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).
I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.
Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.
ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.
Thank you for all your love and support!!

Congratulations and welcome baby girl! Amazing! I’ve been following you for awhile now and have loved your weekly updates! I would totally love to hear your birth story. Happy days!!! :)
Congratulations to you and Eric on the arrival of sweet little Adriana! You all look so happy and healthy — what a beautiful family. Wishing you all the best as you discover the many wonders and joys of parenthood!
Wow congrats Angela!! She is beautiful and what a gorgeous name!! My mom and I are both huge fans of your blog and when we were talking yesterday, she was saying she was surprised you hadn’t had the baby yet or that you must have and just not posted about it yet! Looks like she was right! :) Congrats again!
Congratulations! She is beautiful! I love to read birth stories:)
Oh congratulations she is beautiful!!! I so enjoy all your posts and recipes, looking forward to more and more stories about this baby. I wish your family many blessings. Enjoy every second, they grow do quickly!
Huge Congratulations!! What a time of utter bliss. And yes, to the birthday story! Any woman who has birthed a child LOVES a birth story! And you’ll be happy you wrote it down to look back on it in the future. Andréa
Congratulations Angela!! As so many have said already, I (we) feel like we know you and have been so happy to share along in this pregnancy journey with you! Welcome to your beautiful baby girl!!! :) Enjoy all those special newborn moments…they are precious beyond words.
Congrats on your sweet baby girl!!! I think we would all love to hear your birth story if you are willing to share.
On a food related note, I want to tell you that I absolutely adore your cookbook!!! I have been a vegetarian for 5 years now and LOVE to cook, so needless to say, I have a lot of cookbooks. Your cookbook is not only the first one I have sat down and read cover to cover, but it also my hands-down favorite. I have had it for 5 months now and nearly every dish I have cooked since receiving it has been one of your recipes. I love your food, your story, and your passion! I told my husband that I felt such a connection with you, since I too used to have an unhealthy relationship with food and quite often get hangry. (Your glo bars are a staple in my kitchen now.)
My passion for your cookbook has spread into my personal and professional life too! Several of my friends and co-workers have bought your cookbook and we are constantly talking about which recipes we have made and always end up raving about how wonderful they were!
Anyway, sorry for the rambling! I just wanted you to know!
Congrats again!!! She is gorgeous!

P.S.- A post about a vegan diet while pregnant would be so appreciated! My family is very concerned about my diet when I "one day" get pregnant and they insist I will have to start eating animal protein, which will never happen!
Hi Melanie,
I’m so touched by your kind words and support. I hope you and your family enjoy many recipes to come.
Oh by the way, you might be interested on reading my post on vegan prenatal vitamins, and also how to get protein while pregnant.
Congrats!! I’m 17w along with baby 2 and all of these baby posts I see everywhere get me so excited and emotional lol!!
Congrats! Would love to hear birth story!
Happy birthday, Adriana! Congratulations to you all! She’s so beautiful as is your darling family! You look fabulous for having just gone through child birth!
I’d love to hear your birth story! Your journey has been wonderful to follow as someone who anticipates starting a family in the next few years. My sister had her first baby a year and a half ago, but she never was able to share with me as much as I wanted to learn from her. I’ve had some trepidation about the whole process, so being able to read about your journey has made it easier to wrap my mind around pregnancy. Thank you SO much for sharing! It has meant a lot to me. Hope your recovery goes smoothly! Enjoy falling more in love with her every day!
Congratulations to you all, and welcome to the world baby Adriana! What a beautiful name!
