Welcome Home Adriana

September 25, 2014

I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).

I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.

Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.

ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.

Thank you for all your love and support!!

AHHH! I can’t believe how excited I am for you… I feel like I know you personally as I refer to your website and cookbook religiously. I remember back in March when you posted that you were having a baby, I started to squeal with excitement, and my partner looked at me with a confused look on his face and I excitedly shouted “ANGELA LIDDON IS PREGNANT! YAYYYY!!” I may have even had tears in my eyes, ’cause I’m emotional to begin with plus I just love little babies. He responded by saying “who is that?” With utter disbelief (he should know due to the sole fact that we use your cookbook every day) “OH SHE GLOWS!!!!!! Get with the program man!” He laughed at me because he said that my reaction surprised him considering I have never actually met you in real life…

Regardless of if we have met in person or not (I’d go all fan girl if we did FYI), I am so sincerely happy for you. You have a beautiful baby and it truly seems like she will have some wonderful parents raising her. This post almost made me cry a little, and I feel so grateful to have stumbled on your website, as you have changed my life in more ways than you could ever comprehend. I tell everyone that will listen about your amazing recipes and I have even convinced several people I know to buy your cookbook.

CONGRATS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!! She’s gorgeous just like you. I’d love to hear the birth story as well!

Thanks Angela

Congratulations! She’s so adorable. I am happy for you and your husband. Yes, please share the story of her birth. A lot of your blog is educational in a way, showing people how to do things. I think sharing Adriane’s story would be great.

Adriana is absolutely perfect! She looks so alert and healthy! I know all the nutrition you passed to her definitely helped with that. I, for one, would love to hear your birth story. My daughter was breech so I missed out on the miracle of childbirth; although witnessing a woman in labor before my Cesarean was enough to convince me I could live without the experience ; )
Welcome to motherhood! Nothing has been more life-affirming, for me, than raising my daughter. She inspires me to be the most compassionate, humble, awe-inspired, fulfilled human I can be. I am sure Adriana will bring the same light to your soul.

Ahh, congratulations! She is gorgeous! I would love hearing about your birth story, if you feel so inclined to share it. It sounds like you’re both holding up really well, though (I hear a lot of parents who are just a mess in the first couple weeks after childbirth, so to be happy and laughing four days in? You two are like superparents already!)

Am I ever glad I decided to “visit” you today! Congratulations, everyone looks so happy! Welcome to the world Adriana! I’d love to read your birth story. I also need to catch up on your pregnancy journey! I’ve been a wee tad busy with my 18 month old twins and trying to feed them 3 vegan meals a day when I’m used to only feeding myself and sometimes my husband 2 meals a day. I think I need to spend more time planning and using the recipes on your blog and in your cookbook! Welcome to parenthood!
