Welcome Home Adriana

September 25, 2014

I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).

I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.

Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.

ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.

Thank you for all your love and support!!

She truly is a sweetheart – my heart fills with happiness for all three of you. The pictures just ooze love and pride, all the way across the globe :)

Enjoy these precious first days, weeks and months… they are magical, sleepless, emotional and truly wonderful. I join the choir: I’d love to read your birth story but it can all wait!

And finally: the vegan diet has always given you a very special glow, but I dare say that motherhood has granted you a glow that no food can create. You have never been more beautiful :)

All the best for all three of you,

Kristina from Sweden.

WOW SHE’S BEAUTIFUL! Look at those EYES! You both look very healthy and glowing. Enjoy every blessed second because it goes super fast.
Warning, unsolicited advice: Let Dad and baby form their own routines that might be a little different from yours. I made the mistake of just taking care of everything for my husband and a year went by and he still didn’t feel comfortable changing diapers or bathing our baby. It’s tempting to just figure everything out yourself, but let Dad do some work too :)

Congratulations!!! I’ve been checking OhSheGlows.com daily for at least 2 weeks now, waiting for the baby to arrive! Thank you for showing the world that you can be 100% vegan and 100% healthy (Baby AND Mom). I’ve been a lifelong vegetarian. Attempting to go vegan for a couple of years. Your site, your lifestyle, and your family inspires me everyday.

God bless your Glowing Family <3

Welcome to the world Adriana!
My birthday is Sept 21st too.
I bet your mom’s favorite song will be Earth Wind and Fire’s song “September”. The first lyrics to the song are ” Do you remember the 21st night of September”.
Enjoy your new baby girl…..

Congratulations, Angela! She is perfect and you all look so happy! Enjoy this time. I won’t tell you it goes fast, because for me it didn’t–in the very best of ways. My little guy just turned 20 months and it feels like he’s been with us for so much longer. We’ve really tried to live in the moment and enjoy him at every stage (even through the rough patches), which I think has helped the time to not speed by. So yeah–enjoy this time…and everything to come. :)

And I think I’m simply adding to the general consensus here, but I would love to read your birth story!

I am so happy for you! And I must say that she picked the perfect day to arrive. She now shares the same birthday as my little niece, Grace, who just turned 5 years old. She is beautiful.

Congratulations Angela and Eric! Adriana is absolutely perfect! Being a labour and delivery nurse, I see a lot of newborns, who are all so precious, but Adriana is exceptionally beautiful! You all look radiant! I love that you are living in the moment and just taking each as as it comes. It is so important to be gentle and patient with yourself when you have a newborn. Congratulations and good luck over the next weeks and months, as you discover the joys and challenges of parenthood and 3 am feeds. I would absolutely love to hear your birth story!

Congratulations! I’m so excited for you and your now +1 family :) What a joyous occasion, indeed! And, she’s absolutely beautiful.

We are 32 weeks right now ourselves, ready for our little bundle of joy around (American) Thanksgiving-time. I’m definitely starting to think about the actual birth more and more, and would love to hear any part of “the story” you want to share!

Congratulations again!
