I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).
I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.
Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.
ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.
Thank you for all your love and support!!

So very happy for you. She is adorable.

Congratulations to you and Eric on the wonderful new addition to your family (and into your newly renovated home.) I have enjoyed your website and tasty recipes for many years. As a self-described vegaphile (meat-eating lover of veggies), I really appreciate the way you make all your meals simple, tasty and healthy. Wishing you family the very best as you begin the next chapter of your wonderful lives together.
Congratulations! She is beautiful.
Oh my goodness! My Louis was born 9/14 also one day before my due date. He weighed 7# and was 19″ long- our babies are so similar!! I would love to read your birth story!! I have had so much fun sharing mine! Congratulations Angela!!! She is beautiful!!! And so are you!!!
Congratulations to you both. I wish Adriana a long life and much happiness as well!
Congratulations Angela and Eric! She is beautiful. I’d love to hear the birth story if you feel like sharing :) xx
Congratulations Angela! What a beautiful family of three you are! I love birth stories and would love to hear yours…if you decide to share it. I think sharing birth stories is so important and in this day and age where women don’t live in family groups (so often), we often don’t hear much about birth, know what to expect, etc. I’ve had three wonderful births, all at home (close to a hospital) under the care and wisdom of three very experienced midwives. Not for everyone of course, but I think we deserve a choice in where we feel comfortable to birth. I couldn’t have birthed in a strange place, my friends and family couldn’t have birthed at home. :) Anyway, your baby is absolutely gorgeous (no wonder!!). Enjoy!
I have been following your amazing site for about 2 years now. When my son was 4 weeks old we discovered he was allergic to dairy and soy. Since I was nursing, I had to eliminate dairy and soy from my diet as well. After living on cereal with coconut milk and turkey/avocado sandwiches for weeks, I totally lost my love of food. My lack of protein caused me to get sick, often (I had strep throat 3 times in 4 months.)
I was so happy to find you and your recipes to help me learn to love food again and cooking while on a limited diet. Your almond ‘cream sauce’ pasta recipe was literally a life saver. It taught me an entire new way of eating and how my diet can improve my health.
My son outgrew his allergies, thankfully, but I still incorporate your recipes in our meals often.
Congratulations and best wishes to your beautiful new family! And thank you for making the first year of my family’s life a little easier.
I would love to hear your birth story! Please share!!
Congratulations Angela! She is beautiful!

Congratulations to you! I wish you happy, healthy days and years together :)
I also love being a mum (of a 1 1/2 year old boy :) ), it brings out so much new of our personality. I ‘ve never thought it’s going to be that joyful.
