I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).
I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.
Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.
ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.
Thank you for all your love and support!!

Congratulations and many blessings to your family and your new arrival!
I am over the moon with delight about Adriana’s arrival and send heartfelt congratulations to all of you. She is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing all of the excitement leading up to the Big Day (would love to hear your birth story, too) – it’s been wonderful sharing the journey with you and remembering my own. Your family portrait is darling! May every day be magical! Keep being great to yourselves and cherish every moment. It’s true that the moments do go by too fast (even the sleepless ones Ha!) and I truly hope you enjoy being Mom as much as I do. I know you’re already an awesome Mom and have been since the day you learned the news of your pregnancy. It’s the best job ever. :-)
Although I’ve been a long time loyal reader of your blog and a HUGE fan of your cookbook, this is my first comment because I couldn’t contain my joy. :-)
Wishing you all the very best!
Thank you Aimée, I appreciate your comment so much. :)

Congratulations!!! Yes, birth story please! :) I’m currently 18 weeks preggers with #2 and I find reading them so helpful and often inspirational.
Congratulations!! She is absolutely adorable!! Can’t wait to read about your birth experience.
Congratulations, Angela:) (I’ve been a long-time–though silent—follower for a long time as well). You and your family “glow” with happiness as others have said.
*On a side note, I actually briefly mentioned your website in my new website–my “Nutrition E-Portfolio”; it’s a ongoing project for this Nutrition Assistant Certification program I’m currently going through.
Congratulations! She is so beautiful. I would love to read your story about giving birth. Enjoy every moment with her each one is so precious in it’s own way.
Félicitations Angela!!!
I know your daughter would come the 21st september :) because it’s the birth day of my son Alexandre (but in 2010).
I’m so happy for you and your husband (and family of course).
Bienvenue à Adriana <3
Hi Angela! Congratulations!! Just wanted to say I’m truly happy for you! Parenthood is really the best thing in the world. You’ll be surprised on how fast she will learn things and proudly amazed! She’s beautifull :)
Parabéns, parabéns, parabéns! It’s just what I can say.
YEESS to know the birth story!
This is such fabulous news! Congratulations to you both! Enjoy these magical days of early parenthood.
Reading your story and blog has long been an inspiration to me as I’ve also moved from an eating disorder to a happy and healthy cook and mother of two, and now that I’m looking forward to give birth to our third child in early December (that’s what we think anyway ;-) no early arrivals planned for…), your journey has again given me a lot!
Thanks, love and light your way!
Congratulations! She is just perfect! You make a beautiful family.

I feel like I’ve been waiting for you two to have a baby for years as I’ve read your blog. You two have always seems like such a perfect couple- now the perfect family :)

Enjoy the wonder, love, and light that this little one brings to your life.
Oh my, she is beautiful!! And you both look awesome. I wish I looked that good after having a baby. I looked like I had been through the wringer (25 hours of dry labor, ouch). Blessings to your family. Welcome to motherhood!
Congratulations! She is beautiful! The first six weeks are definitely the hardest but it gets so much easier once she starts giving you “real” smiles. Hang in there!
I love birth stories and would LOVE to hear yours. It is all I wanted to talk about after my daughter’s birth. It is such a powerful and crazy experience.
Ah Sept 21 babies are the best! Congratulations from our home to yours and from our very own Sept 21 baby (8 years old now). I love your recipes! I’m looking forward to purchasing your book this week.
All the best!
