I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).
I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.
Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.
ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.
Thank you for all your love and support!!

Congratulations to you and your family. You all look radiant! Adriana is a lovely name for a lovely baby girl! Another vote to hear the birth story :)
Your birth story? OH YES, Please share it! We’ve followed your story this far….she’s soooo beautiful and I’m so happy for you both!!
It’s funny, I just discovered your blog the other day, looking for a green dressing like the one they have at a vegetarian restaurant here in Vancouver, and now I see you’ve just had a precious baby girl last week. Congratulations! Her birth is a very lucky one, I can tell. An equinox is a very special time for a baby to be born, at least I like to think, as my birthday is the 21st of March. Best wishes in this new stage of your life, adding mother to your already impressive list of accomplishments. Life truly is a journey. You’re an inspiration to the many you reach with this healing work.
Yes, story please! Congratulations to you and Eric in your beautiful baby girl!

Beautiful!! Congratulations to your sweet family. I’ve so enjoyed reading your blog the last few years and am so happy for you. We had a baby girl this past June and every day is more fun. Enjoy this special time…take care of yourselves and let others take care of you, too!
Congratulations Angela. I am so pleased for you.
Congrats. She’s beautiful.
Congratulations Angela! I have been reading your blog for years, but never commented. Now I had to, in order to say how happy I am for you. This is a truly wonderful time – I just had our first child on the 28th of September, a week and a half late. Now I have to go back to nursing as well :) Enjoy your little miracle!

I wish you and your gorgeous family all the best!
So cute! Glad to hear everything went well… Was thinking of you today as we just enjoyed a lovely meal of sweet potato enchiladas from your book. It was so nice to come on here and see that your little girl arrived safe and sound :) All the best, Annie.
Congratulations!! She is so beautiful and it looks like you are doing amazing! I’ve been following your pregnancy all along. I myself am pregnant, and I can’t tell you how helpful it has been to read your early posts and know that I’m not alone in feeling like ick, or as you put it in one post “poo on a stick”. Ha! I totally related to that! Anyhoo, I just wanted to say congrats and let you know that I would love to read your birth story!
Thanks Danielle :) So happy you have enjoyed them so much! All the best with your pregnancy and new baby.
Congratulations! I first started reading your blog while I was in graduate school in 2011. I was reading your recent baby updates, and I was convinced you would have her on my mom’s birthday. Sure enough, you did! Good work.
