I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).
I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.
Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.
ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.
Thank you for all your love and support!!

I’m late to comment but just wanted to extend my congratulations and warmest wishes to you and Eric on your beautiful baby girl! How incredibly exciting!!
If you are up to sharing your birth story, I know I would certainly be interested in reading it (I’m due with my first baby in early January so I am a bit fixated on birth stories at the moment!).
CONGRATULATIONS!! This is the happiest of posts :) I’m so happy for you and your family. I took a hiatus from the blog world for awhile to get some things in order and when I returned I found out you were pregnant and then a week later you gave birth!! What an exciting month :)
Congratulations! She is absolutely beautiful, and the two of you look great also – very relaxed and content. Have fun! :)
Congratulations, you two! What a precious gift! Enjoy every moment!
Congratulations and best wishes to the three of you. Welcome to the world, Adrianna!
Congratulations to the whole family! Adriana is such a beautiful baby girl. All the best wishes to the new bundle of joy and her parents.
Congratulations! I visit your site all the time and rarely comment, but I wanted to say how much your recipes have enhanced meal times around my house. Your book is an absolute gold mine, and your site continues to bring delicious things into my kitchen almost every day (I’m not even exaggerating)! And I have to mention that your daughter and I have the same birthday. I can tell you from several years’ experience that it’s a pretty darn good one! :) All the best to you and your family!
Heavily pregnant with my first baby my cousin said to me ‘and just when you think you really can’t do it for a moment longer and you panic madly? that is the moment when you must just hang on because it is your body telling you that you are almost done’
Those words… totally saved me when push came to… well PUSH!
You never know what little bit of YOUR story will hold someone’s hand and walk next to them when the road becomes a little too steep and the doubt creeps in.
much love to you and your beautiful Adriana and her daddy
