I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).
I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.
Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.
ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.
Thank you for all your love and support!!

Congratulations! She’s beautiful, and so are you! I wish I had looked that stunning three days after delivering my kids – ha!

Congrats on your baby girl! Yes! Please share your birth story!! My last baby was a home water birth and my first was at the hospital with midwives. Your daughter is beautiful and she’s so lucky that she has one healthy mama! I use your cook book all the time! Tonight I made the enchiladas (my husband requested them!). Best wishes. Take it easy. So happy for you! You and your husband look overjoyed! Enjoy the time getting to know each other!
I am always up for a good, honest birth story. I think the more stories there are out there, the more women can realize how many choices they have and how everything is individual. It’s not all pretty–it’s real and a bit animalisitc. I also completely respect your right to privacy and would never pressure someone to share if they didn’t want to for whatever reason.
Oh my goodness – she is gorgeous!!! Congratulations to you both! <3
I’ve been overseas for the past two weeks and fell behind on my blog reading but I wanted to say congratulations on your GORGEOUS baby girl!!! I’m so happy to hear that she is healthy and that you are doing good too. And, if you feel up to it, I would absolutely love to read your birth story!
