Rock What Your Mama Gave You

April 21, 2010

Hey there!

Just when I thought I couldn’t be MORE grossed out by public pools you guys have to scare me more! Oh man. It will seriously be like Fear Factor when I stick my toe into that water…

I hope you are having a good Wednesday. :) Today has been a busy one…another training day, orders completed, and lots of business stuff going on. Git er done…!

Lunch consisted of leftovers…

IMG_4736

I simply took my lentil Neat Sauce out of the freezer and it thawed in the fridge overnight.

My fridge has certainly been working for me overnight lately…from Vegan Overnight Oats to de-thawing the next day’s food. ;)

This portion is about 2 cups worth, so I split it into 2 lunches.

With some discounted organic celery- which might I add, still has a lot of life left in it!

IMG_4728

I actually got up and grabbed the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for a dip. :) Celery is just…plain on its’ own.

Dessert- Dried organic apricots. One of my all time favourite snacks…

IMG_4742

Dinner was leftovers from last night’s Feelin’ Good Stew. I just love this stew! I was looking forward to it all day.

IMG_4831

I love the addition of the quinoa in this stew…I’m so glad I threw it in on a whim! It really bulked it up.

IMG_4830

Dessert was a tablespoon of organic dark chocolate chips and 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil melted in the micro.

Random yet blissful.

Eric and I just got back from a visit to a sports store where I tried on 1 piece swimsuits (for triathlon training) and padded bike shorts. I left feeling like a 7 year old with a diaper issue. Hopefully I have more luck at the next store!

I really need to get used to the idea of wearing a 1 piece swimsuit again. I actually laughed when I tried one on and looked in the mirror. Seven year old or a grown woman, I couldn’t be sure…

Tonight’s question- Do you own a swimsuit and if so, what kind(s) do you rock? 1 piece, bikini, tankini, thong, bikini, speedo…? ;)

Any suggestions for a killer training swimsuit?

Also if you’d like to win a bag of premium chia seeds from Chia Seeds Direct, give me your best tip for SWIMSUIT CONFIDENCE below! Open to Canadian and US residents only please. Contest closes Thursday at 5pm EST.

My best tip for swimsuit confidence is to rock what your mama gave you. No one else has YOUR unique body so go show it off and strut your stuff. Be proud of who you are and how hard you work each day to keep yourself healthy and fit.

On that note, I’m going to pass out on the couch…it has been a long day! Can’t wait to snuggle my man and watch some Marriage Ref (Tom Papa we love u!).

Have a great night. :)

Find a suit that you feel comfortable in (most important) and then show your confidence! Even if you’re not the most confident person, act like you are…..others will pick up on your self-esteem and get on the ‘positive train’ :)

I figure everybody else at the pool/beach/wherever is too busy worrying about how they look in their swimsuit to even notice me!

My two tips are to forget about it and enjoy yourself and also to wear big glamorous sunglasses :)

My best tip is to exercise a little bit, and shower with a salt or sugar scrub to get glowing (hehe) before you put it on. Then, don’t worry about how you THINK look to others. If you feel fabulous, you’ll look fabulous!! You’ll radiate inside and out. Go into the world and be your fabulous self!

I try to remember all the amazing things my body allows me to do and that I am healthy, I love my body for those things.

Focus on positives–what fun you’ll have in the suit, how it makes your chest look great–rather than what you don’t like!

Swimsuit confidence…we’ll I’ve always struggled with this one. My best advice? Stop comparing yourself to everyone else. No one is like you, and there will never be anyone like you again. That in itself is amazing :)

My swimsuit confidence is make sure you use personal hygiene on the front area. :) But actually love who you are and what you have become, inside that swimsuit and outside!

I’m repeating myself on the swimsuit, but I wear the Speedo Endurance suits (the suit will actually have the word “endurance” embroidered on the front bottom of it), always, they come in really pretty colors and last significantly longer than the polyester suits, no fading, no snagging or wear and tear on the bottom area of the suit.

I absolutely love the looks of that neat sauce and the stew, I am going to have to make a ton of that to freeze for me to munch on.

I received this from Active.com, there is a good one in Canada, http://www.active.com/triathlon/Articles/6-Triathlon-Camps-to-Boost-Your-Training.htm?act=EMC-Active&Vehicle=Insider&Date=04_21_10&Edition=1&Sections=Articles&Creative=Boost_Your_Training_at_a_Tri_Camp&TextName=Boost_Your_Training_at_a_Tri_Camp&ArtText=Txt&Placement=2&Dy=Wed

Have a good day to all!

something i have to remind myself of all the time with swimsuits is similar to yours: i’m the only one who looks the way i do, which is unique and beautiful! i’ve found that only i can rock certain suits while others look much better in other things. love yourself!

Yum Chia Seeds!

Swimsuit confidence: Wear a bathing suit you feel good in, I like the idea of a fun accessory, wear sunscreen with a little sparkle and nice scent, and have fun! Everyone else is totally correct, your confidence will override others noticing any insecurities you are having about yourself. Pay attention to just enjoying yourself in the sun and water!

my tip for swim suit confidence is to hold your head up (don’t slouch) and be completely confident! and also, try your swimsuit on again at home…take a couple laps around the house to make sure it keeps everything in place!

Make sure the swimsuit fits well (not baggy, tight etc) and makes you feel GOOD. Then, stand up straight and put on your best smile.

My swimsuit confidence tip is to remember you have to move and twist and turn in the suit, so make sure it fits without the “wedgie factor” lol. I learned my lesson when we took the kids to a waterpark on water slides. (Hmm, how do I get up out of the bottom of the water slide shute and gracefully remove the bathing suit that has climbed right up my butt? lol) I try not to think about the gross factor about public pools also, but alas, sometimes it is very hard, I agree lol.
