Yup, self-affirmations still going strong!! :D Thanks Caitlin!
Your comments last night were incredible and inspiring to read! What a pick me up!
Did anyone else get a little teary eyed when watching the video? I admit I did!
I can’t wait until I leave the house today. I am going to leave a few messages around town. *evil cackle*
As I mentioned in yesterday afternoon’s post, I am selling my Glo Bakery goodies in a market this Saturday!! So what I thought was going to be a catch up week has turned into another crazy baking week! :D
Yesterday I spent the entire day baking and today and tomorrow I will be doing the same!
I made Part 1 of my Gl’oreos:
I can’t get over how much the cookie tastes like the chocolate cookie from actual Oreos! It is a dead ringer!
Part 2 will be the filling (healthified) of course!
Then I made 200 of my On The Glo Bars. Although these OTG bars had a twist! A crispy twist!!
After I pulled out all the ingredients and got everything ready, I realized that I was almost out of oats!!! What’s a gal to do?
I decided to sub some of the oats with cereal- rice crisp cereal!!
I used 1 cup oats and 1 cup of rice crisp cereal instead of 1.5 cups of oats.
The result was nothing short of sheer perfection:
A Light and airy delight.
The rice crisp cereal made these bars VERY light. They aren’t dense like the other ones. I would prefer these lighter bars for small snacks and the other ones when I am looking for more substance and energy!
In other batches, I added chocolate chips!!
Which, to my delight, melted when I added the brown rice syrup mixture!!
I LOVE the chocolate ones!!!
My mother in law is OBSESSED with these new bars!! She just can’t get enough of them! :D
She has a HUGE tab adding up I tell you…bahaha.
Another day, another Amazing Grass Green Monster:
In today’s mix:
- 1/3 cup pumpkin
- 1 slice extra firm organic tofu
- 1.5 cup Almond Milk
- 3 organic kale leaves
- 1/2 ripe frozen banana
- ice
- Amazing Grass Wheat Grass powder
These ingredients made 1.5 of these cups! So good!
I love that they don’t put a bunch of crap in the powders. It is all natural, organic, and vegan. BOO-YAH.
GOOD NEWS to my fellow Canadians! Amazing Grass products will be available in Canadian WHOLE FOODS stores this August 2009!
Also, if you decide to purchase AG online, just enter ‘ohsheglows’ at the checkout and get 15% OFF! Big thanks to Teri! :)
Here is what I have decided to bake for the market Saturday:
- Mini sweet loaves (TBD- either banana blueberry walnut bread or my Pumpkin apple raisin)
- On The Glo Bars (~200)
- Skinni-mini Glo buns
- Glo’nuts
- Gl’oreos
- Mini muffins (Time pending)
I also need to:
- Prepare signage
- Business cards
- magnets
- Ingredient list
- Nutritional info
2 days left!!! Never a dull moment around this household…
See you this afternoon for:
- WHO in my circle of family and friends is starting up a BLOG! You won’t believe who it is and what the blog is going to be about! Any guesses?
- Am I chopping my hair off?? Find out…
:) What a great idea. I hope you have a great saturday setting up at the market!! how fun!!
I can’t wait to see where you stick your notes :) All of your baked goods look so yummy- I hope you make it BIG!
I hope to be able to try all of these Glo treats someday. Yum!
i put chocochips in the bars when i made them and the melty addition was SUPERYUM.
brilliant crispy rice. i may need to try that. also want to experiment with putting dried fruits in there (like dried cherries or something, to do a tlc bar spin)
good luck at the festival! i just passed our weekly farmers market and saw the bakery stall setting up and thought of you.
Wow the bars do look delicious!! Best of luck with all the tasks!
I love your expression in the pic! The Glo’reos look amazing. Good luck with getting everything ready for the market on Saturday. I was seeing rain in the forecast, so I hope it stays away while you’re there!
The Gl’oreos look delicious and your pictures of the bars are gorgeous! You’re going to have such a blast at the market on Saturday and you’re going to be a huge success. I can’t believe I’m getting to experience your rise to the top – keep it up!
Can’t wait for the surprises! :)
I think your hair would look cute short ;) hehe
and oh wow look at all that baking..I would LOVE to live in your house lol…good luck working on all the stuff, I’m sure you will get it all done :)
What market are you going to be at – one in Toronto? And DONT chop your hair off – I don’t know if you saw in my FB photos that I once had long GLOOOOORIOUS hair like you have now – and I chopped er into a bob last year and have hated it ever since – its a large pain in the rear – I found long hair so much easier and can not wait to have it back (currently attempting to grow it back now)!
I definitely felt teary during the video but for a different reason. The song you played, along with the video- just completely struck me in a different way because of something i’ve been holding on to for about 5 years.
Hm, i’m guessing you are cutting off your hair – otherwise why would you post that question?
It must be either your mom or Eric….! Your hair is so pretty!
$10 says it’s your mom. Or your sister. Or….both sharing a blog. hah
All your delicious baked goods look…delicious! Yum!
Sorry I didn’t comment on your last post. The video you made is amazing!! And so true. We all need to hear affirmations like that. Love it!

I haven’t forgotten to send you pics of the betsy heels, I have been crazy busy with work. Were under staffed at the moment. But I have a few other items to send you. I have always wanted to open a coffee/boutique, and If I do I am so ordering your products for Earthybrits. goodluck and I love the amazingGRASS PRODUCTS.
Hiya!
my guess it is your mum as i’ve seen her on your blog a lot and I think she’ll be doing a green fingered gardening blog?
my second guess is your sister – and she’ll blog about being a mother etc…
… do i win? do i do i?!!!
They all look so yummy. Who won the Amazing Grass giveaway?? Did I miss that post? Best, RG
There are so many goodies packed into this post!
I really enjoy your blog and you are getting me very interested in those Green Monsters! Do you happen to know if there’s a difference between juicing and blending, in terms of nutrients, digestion, etc?
Oh my goodness those bars look amazing! If I didn’t have a HUGE collection of bars already in my pantry I’d have to take it upon myself and order some ;)
I really appreciate your post yesterday on body image. It’s really sad what the world overall has come to in terms of what looks ‘good’, you know? Really makes you think! I’m so thankful that my days of distorted body image and disordered eating are over. Somedays I still feel a little off in my own skin, but I know that all women go through that. Every woman has her days! But inspirational posts like that really help. Thank you :)
I can’t wait to see who’s starting a blog! And you’re chopping your hair off?! Hopefully for Locks of Love! I donated 10 1/2 inches in November and it was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, knowing that a cancer patient could feel a little bit more confident with hair!
Love,
Meg
Thank you for the news on Amazing Grass!! I keep wanting to order it online, but every time I get the the $15 shipping fee I stop.
I will be coming to Toronto in August for sure!!!
