Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

May 7, 2010

Happy Friday!

Well, that was a crazy 16 hours! Last night I worked in the bakery until 11pm and then I was up at 6am to get out a bunch of orders before Eric left for work. Good times. I told Eric that he can pocket all the money that he makes when selling his coworkers Glo Bars, and he has been selling a ton lately! How is that for motivation? ;) I also had to get a box of samples ready to ship to a potential retail customer.

Last night Eric and I had a music party. I worked and he painted the upstairs hallway!!

I was deemed ‘worst DJ ever’ Apparently I play too many chick songs!? Music makes work so much better.

This morning I baked from 6-9am and finally stopped for breakfast when I was finished (just in the nick of time). I was starving like a mad woman.

IMG_6319

In the GM: 1 cup almond milk, 3 cup spinach, 1 scoop Amazing Grass wheatgrass powder, 1/2 large banana, 1 tsp maca, 1 tbsp chia seeds, ice.

IMG_6323

Then I made half a serving of the Banana Pancake Sandwich to go along with it! I made these teeny tiny thin pancakes. They were so cute.

It was awesome!

Belly happy.

Now I am hopefully going to a lunchtime swim at the pool. I am super late so I hope I can at least squeeze out 30 mins. of swimming.

Isn’t work so rewarding when it’s something you love? Your passion for your business is obvious and inspiring for other people to find their passion. I have had a similar experience pursuing a career in nutrition. I left an office job that I HATED and started doing what I love, it has made all the difference in my life. Keep on doing what you’re doing, it’s working for you!!! :)

i’m actually in the process of that right now…just trying to live a healthier lifestyle and make the changes i want to see in myself so that when we have children i can pass on healthy habits. sounds like a pretty average thing, but it’s so hard in the middle of it!

Wow! You two were super productive last night!

I’ve mentioned it before but I’ve definitely made a HUGE transformation! If you met me 5 years ago you wouldn’t know me (not that you do now!)! I was 250lbs, unhappy, afraid of the future and of life, not knowing the path I was on.

Now? 159lbs and dropping, I’m a runner, I’m happier than I’ve ever been, I have direction in life, take chances and am excited for the future. All because I finally realized that my life wasn’t going to change if I didn’t do something about it. I can’t sit around waiting for it to get better because I’m the only one who can do that! Now, I want to spend my life passing that information along to others and see them become the happy, powerful people I know we all are!

I agree with Carrie – your passion for your work is so amazing.

The biggest life change I have made is moving from Ohio to Florida with my husband. We left all our family behind, which is hard, but living in the warm climate has made me so much more active than I was when living in Ohio. I can now run year round, play outdoor volleyball year round, and I participate in triathlons. I love this lifestyle, and I feel fortunate to live in such an inspiring place with so many options to keep me healthy.

I love that you have C. Breezy’s (ain’t I cool!) whole album up. When “I can transform Ya” comes on, especially during a run, I feel so proud of myself for the changes that I have made over the last three years. It has been a tough go a times, and still is a struggle to not do things like binge eating, or worrying that 30 minutes of weight training isn’t enough…but the changes that have taken place, the satisfaction with my overall health picture – it’s been nothing less than an amazing transformation!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it many more times to come- I am positive, but OSG was another platform that has boosted my tranformation arsenal. Hugs to you Angela!

I’m working towards that BIG change and hope it will happen in the next 18 months or so. I really want to set the example for my girls, do what you love, what fills you with joy…don’t settle.

Fab looking pancakes btw…yum.

I know that you’ve answered this before, but do you have a special zoom lense, or just the 55 mm that your camera (I assume) came with? Those aereal shots of your green monsters are always so awesome!

Sounds like a productive night, for sure! Music definitely makes work easier!

These pancakes look yummy! And it’s true, your passion for your work – for life! – is truly inspiring.

I have started the process of transformation, it will take some time before everything comes together, but I am taking control and working hard , so I am confident it will all turn out great :-)

It’s impressive how you bake all day and STILL bake/cook most of your meals!

I’ve made a HUGE transformation in my life over the last year! I was over 200 pounds, unhealthy, inactive, stressed, and just plain unhappy. I decided to turn my life around, joined Weight Watchers, lost over 50 pounds, got really active and started running, biking, and yoga. I had never run in my life besides the mandatory laps at soccer practice as a kid (that I would try to get out of as much as possible), and just a few weeks ago I ran in a 10 mile race! I am now referred to as “a health nut” which I still can’t believe and people come to me to ask about nutrition and exercise. It’s been a major, very welcome transformation, and I am so much happier! :)

Now I am just working on healthy living and maintenance!!

I’ve had 3 life changes. I lost 90 lbs over a period of 3 years. I became a runner and a triathlete. And last but not least, I have completely changed my eating habits, like a complete 360! Woohoo!

BTW, I received my first order of GloBars today, the Variety pack and OMG, yummy! I can’t wait to try the Run bars!!!

Have a super weekend!

I envy your work-at-home schedule. I’d love to do a midday workout. There haven’t been too many life changes in my life, but I’d consider getting married one of them. I’ll never have all the covers again.

yuum those pancakes look delicious! and i just happen to have some left over spelt flour…hm…i feel a good sunday morning coming on!

and as for the transformation YES! at the end of last august i returned home from a five week volunteering trip in south africa (it was through my college and we stayed at the university of capetown. we worked with a program through their university called SHAWCO.) i did a LOT of soul searching there and found out i was living a quite unbalanced life here in the united states. so i OVERHAULED! my diet. my friends. my closet. my LIFE. i focused on health and nutrition (and have lost close to 20 pounds because of it!) and focused on how to break ties with my materialistic, judgmental side. i stopped eating meat (the BEST decision EVER!) i stopped watching tv, starting running regularly and doing yoga and BAM! talk about balanced! i’m definitely still working on self-love and self-acceptance though. in south africa all i felt was beautiful and happy (i lost weight there and i think this contributed to it) and the feeling stayed some when i returned home but it has since dissipated, i’m sad to admit. i regained a little stomach fat i literally seemed to of magically lost and it’s been an INCREDIBLY difficult thing for me to lose/not fixate on. but in comparison to the person i was at this time last year, i am immensely more happy and satisfied. :)

That banana-pancake concoction looks ridiculously good. And, you and I must be on the same wave-length because I just wrote about my major transformation last night. (bottegalyla.com). Yes…MASSIVE Transformation for me in the last year in every aspect of my life. Literally…nothing about me is the same. Except my zip-code…but I live in a different building :)
