‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.
One lucky winner will receive a delicious box of 10 Glo Bars! Goodluck!

Coming up, one of our favourite recipes so far in 2011….get excited!

“We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.”
Live is too short for regrets; work hard and play harder!
((hope this isn’t too late!!))
I’ve learned that it’s not the number on the scale that matters, but how I feel about myself. And the number on the scale does not dictate that! Simple, yes, but it’s really made a difference in how I view myself. <3
One of my favorite quotes is this: “Be silly. Be honest. Be kind.”– Ralph Waldo Emerson
Sometimes I think it’s good to have a reminder that things really can be that simple :).
We can either watch life from the sidelines, or actively participate…Either we let self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy prevent us from realizing our potential, or embrace the fact that when we turn our attention away from ourselves, our potential is limitless.
—Christopher Reeve
I love that Christopher Reeves said this, I love that it is so true and I love that it fits so well with the topic of the post!
I have also learned that a scale does not make my happiness and sometimes to take one day at a time and always find a positive mOment in that day to focus on. Live each day as best I can, don’t wish it away for the future or spend it angry!
“It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.” My mom and dad always said this to me when I was younger.
AND a personal fave that continues to come back to me:
“Expect the unexpected…always!”
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” ~Eleanor Roosevelt
“dead last finish > did not finish > did not start > did not try”
:)
One of my favorite quotes:
“Wherever you go, there you are.”
Incidently, I haven’t changed homes/city/country in three years! I’ve learned that I learn alot more by being still, than by running around.
I have learned that what the scale says doesn’t determine your happines. I reached a “goal weight” at one point and still felt overweight. At that time people were telling me I looked so “skinny”, but I didn’t see that. I saw the little bit of extra weight I could lose around the waisteline. No number is perfect! I have gained some weight since then and sometimes I feel like crap but I know it’s the mental aspect I need to work on.
Only YOU control your happiness!
One quote that inspires me is “If your lifestyle does not control your body, your body will eventually control your lifestyle”
Love your blog!
I love quotes! My favorite of the moment is: “We can enjoy all the things in life worth living for – family, friends, love, our passions, etc. – even more when we are at our absolute best.” ~Kimberly Snyder
to live the life you want, create the happiness you want… there are so many, but this is what i’m coming up with at the moment :)
there will be a day you cannot. today is not that day.
one of my favorite quotes: “Decide and a way will present itself”. I probably say it to myself 10 times a day! :)
“Do the thing you fear most and the death of fear is certain.”
Mark Twain
after reading skinny bitch i automatically turned vegan and learnt about whats in the foods i eat and for the first time i realised that we eat to fuel our bodies! A simple realisation i know- but i had never realised the huge impact what we eat has on our bodies.
My favorite quote: “The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start” by John Bingham.
My favorite quote: “The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start” by John Bingham.
I happen to adore quotes!! It’s hardly to choose just one, but here it goes:
“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” ~Winston Churchill
The lesson that I learnt: weight is just a number, no matter what the scale says, as long as your pants still fit and you’re happy that’s all that matters!
