‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.
One lucky winner will receive a delicious box of 10 Glo Bars! Goodluck!

Coming up, one of our favourite recipes so far in 2011….get excited!

I was once told, “You have yo be your own #1 fan.” I have learned that I have to love myself for who I am.
On of my favourite quotes is “Pain is temporary, quitting is forever.” I remind myself of this when I hit a wall while running.
I have learned to embrace and love my post baby body. After all, it’s what gave me my two beautiful children!
“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”
My favorite quote is from Lincoln:
“Whatever you are, be a good one.”
I love it because it’s relevant to anyone, with any job, at any stage of life.
Most of us would never tolerate a significant other calling us fat, ugly, worthless, stupid, pathetic, etc. However, everday women wake up, look in mirror, and think those exact about themselves. We would surely break up with that abusive boyfriend, but we never break up with our abusive self! It is time to end our self hating relationship! We are all full of beauty, love, strength, hope, and peace! We just need to see it!

Regret for the things we did can be tampered with time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.
-Sydney J. Harris
“I ask you to live deliberately. What we do and how we do it does define us.”
– Elizabeth Edwards
This verse comforts me. :) And DO NOT FEAR for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.(Isa41:10)
My favorite quote:
A woman is like a tea bag – you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” ~Eleanor Roosevelt
I used to battle anxiety, an eating disorder, and I used to be a serious hypochondriac; however I’ve learned to be more at peace with my body, mind, and overall health by reminding myself that I AM THE MAKER OF MY OWN REALITY. I choose what makes me happy. I choose how I will let a particular situation effect me. I chose to be strong and keep living.
On a more lighter note, I’ve learned that everything is better the next day, after a good night’s sleep. No matter what thoughts stress me in the evening, they tend to all melt away come morning. Every new day presents itself with a fresh new opportunity. Move forward and don’t look back.
I’ve learned that to truly love and respect myself and my body I need to let go of pre-conceived notions of what the “ideal” is. Coming to peace and fully loving yourself is the ideal, and it’s different for everyone.
I’ve learned that things that can be easily represented (number on a scale, line on a resume, etc.) can never bring true happiness
I have a blog about holistic breast health that I don’t attend to like I should. Your blog inspires me in so many ways. Besides eating healthy and trying out some of your recipes (love, love, love, the brown rice and quinoa crackers ) I’m going to wrap my head around my blog and get it updated soon and be more consistent. Not everyday like you but “more”. Here’s one of my fav quotes:
**There is a voice in the Universe urging us to remember our purpose for being on this great Earth. This is the voice of inspiration, which is within each and every one of us.~
Dr. Wayne Dyer
My favorite quote is from Confucius. It reminds me that no one is perfect and to keep trying.
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall – Confucius
P.S. love your blog!
One of my favorite quotes is:
“Never expect, never assume, never ask and never demand. Just let it be. Because if it is meant to be, it will happen, the way you want things to be” -unknown
I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do. – Edward Everett Hale
Keep up the great work!
Have a good evening
Wow…what great thoughts to read and thanks for the giveaway opportunity! One of my favorite quotes is called “Attitude” by Chuck Swindoll (long but worth the read!): “The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes.”
As a college athlete, a motivational speaker once said to me…. “to whom much is given, much is required” ..and from the moment she said that to me years ago, I never have forgotten those words. I was/am very fortunate for all I have, therefore, it is always necessary to pay it forward :)
You are exactly where you’re meant to be :)
