‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.
One lucky winner will receive a delicious box of 10 Glo Bars! Goodluck!

My current favorite quote is:
“This is your life; do what you love and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you’re looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing what you love. Stop overanalyzing, life is simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat appreciate every last bite. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once; seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and create. Life is short. Live your dream and wear your passion.”
I relate to what you’re going through on so many levels. You’re a strong woman.
And I would love to try glow bars since they don’t sell them in nyc! :)
Take care

Here’s one of my favorite quotes. It reminds me that I’m the only person that can make things change if I’m unhappy with my appearance. It also came in handy while training for a recent competition! “If you really want a better body then give yourself an attitude adjustment and put in the effort it takes, both in the gym and at the table, to make it happen:
ive learned to count my blessings. and remembering that its the simple things in life that mean the most. why care about my thighs when God gave me such beautiful flowers to look at while im out for a walk?!?
My mom said this a long time ago, and for some reason it stuck with me, “Life is what you make it.” Simple statement but so true. So many people get stuck in a state of unhappiness, or maybe weight issues, relationship problems, etc. But you have to remember that you have the power to change your situation and get everything you want out of your future.
Favorite quote:
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
I think the most important that I have learned over the years is to try and not be concerned with the numbers and take note and realize how good you feel and how well you sleep and generally how good life is. Life is short and you should not let a number on a scale dictate how well it is going.
“The Most Common Way People Give Up Their Power is by Thinking They Don’t Have Any.” – Alice Walker
Don’t frown because you never know who might be falling in love with your smile. :)
“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or… learn from it.” ~Rafiki (Lion King)
I’ve learned that the number on the scale or the size on my clothes is something that can change. I use these tools only as a starting point (when I’m trying to lose weight) or a holding point (when I’m trying to maintain) and know that they are NOT a gauge of my happiness.
“Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
Mother Teresa
One of my favourite quotes is:
“And the time came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” (Anaïs Nin)
“Nothing hard comes easy.” Jillian Michaels in her 30-day shred video. Obvious, but we often think about what we want to do/where we want to be without committing to the work it takes to get there.
“You may never know what results come of your action, but if you do nothing, there will be no result.” Mahatma Gandhi
“People who have only good experiences aren’t very interesting. They may be content, and happy after a fashion, but they aren’t very deep. It may seem a misfortune now, and it makes things difficult, but well–it’s easy to feel all the happy, simple stuff. Not that happiness is necessarily simple. But I don’t think you’re going to have a life like that, and I think you’ll be the better for it. The difficult thing is to not be overwhelmed by the bad patches. You must not let them defeat you. You must see them as a gift–a cruel gift, but a gift nonetheless.”
Hi! I’ve been a long time reader and really enjoy your blog but have been such a gawker and have never commented before but I’d really like to share my favourite quote!
“There are years that question and years that answer”…this quote always reminds me that when Im going through a bit of a rough time and things don’t make sense I just need to trust that in time everything will come together.
I’ve struggled on and off with my relationship with the scale. I would get so frustrated and down on myself if I was working so hard and not see the number go down. I know for many of my friends, weighing themselves is part of their daily routine and it helps them track the weight. But for me, if I didn’t like what I saw on the scale it would affect my whole day. I’ve always struggled to stay in shape, and I’m not one of those girls who can eat whatever they want and stay thin, but I realized recently that I’m a healthier person because of it! If I was one of those naturally thin girls, I probably wouldn’t care so much about what I put into my body or get so into running and fitness. So now event though I still struggle with my body image a bit, I am overall content with my size and I feel like Im a healthier, luckier person because of it!
I’ve learned that the world judges us by our actions not by our intentions.
A little joke I like: There are three frogs on a log and one decides to jump off and go for a swim, how many frogs are on the log? Three. The frog only made a decision but didn’t follow through with an action. Hehe I thought it was cute and it really makes me think..I don’t want to be that frog on the log!
I’ve realized that if I’m not happy with the way I feel, only I can change myself. One of my favorite workout dvd’s says “this is tough, but I can do it.”
What I’ve learned in my life is just to be yourself, not trying to be another person, whether that other person may be a celebrity or a friend you admire. I think it’s always best to show who YOU , yourself, are to the world, instead of creating fake personalities that already exist.
