Holy smokes it’s Friday again!
I swear it feels like it was just Friday.
Yesterday’s workout was FUN. I love the feeling of renewed enthusiasm after a day off.
I did a 3 mile run:
- 3 min walking warm-up
- Mile 1: 6.0 mph, incline 2%
- Mile 2: 6.5 mph, incline 5% (such a hard mile!!!)
- Mile 3: 6.0 mph, incline 2%
- 2 min walking cool-down
Mile 2 was a LONG, hard mile. I stopped half way through to get water. After the run, I did the ab-solute workout (18 mins of abs) and Booty Booster workout from the Booty Camp Fitness DVD.
Since I have been doing strength training my appetite has gone way up! I wonder if that is because my body is expending more energy repairing my muscle tears? Either way I have been one huge Hunger Monster lately.
This morning I woke up COLD. A Green Monster or juice was not going to cut it.
I was really excited to try out this new product:
Nut ‘n Budder contains peanuts, almonds, flaxseed oil, organic sugar, and flaxseed. It is only available in Canada right now (you don’t hear that on blogs too often!). It is seriously addicting, subtly sweet, and very creamy. I had to hide it in the back of the Lazy Susan! I could *probably* find it if I really wanted to though…if you catch my drift…
Creamy PB + J Oatmeal Parfait
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup regular oats
- 1 T chia seeds (optional)
- 1/3 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup almond breeze
- 1/2 cup plus a bit more water
- pinch salt
- 1/2 banana (optional- I didn’t have one so I used chia seeds to thicken it up nicely)
Layers/Toppings:
- Strawberry jam
- Nut ‘n Budder
- peanuts
Directions: Mix together oats, chia seeds, coconut milk, salt, banana, almond milk, and water. Bring to a boil and then cook on low, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes. Take a glass and drop in a layer of jam, then oats, then PB, then oats, then jam, etc. Sprinkle with peanuts and enjoy!
YUM!
Would you like a chance to win a jar of the Almond Budder Extreme and Nut ‘n Budder?

I love anything by Nicholas Sparks or Alice Seabold.
Gee I wonder why you have so many comments today? :) I live in the states and would love to try the nut n budder!
A good read:
Master of the Game by Sydney Sheldon
It chronicles a hundred or so years of a family. Very good.
I’m gonna have to try that parfait. It looks filling and really fun. :O
My favorite fiction books were:
Dreamland by Sarah Dessen – This one is a very touching books with serious topics that teens go through. You wont really understand until you read it all the way to the end. It’s one of the few books that have made me cry!
The Likes of Me by Randal Platt – This was THE book that got me back into reading. It’s simple, small, and anyone could get into it because it moves so fast.
ANY of Meg Cabot books.
And harry potter of course.
I think I’m part of the small population of young women who found twilight to be the worst book EVARRR. Here’s a good argument as to why:

Don’t waste your time reading it. :P
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver is by fave of all time! I first read it in highschool and a few times since.
Bet Me by Jennifer Cruise. Not typical chic-lit; it’s a really funny, sweet story.
Anything Nicholas Sparks!! Especially: The Lucky One, The Last Song and The Choice. Dear John is an emotional roller coaster!!
There is no way I could pick just one favorite book, but two that I absolutely love are Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santon and Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk =)
I am a big fan of Murakami.
I’m currently reading “The Book Thief” and it is absolutely incredible! I highly recommend it!
That sounds yummy! My all-time favorite is either F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” or John Irving’s “A Prayer for Owen Meany.”
I can’t pick a favorite either but The Alphabet Sisters and The Hobbit are up there.
If you’re looking for “fluff”, anything by Meg Cabot is good. I loved “Size 12 Is Not Fat”. It’s a mystery book.
ooh – i loved the time traveler’s wife, and i just finished the girl with the dragon tattoo – SO good!
OK this is by the far the BEST oatmeal breakfast concoction i’ve ever seen!!!
this pb looks delicious! i love subtly sweet pb (my favorite is naturally more … it has a sweet and gritty flaxy taste that’s so good).
My all time favorite book is Wicked….love the book(I’ve read it so many times the cover fell off!), LOVE the musical too! The other books in the series(Witch’s Son, Lion among Men) aren’t quite as good as Wicked but definitely worth reading too. Also love the Shopaholic series!
Hi there angela i have been reading your blog now for quite some time and i LOVE it! i was wondering i live in new mexico and have no access to the actual booty camp classes but would love to try out their dvds, do you do the actual camp or the dvds, and do you know how i could get ahold of them/how much they cost?
thanks for any info, your blog is so incredibly inspiring and i look forward to it everyday!
Only you could make something look so beautiful. My sisters Keeper–Jodi Picoult, I know this much is True, She’s come Undone.–Both by Wally Lamb
Ok that parfait looks amazing! One of my favorite books ever is “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” By Jonathan Safran Foer. Absolutely loved it.
Angela – you HAVE to read Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, so good. There’s also, The History of Love, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and Still Alice is a heavy, but amazing read.
Good luck falling back into fiction!
If you’re in the mood for some historical fiction, the Outlander series is fantastic! Also anything by Lisa See, especially Snow Flower and the Secret Fan.
