We are eating like kings around here lately. Whoever invented elastic waistbands…I think I love you/hate you. [If you didn’t hear the news in my last post, I’m working away on a second cookbook!]
For my first cookbook, I relied on a fabulous group of dedicated and passionate recipe testers who gave my recipes a whirl in their own kitchens and then provided detailed and honest feedback. Recipe testers are essential to the cookbook development process (just like your recipe reviews on this blog!) and I couldn’t have produced such a solid group of recipes without them. It really takes a village! I recruited family and friends mostly, but since I received a lot of interest from my blog readers, I decided to open it up to you this time around.
I’m looking for recipe testers of all different abilities, so if you are a new cook or a seasoned pro feel free to apply. You certainly don’t have to be vegan either. My passion is creating recipes that people with all kinds of diets can enjoy. Those of you who can commit to testing at least 3 recipes per week will be given top priority as we’ll need to move through the recipes at a good pace.
I’m also looking for testers who will…
follow recipes exactly as written (this isn’t the time to make substitutions, unless suggested in the recipe),
take notes while cooking (such as noting your prep time or any areas of confusion in the directions),
submit thorough feedback immediately following the recipe (there will be an electronic form with standardized questions for each recipe).
You will also need a blender and a food processor as some of the recipes require these tools.
One last thing. Do you love to stuff your face with super delicious food? Perfect. I knew we would hit it off.
If you think you’d like to apply, you can fill out this submission form below. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to take on everyone who applies, but thank you all for your generosity in offering your help!

This is really cool! I never knew there was such a thing as a recipe tester.
Would you be required to make the dish the day we are sent the posting (if selected)? Or do you have a couple days of grace period? Just curious! Good thing maternity leave allows for lots of baby-momma bonding time in the kitchen!
Angela, I love your cookbook!
I have made a quarter of the recipes they have all been awesome. I keep making some of them over and over. (usually involves chickpeas) I would love to test new ones but I don’t usually add the oil called for so that counts me out. They turn out tasty anyway.
PS Your baby is beautiful!
I was so excited to see that you’re opening recipe testing to your blog readers! You’re blog is my all-time favorite blog and I absolutely LOVE your cookbook. I have made most of the recipes in it. I would be honored to test recipes for your upcoming cookbook. :)
So excited about your new cookbook! I would love the opportunity to be one of your testers!
What an incredible, dream of an opportunity this would be. Your cookbook is my bible and I am not even fully vegan! My kitchen is my haven so I would definitely have the time and energy to make 3 recipes or more per week. My sweetheart and family are meat lovers and I’m constantly trying out vegan recipes that adhere to their tastes, so this would really be perfect for me. Thank you Angela! <3
Yippee, what a fantastic opportunity! Thank you, Angela, for sharing! Of course I quickly sent in my application. I adore cooking, baking, assembling, and non-cooking (I work part time for a raw/vegan chef in the DC area) and am used to testing, tasting, and offering feedback on recipes. I have a very hungry family of four (two young boys ages 5 and 6) and your past recipes have proved enormously popular with the bunch. It would thrill me to no end to be diligently working in my kitchen testing your delicious recipes. I have just about every kitchen gadget known to man and feel up for the challenge be it 1 week of testing or 100! Whether chosen or not (though my fingers are crossed!) I wish you great continued success! Hurray for you and OSG!!!
I would love to have this opportunity! I’m a committed vegan and have never been the best cook, but your recipes make me feel like a professional and introduce me to new ingredients and flavor combinations. They always seem to come out perfect!
Wee! Cookbook 2.0 makes me as happy as a little dog with two tails! I’m not vegan, but am trying hard to ensure my family eats mindfully and healthily. You have helped immensely with that! My timing is very flexible and I would love the opportunity to be a tester!
Oh yes, I also agree with Ellen – nutritional info would be awesome (calories, protein, carbs etc.).
We are really enjoying the OSG cookbook in our household! In fact, my 18 month-old triplet daughters went nuts for your overnight oats recipe!
Hi Angela! I love love love your blog and cookbook! Dumb question about the blog though: Are your posts dated? I’d love to know the date that recipes were posted, but I not immediately seeing any dates on the posts. I feel like I must be somehow overlooking them! Can you point me in the right direction? Thank you!
Hi Angela,
Do you have an idea of when you will be picking your testers? This is such an exciting opportunity…I would love for me and my Littles to help out as we love your recipes! We probably average 3 to 4 of them per week anyway…might as well start giving some feedback :) Either way, good luck with your new cookbook!
Thank you so much for giving us all the opportunity to apply and be part of such a wonderful project. Everyone is clearly thrilled!
Can’t wait for the next book! I wish I could pre-order right now!
Hi, I am having trouble submitting the form, can I send it by e-mail?
Hey there! I would love to do this but I’m just wondering what the timeline would be for testing the recipes as I am travelling now and without reliable kitchen :P
Hi Angela, *waves frantically*
Super keen fan over here – I cook most of my food from your blog and am forever passing on your website to friends and colleagues. I pre-ordered your first cookbook as soon as I could. I’m following the baby section avidly in the hope one day I’ll have a little one too. All the very best with the second cook book!! Naomi
(PS I was using the classic British irony in my application when I said there was only one London – I am aware there is one in Ontario!)
YAY!!!!
and (((sharing)))
This would be a dream come true! I just love your last cookbook and would be super honored to help out with the next xx
OMG- This is SO darn exciting. Your cookbook sits on my counter. I don’t even put it away b/c I use it so often. This year, I made your granola for all my holiday gifts. I think everyone should experience the “deliciousness” of it.
Can’t wait for the 2nd cookbook! Oooooh.
I’d love to be a recipe tester (form has already been submitted)! I already take notes systematically (just for my records) when trying your recipes, so it’d be great to put that habit to good use. I live in France (originally from California), so it adds an interesting element to see how I’m able to make these recipes come alive a world away. Congrats on your progress thus far!
This is an awesome idea! Your recipes are amazing and I love that you’re from Oakville! I’m really interested in this opportunity. I trained to become a chef in Europe but I’m much more interested in learning on ways to become even more healthier.
