We are eating like kings around here lately. Whoever invented elastic waistbands…I think I love you/hate you. [If you didn’t hear the news in my last post, I’m working away on a second cookbook!]
For my first cookbook, I relied on a fabulous group of dedicated and passionate recipe testers who gave my recipes a whirl in their own kitchens and then provided detailed and honest feedback. Recipe testers are essential to the cookbook development process (just like your recipe reviews on this blog!) and I couldn’t have produced such a solid group of recipes without them. It really takes a village! I recruited family and friends mostly, but since I received a lot of interest from my blog readers, I decided to open it up to you this time around.
I’m looking for recipe testers of all different abilities, so if you are a new cook or a seasoned pro feel free to apply. You certainly don’t have to be vegan either. My passion is creating recipes that people with all kinds of diets can enjoy. Those of you who can commit to testing at least 3 recipes per week will be given top priority as we’ll need to move through the recipes at a good pace.
I’m also looking for testers who will…
follow recipes exactly as written (this isn’t the time to make substitutions, unless suggested in the recipe),
take notes while cooking (such as noting your prep time or any areas of confusion in the directions),
submit thorough feedback immediately following the recipe (there will be an electronic form with standardized questions for each recipe).
You will also need a blender and a food processor as some of the recipes require these tools.
One last thing. Do you love to stuff your face with super delicious food? Perfect. I knew we would hit it off.
If you think you’d like to apply, you can fill out this submission form below. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to take on everyone who applies, but thank you all for your generosity in offering your help!

LOVE your new cookbook! I just bought it for my mother-in-law’s birthday and she loves it as well. Who wouldn’t? ♥
Kk- I was so excited to see that youve put the call out for recipe testers! I Filled out the form and then had no clue how to submit it. I’m hoping that doesn’t automatically disqualify me from entering. Eek. I posted it to Pinterest in a desperate attempt. I GLoW thanks to your blog and cook book and am super pumped for another book:)
Hi Angela!
I am beyond excited for your second cookbook. I’ve tried every recipe in your first cookbook and have never been disappointed. I am one semester away from graduating with my BS in nutrition. You are my go-to blogger and cookbook author when I offer nutritional advice to individuals looking to improve their diets. You are such a beautiful and inspiring woman. I would absolutely love to test recipes for your new book! Good luck with everything!! xoxo
Hi Angela,
This is an amazing opportunity, thank you. Your recipes already monopolize my kitchen, I don’t even remember the last time I used someone else’s….
So just a quick question, I know that many people use crazy amazing blenders like vitamix, I just have a more simple one, would that be enough?
Crossing my fingers to be chosen as a recipe tester! I’m guessing the selection will be random? If not, I’m willing to supplement my application with a “glowing” essay on how much I love your recipes and writing style! …see what I did there? ;)
Either way, I’m so looking forward to another cookbook from you!
Yay! So happy you are coming out with a second cookbook! It would be an awesome opportunity to be a recipe tester for you. Sending warm wishes to you, Eric, and Adriana.
I was so excited to see that you’re coming out with a new cookbook and opening recipe testing to your blog readers! I absolutely love your first cookbook and have made most of the recipes, some even multiple times. OhSheGlows my favorite blog and I would be honored to test recipes for you. :)
I’ve enjoyed your recipes for years, ever since a friend turned me onto green monsters. You’re a wealth of knowledge, and thanks to you, our family incorporates lots of healthy plant based meals into our weekly menu. Even my 1 year old loves it! As a yoga teacher, you’re my first recommendation when students ask for help with finding plant based recipes. Thank you for all that you do Angela, my little Noemi and I would be honored to test (ahem, taste) your new recipes in our kitchen! BTW, double thank you for taking care to encorporate a healthy dose of chocolate as well ;)
Since my pregnancy, and now journey as a breastfeeder and mama, I’m more conscious about the iron content in our food. I’ve referenced your pregnancy post on the subject a few times, and would love to see more of that in your book. Nutritional information, and even more samples of a daily menu containing the proper protein and iron.
Congrats!! This is so exciting! I’ve been a long time reader but I don’t comment often :) I’m a pretty advanced cook and vegan and love your first cookbook. I would absolutely love to be a tester if you have a need for more experienced cooks with vegan cooking experience (and my husband will help cook and taste as well!). Again, congrats on all of the happy big events lately and thanks for the delicious recipes!
I have plenty of time and energy to test-away right now! I was a bit of an OSG mad-woman during the Vitamix contest. My family and I would be more than happy to lend a helping hand for round two. BTW, thanks for using my quote in your Most Popular Healthy Recipes post. :)
I wish I could commit to 3 new recipes a week as this is a fantastic idea. I always get annoyed by all the comments you get saying your recipes “look amazing”. I don’t disagree with these comments, I just wish there were more comments saying, “I just made this and everyone including my two super fussy toddlers loved it!” …or something like that :) It is nice to know the recipes are tried and tested by yourself and the less experienced chefs like me. This reminds me, I need to comment on your Crispy Smashed Potato, 10 Spice Vegetable Soup, and Blissful Blueberry Banana Spelt Muffins because…I made all three and everyone including my two children loved them. Thanks! :)
This is amazing! I love your book and your recipes and I’m not even vegan. Would love to test for you. I also live in Ontario.
I would really love to do this. I’m not vegan or vegetarian, but I’ve loved all your recipes so far. They’ve all turned out well, which means a lot to me! I have tried other vegan recipes from multiple blogs and had some ‘meh’ results, which makes it harder to convince my man to eat more plant based foods haha! However, with your recipes, he seems to be satisfied :)
Hi Angela!
I absolutely love your cook book. After 3 years of vegan cooking and using many different cookbooks, yours by far has the most delicious and easy recipes.
I would love to be considered to be one of your recipe testers. I graduated from a great university business school but after meeting my fiancé I didn’t really need to work anymore, and I’ve been cooking full time ever since! I have the time and love your recipes!
What a fun opportunity! I’d love to help out! I’ve submitted my application form I have just loved all your recipes and I recommend the website and cookbook to people all the time! Looking forward to cookbook #2. Congrats!
I discovered your blog last year and it quickly became my go-to site for recipes. I got your first cookbook for Christmas and it is used daily! The kids love the power bars, the healing tea and vegi-burgers. Even my devoted carnivore husband is happy when I pull your book out for meal ideas!
Like everyone else I’d love the chance to test out and feedback, what a lovely opportunity for folks!
What a delight this would be! I too, have your first cookbook and love it. Very excited about book number two, and would consider it an honor to be part of the creation. I just want to say that I appreciate your creativity, attention to detail, dedication, and sense of humor. I look forward to seeing “Oh She Glows” in my InBox! I am available and believe have met all of the requirements. So Exciting!!
I have always wanted to be a recipe tester! Mainly because there have been many times when I’ve tried out a recipe and had questions — is that measurement for melted butter or solid, how do you measure and use coconut milk from a can, by ‘rolled oats’ do you mean old-fashioned oats or the quick-cooking 1-minute oats or the instant oats, etc. Sometimes I’ve been unable to even try a recipe because it was too confusing (not any of yours specifically, I just mean recipes in general can sometimes be confusing). I think it is so important to make sure a recipe is clear, and — whether or not you choose me personally as a tester — I love that you’re getting people to test your recipes to make sure they’re understandable and available to all. That’s really awesome. :)
My husband and I have made the lifestyle change to eat a plant based diet about 18 months ago. We absolutely love your cookbook and look forward to your next one. I would be delighted to prepare and test your recipes for the new book.
Happy Cooking!!
This sounds like so much fun! I am a retired RN and am always looking for exciting ways to strengthen my culinary skills. Your first book was fabulous!
