Happy Halloween!
Before I get to part 1 of the giveaway, I want to share a last-minute Halloween idea.
I present to you: Spooky Shakes…
They are more homely than scary, but let’s just go with it!
I spotted this on Martha and I thought it was a cute idea. To make: all you do is melt a tiny amount of chocolate (about 1-2 tbsp) and then paint chocolate ghost faces on the inside of the glass using the end of a popsicle stick. Easy.
Place the glasses in the freezer or fridge to set the chocolate. For the shake, I blended vegan vanilla ice cream (I love almond or coconut varieties), with a splash of almond milk and some ice, served with a cinnamon stick. You could even make a healthier shake by blending frozen bananas with almond milk. The chocolate faces stay intact thanks to the cold smoothies.
Now, for part 1 of the giveaway…
Today, I’m celebrating YOU – the kick-butt, Green Monster chuggin, recipe-lovin’ Oh She Glows community! On October 31, 2008, I started the blog on a complete whim, not thinking I would ever have the attention span to stick with it, but here I am 4 years later still smashing my head against the keyboard daily and chasing my dreams. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who read the blog each day and my hope is that you find as much inspiration here as I’ve found in all of you.
Now, to celebrate!

What a great question!
My advice to younger me is to worry less. I want her to know that, in the end, she won’t have regretted anything that she did or anything that happened.
I also want her to know that she is beautiful and to step away from the scale sooner.
Carla, 16 is a time to make mistakes. Let people in, let people help you, let people love you. The world is not so unforgiving as you may think. Being vulnerable and accepting the support that people give is not being weak. You can be strong, but accept the love that is offered to you.
I am only 20, so there’s more that I could probably tell my future self rather than my old self! But I would say listen to your gut, and if your heart is not in it, don’t do it. Don’t pressure yourself to do more than you can handle, be realistic. Love your body and yourself, and keep learning and traveling. Don’t be so afraid of yourself, and yes, you will learn how survive social situations :)
I would tell my younger self not to be afraid of success because I deserved it.

I just pinned your baked apples recipe! I live in a Co-op with 59 other women, and it looks like a lot of our apples are not being eaten, so I may request that I make these for our Saturday brunch!
Pinned!!
I’d advise my younger self to stop buying fake ID’s, and to choose a major based on my passions instead of based on practicality.
I would tell myself to savor the moment! It only lasts so long! And to never miss out on an opportunity. What’s the worst that could happen? You only have one life to live, live it!

I think I would tell myself to believe in me and that even if things don’t go as planned, life is still beautiful. And not to worry, someday you’ll feel like you belong and that you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. And to be nicer to your mom ^-^ Thanks for the great giveaway and Good luck for the future !
I re-pin one of your recipe : http://pinterest.com/pin/94927504617238367/
Live every day in the moment, don’t stress about the past or the future.
I would tell my younger self that no matter how bad things may seem at the time, it could always be worse, and hard times will pass So, appreciate the things you have, and who you are instead of finding everything that is wrong with myself. Oh, and down the road, this guy will show up in your life. Run.
I’d tell myself to try a green monster, try going dairy-free, and try vegan recipes! The recent changes that I made to my diet have changed my life, and I wish I had stumbled across this solution for my digestive disorders a long time ago. Thanks, Angela, for your recipes and expertise that you give to all of us so freely. You really are helping to empower people to improve their quality of life!
I would tell myself to just be me. To not worry about what other people think and to be confident in myself.
Glad I have the perspective to think this way now!
I would tell myself to not care at all what other people think. Just be who you are and who you want to be. You don’t need approval from other people to feel complete or worthly.

I would tell myself to stop trying to chase perfection and to be more accepting of myself and the mistakes I make.
