Benefits of Technology: Free Workout Videos

December 15, 2008

Morning everyone!

Well, if I thought yesterday’s weather was bad- today’s is 10 times worse! It is pouring rain out, windy, etc! Oh well, I hear it is supposed to go up to about 8 degrees celcius today so that will be a nice change. :)

Today is an off day from running, to rest my body after the past few days of fairly intense runs.

I woke up and stumbled over to my laptop- and searched some workout videos on You Tube for some cross training. :D

Here is what I did:

It was a tough 25-minute workout! It was a nice change from the regular treadmill. I still want to buy some workout DVD’s in the near future after I do some more research.

But, you can’t complain with technology these days- nothing like a free workout at your fingertips!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After my workout, I had a quick breakfast of Spelt cereal, pomegranate seeds, and Almond Breeze Milk as I blogged:
Did you know:
  • Pomegranate fruits contain polyphenols, tannins and anthocyanins – all are beneficial antioxidants. Interestingly, pomegranate juice contains high levels of antioxidants – higher than most other fruit juices, red wine or green tea.
This weekend was my first time trying a pomegranate…ever! I have had juice before but not the actual seeds. I took a photo session of how to prepare a pomegranate, which I will be posting in the near future!
I still am not hooked on the taste and texture (you are actually crunching through a seed!), but overall I do like it as a topping for cereal or salads.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On today’s agenda:

  • Appointment with Podiatrist @ 10:30am (I am picking up my orthotic insoles!!!!! WHo hoo! Which means less running pain)
  • Road to Health Part V (b)- over lunch break
  • Work (Boo!)
  • Dinner
  • Walking on treadmill (~2 miles)
  • Blog 3 new beauty product reviews
  • Wrapping, unpacking, organizing, pack lunch, etc!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
See you later for My Road to Health Part V (B). See last night’s entry for part A as well as parts I-IV!
Hope you have a healthy day filled with great food and an active body!
The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.
Thanks for your comment. I’ve been eating the same foods for literally years. I have a very long past of eating issues, but I’ve come a very long way. I’m insanely healthy, but have no variety for fear of anything new making me gain weight. Since I know what I eat won’t make me gain, I want to stick with that…and JUST that. But I’m making progress and have come a long way over the past 8 months and have really increased my calories and even lost some weight. Got out of that “starvation” mode.
I love pomegrante!
I also had pomegranate for the first time ever a few weeks ago. I tried it on its own & mixed in w/ some chocolate pudding for a dessert but I don’t like biting through the seed :(
I do love it as a topping for crunchy cereal though because you don’t really notice the seed when you’re biting through all that crunch!
mmm, pomegranates :) careful with the new orthotics, you need to wear them for a bit at a time so your body gets adjusted to them. and start with shorter runs, too!!
