I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).
I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.
Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.
ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.
Thank you for all your love and support!!
I’m late to comment but just wanted to extend my congratulations and warmest wishes to you and Eric on your beautiful baby girl! How incredibly exciting!!
If you are up to sharing your birth story, I know I would certainly be interested in reading it (I’m due with my first baby in early January so I am a bit fixated on birth stories at the moment!).
CONGRATULATIONS!! This is the happiest of posts :) I’m so happy for you and your family. I took a hiatus from the blog world for awhile to get some things in order and when I returned I found out you were pregnant and then a week later you gave birth!! What an exciting month :)
Congratulations! She is absolutely beautiful, and the two of you look great also – very relaxed and content. Have fun! :)
Congratulations, you two! What a precious gift! Enjoy every moment!
Congratulations and best wishes to the three of you. Welcome to the world, Adrianna!
Congratulations to the whole family! Adriana is such a beautiful baby girl. All the best wishes to the new bundle of joy and her parents.
Congratulations! I visit your site all the time and rarely comment, but I wanted to say how much your recipes have enhanced meal times around my house. Your book is an absolute gold mine, and your site continues to bring delicious things into my kitchen almost every day (I’m not even exaggerating)! And I have to mention that your daughter and I have the same birthday. I can tell you from several years’ experience that it’s a pretty darn good one! :) All the best to you and your family!
Heavily pregnant with my first baby my cousin said to me ‘and just when you think you really can’t do it for a moment longer and you panic madly? that is the moment when you must just hang on because it is your body telling you that you are almost done’
Those words… totally saved me when push came to… well PUSH!
You never know what little bit of YOUR story will hold someone’s hand and walk next to them when the road becomes a little too steep and the doubt creeps in.
much love to you and your beautiful Adriana and her daddy
thats so beautiful Sanja! and so true.
Congratulations!!!! She’s beautiful. I love the name Adriana. It’s just lovely. Enjoy every minute….
Speaking as a childbirth educator and IBCLC it is is important for us to share our positive birth stories. Embrace this tender new time with all it’s intensity and challenges. It really will get better and better.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! She is gorgeous! And so is that name, I just love it. So happy for you and your new little family! :)
Congratulations!! So happy for you all! And she does look like her daddy!

You have so much to look forward to and be amazed how fast it flies by. Congrats!! I would love to hear your birth stories and just what milestones she’s making, you’ll be amazed when she start cutting the first tooth, you get soooo excited:)
Congratulations Angela!! She is beautiful (and looks just like her Daddy!) =D I would love to hear your birth story!
Hi Angela!
I usually don’t comment on posts or blogs in general, but I have been following your blog for two years now and I am so, so happy for you and your husband!
Adriana is so beautiful and I know you’re going to be an absolutely fabulous mom.
Congratulations and enjoy! :)
Congrats! The real question is, what’s she gonna be for halloween?! She’d rock any costume ;)
a carrot! lol
CONGRATULATIONS! She looks exactly like her father. What a little doll :-)
I’m so happy for you both. Enjoy these first weeks! Adriana is a pretty name :-)
P.s. My internetconnection was lost for days (sometimes it is like living in the Stone Age here). And this morning I finally got connected again and I saw your post.
She truly is a sweetheart – my heart fills with happiness for all three of you. The pictures just ooze love and pride, all the way across the globe :)
Enjoy these precious first days, weeks and months… they are magical, sleepless, emotional and truly wonderful. I join the choir: I’d love to read your birth story but it can all wait!
And finally: the vegan diet has always given you a very special glow, but I dare say that motherhood has granted you a glow that no food can create. You have never been more beautiful :)
All the best for all three of you,
Kristina from Sweden.
WOW SHE’S BEAUTIFUL! Look at those EYES! You both look very healthy and glowing. Enjoy every blessed second because it goes super fast.
Warning, unsolicited advice: Let Dad and baby form their own routines that might be a little different from yours. I made the mistake of just taking care of everything for my husband and a year went by and he still didn’t feel comfortable changing diapers or bathing our baby. It’s tempting to just figure everything out yourself, but let Dad do some work too :)
Congratulations!!! I’ve been checking OhSheGlows.com daily for at least 2 weeks now, waiting for the baby to arrive! Thank you for showing the world that you can be 100% vegan and 100% healthy (Baby AND Mom). I’ve been a lifelong vegetarian. Attempting to go vegan for a couple of years. Your site, your lifestyle, and your family inspires me everyday.
God bless your Glowing Family <3
Welcome to the world Adriana!
My birthday is Sept 21st too.
I bet your mom’s favorite song will be Earth Wind and Fire’s song “September”. The first lyrics to the song are ” Do you remember the 21st night of September”.
Enjoy your new baby girl…..
She’s so beautiful! Congrats! and yes, I would love to hear a birth story!
Congratulations!!! So happy and excited for you.
She’s daddy’s girl for sure!
Congratulations, Angela! She is perfect and you all look so happy! Enjoy this time. I won’t tell you it goes fast, because for me it didn’t–in the very best of ways. My little guy just turned 20 months and it feels like he’s been with us for so much longer. We’ve really tried to live in the moment and enjoy him at every stage (even through the rough patches), which I think has helped the time to not speed by. So yeah–enjoy this time…and everything to come. :)
And I think I’m simply adding to the general consensus here, but I would love to read your birth story!
Huge congrats Angela! Love to you and your beautiful little family xoxoxo
Congratulations on Adriana’s arrival to this world, both of you look very happy and you’ll make great parents. Make the most of this precious time, it goes fast but every stage brings some exciting moments. Wishing you lots of family happiness x
she is beautiful, and tiny.
blessings to you all.
A sweet daughter, a new mom and dad. What a precious trio! May God bless you all for always
I am so happy for you! And I must say that she picked the perfect day to arrive. She now shares the same birthday as my little niece, Grace, who just turned 5 years old. She is beautiful.
Congratulations! Your little love is absolutely beautiful and you look radiant!
She is absolutely gorgeous! I would love to hear the birth story (:
Congratulations
I LOVE birth stories. I loved writing mine. I like the fact that it’s there to read and re-read. Enjoy this sweet precious time. xo
Congratulations Angela and Eric! Adriana is absolutely perfect! Being a labour and delivery nurse, I see a lot of newborns, who are all so precious, but Adriana is exceptionally beautiful! You all look radiant! I love that you are living in the moment and just taking each as as it comes. It is so important to be gentle and patient with yourself when you have a newborn. Congratulations and good luck over the next weeks and months, as you discover the joys and challenges of parenthood and 3 am feeds. I would absolutely love to hear your birth story!
great picture,congratulations!!
Congratulations. She is perfect and glowing! A gorgeous baby! Yes, please share her birth story!

Congratulations! I’m so excited for you and your now +1 family :) What a joyous occasion, indeed! And, she’s absolutely beautiful.
We are 32 weeks right now ourselves, ready for our little bundle of joy around (American) Thanksgiving-time. I’m definitely starting to think about the actual birth more and more, and would love to hear any part of “the story” you want to share!
Congratulations again!
Congratulation!! She’s lovely…oh you’re all lovely..best wishes for all of you..
Sending lots of kisses for baby Adriana
Oh, she is gorgeous!! What a little doll. When I opened my recipe blog e-mail from you today, I thought…”Oh, I wonder if this is the news she’s had the baby?” I forgot you’d put up a different page for news about her! I would definitely like to hear the birth story (don’t most moms?) and could you please tell us on the recipe page when it’s there? Don’t want to miss it. :)
Best news!!! You’re absolutely glowing and she’s beautiful and daddy is beaming. Just awesome. Please share the birth story. Always exciting hearing others journey to baby bliss! Take care! :)
Congratulations to your sweet little family! What an adorable addition and you’re absolutely glowing in these photos. I can’t wait to see what Adriana thinks of your cooking (there must be baby recipes in the works, right?) I’ll be bookmarking them hopefully for the not-too-far-off future. ;) Enjoy these special moments. xo.
Congratulations to you and your husband! She’s so precious and you look amazing- just glowing!
Congratulations Angela and Eric! She is beautiful and I hope everyone is doing well! I love your blog and the cookbook is fabulous!
Angela, I am so very very happy for you. I used to read your blog faithfully, but have been off for awhile since I started back to work after my three kids! I am so thrilled to see that you have a beautiful new addition and hope to hear lots about her.
My sister has raised her kids vegan and I am so interested to see your new adaptations for
kid fun and food vegan style!
Just got myself a copy of your book and am loving it to bits!
Take care, and hope you get enough sleep.
Julie
Congratulations!

Congratulations on a healthy and beautiful baby. I wish you many happy years of love. I love being a mom. There is no greater love. Blessings to you and your husband.
