Happy Labour Day! I hope you are enjoying a lovely day off and are sleeping in right now!
I like to spend my holidays by getting up at 4:15am. I am sick like that.
Let me rewind to last night…
The Dizzy Bizzy Board was stressing me out a bit. Actually, it was giving me the spins and I decided it had to go ASAP. ;)
Really, this was just an excuse for another Michaels trip… ;)
I emerged with new scrapbooking paper and the will to make a less dizzy & bizzy vision board.

I decided that I would use a solid background colour (orange) and then accent with prints. Problem solved.
I have been using these double-sided photo stickers and they work like a charm!

They come right off with no tearing. I also used a photo glue stick for a couple sections when necessary.
Here is the new vision board:

Much more easy on the eyes. ;)
I think it actually matches better with the warm colours + wood!
Side by side:
Some close ups…

I like the ‘Trust’ over the heart!

What a fun project!
Eric also hung this frame in a new spot (it used to be above my desk before the Mykonos painting went up).

The bookcase is still a work in progress, but it is getting there!

Then I went through all my personal and business files.
When I was done, I moved my new 2010 file to an easily accessible spot by the fax/scanner. If it is out in the open I am much more likely to use it!

Then I operated on our printer that all of a sudden decided to stop working this week! Hrmph.

I got it to print black ink, but it is still rejecting the magenta ink that we installed. Very strange. I think we might have to get it serviced. Luckily it is still under warranty.

This morning, I stumbled downstairs at 4:15am and ate some delicious vegan overnight oats that were waiting for me. It made getting up for the race a bit easier. :)
Pre-Race Hydrating Mango & Strawberry Vegan Overnight Oats
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup oats
- 2.5 tbsp chia seeds <– lots of chia seeds because they are great for runners & very hydrating
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1/2 mango, cubed
- 3 strawberries, chopped
Here it is last night when I mixed them up. The mango was so good in this.

I better get on the road so I am not late!
Just a reminder that today is the final day that you can vote in the Portabella Playoff! Thanks for your support everyone. :)
It’s time for me to run like the wind….Eeeeee.

Good luck with the race!
YAY the new vision board looks great!
I agree that the oranges match the warmth of your office better than the first board, although I did love that one as well. This is such a great idea! As a scrapbooker I think I will give one of these a go when I get a free day soon.
Best of luck for the race!
Alice
xx
Good Luck with the race! Have you tried Mango Soft Serve yet? I have been mixing it with our overnight oats is oh so good!
Much better! And I agree it ties in with the other oranges in the room. You’ve inspired me to do an inspiration board, haha. x
Good luck with the race – you’re going to rock it!
I actually love both the vision boards, and I’ve decided that I’d like to live in your office. I LOVE it!!
I was up at 5 am for my holiday too. There’s no such thing as holidays when you’re a mom and HAVE to get work and writing done early in the am. Oh to sleep in…LOL!
Good luck at the race!
Good luck with the race – I hope you will have a fun one! :)
I liked both vision boards, but have to agree that the new one is easier on the eyes – and it fits beautifully in your office.
That breakfast sounds delicious before a race! Good luck!

Good luck with your race!! I’ve seen quite a few bloggers do vision boards and they’re such a great idea- I love the change in background, too. I want to make one!!
Good luck at the race! I can’t decided which version of the board I like better. They’re both cool.

I hope you’ll be fast like a tornado :D
Hi Angela,
I’ve been wanting to try overnight oats, but I don’t know if it takes a special kind of oats. Can I use the slow-cooking, steel-cut oats in the overnight recipe? Thanks and best of luck at the race today!!
Hi Cami I am not sure about the steel cut oats…I *think* I have heard someone using it before but I am not 100% sure.
I just use regular rolled oats.
Goodluck! :)
Thanks Ange, I’ll give it a try. We may be talking about the same kind of oats -I use McCann’s.
Oh, and congrats on your super-fast race today!! :)
The board looks great! And you’re so right the colors go so much better with the room, without the dizzy effect :) good luck on the race today!
P.S. I had my first on the road Glo Bar yesterday… it was fantastic. Obviously ;)
thank you!!! have fun :)
Good luck on your race!
Do you ever find that Chia gets bitter when you make it?
For some reason, I can’t get over the taste.
PS – I made the pumpkin oats this morning and I’m in bliss.
No I have never found that they are bitter…hmmm wonder why you experienced that!
Good luck on the run!!! Love the new board. Both were cool but its much much easier on the eyes :)
Your new vision board looks great and the orange colour matches really nicely with the painting that it shares a wall with. Nice work!

Your vision board looks great!
What a productive day for you! I really need to do some organization, so hopefully these posts will kick me into gear.
I am commenting a little late, so I hope your race went well!
I am an organization freak! Getting up at 4:15 and organizing stuff sounds like something I would do.
I love the photographs of your rings!
Gorgeous!
your board looks great! You are right, it was a little too busy before ha!
The new background looks great. Everything on your vision board sticks out better now!
I hope the race went well! :)
Those boards look so creative and good! I hope your race went well! =)

Good luck on the race!
I thought I liked your first board but I like this one even more! Mine will be posted tomorrow. Good luck in your race – can’t wait to hear how it went! :)
GO get Em! Run like the wind with those chia seeds! That is my ideal fuel too. :) Can’t wait to hear how it went.
Your vision board, looks so much better! I heart Micheals too.
hahaha why would you have a sticker that says “i’m a quitter!” on your vision board?!
It’s an inside joke….ALSO a famous print by natalie Dee (see here: http://www.nataliedee.com/) AND I happen to think it is funny since I quit my job and there is usually a negative connotation with quitting but sometimes it can be a positive experience! :)
This is so true! Quitting a relationship that is not healthy for you can be awesome! I just did that today and I feel GOOD!!!
Im happy for you!
Good luck! and I LOVE the new vision board!
Love the new vision board! Good luck with the race!
I love the original, but you’re right, the new one looks better!
Love the board! And just a heads up, rubber cement also works great for paper projects. It dries flat and doesn’t warp photos, AND you can still peel it off and reapply if you didn’t like the layout.
thanks for the tip!
Love the boards. Much better the second time around.
Voted on your mushroom recipe–you’re kicking butt! Way to represent Canada! It looked delish, can’t wait to give it a try.
Good luck on the race!
thank you!
Race looked like a lot of fun! I haven’t run one in a while, maybe this fall I will try a few! Kind of in a fitness funk, so a run always gets you back in the mood!
I love your second vision board. The plain background makes everything else really pop and stand out. You have inspired me to make one now.
Congrats on running a great race today! The sunrise pics are beautiful!!!
I like the new board as well!
That bowl of VOO looks AMAZING!!!
CREATIVE!!!! wow, time well spent i think!! <3
I love that Greek painting! You have reminded me of how much I miss Michael’s (I am no longer living in the US)!
love the natalie dee pic
