The ‘Dear Body’ portion of SGBC really spoke to me. It was really hard at times to face the truth of what I had put my body through in the past but as a result I am so much more appriciative of my body now! I can also do 30 ‘real’ push-ups!! I couldn’t do 5 before this! Thanks Angela!
I have really enjoyed summer boot camp! I’ve learned how to break away from what feels “comfortable” and “safe.” I’ve switched up my workout routine and strength training and learned to love exercising all over again. I’ve also tried new foods and have started to change the way I look at myself. I’m sad to see it end but I’m so glad I did it. Thank you!!
I absolutely loved your post on setting goals: not only did you show us step-by-step the best way to set and achieve a goal, you used great examples from your own experience! I think that’s what makes OSG so great – the combo of great tips and your own take on them!!
Thanks for a great SGBC!
Maggie
I learned new fitness moves and tips on gaining confidence!
Wow Angela!
I can’t believe it’s only been 9 months! Look at how much you’ve done! It’s such an inspiration.
Truth be told, your site was a very big reason why I too started blogging. I saw all the positive support, advice, and information you were giving to your readers and I realized I really wanted to do that too!
Cheers to you!
I definitely love that I feel stronger in doing many of the moves that I now seek out the harder alternative to them! I loved all of the plank moves you introduced me to.
Overall, I just really liked the variety of themes throughout your posts and the guest posts. Even though it’s a “bikini challenge” you did an excellent job keeping in mind why we want to be active and how its beneficial in other ways besides how we look at the beach.
SGBC helped me think about my goals more! I loved the goal setting steps you provided for us. Usually I just go go go, do do do without even thinking about thinks. This process really helped me appreciate it all even more!
Really, just that little moves add up to big changes!! Push-ups, wall sites, crunches, etc are not complicated moves and no equipment is needed but man do they pay off!!
Hi Angela! SGBC has helped guide me toward a healthier outlook on life. I’m in college and after gaining the ‘freshman 15’, I’ve been trying to lose the weight. It’s hard, but reading your posts have helped me realize that just losing the weight isn’t enough because being a certain size can only take me so far. Because of SBGC, I’m beginning to start my own journey and learn how to appreciate and love myself as well.
my favorite post is the feeling good in summer clothes and the discussion about friends/family towards a healthy lifestyle. every post had me thinking long and hard after i finished reading, only emphasizing how important a healthy diet, lifestyle, and mind really is. thanks angela!
I really enjoyed your latest vlog. I think you really talked about things that we all feel every now and then. The exercise slump happens learning how not to dwell on it and move forward is very important. I sometimes feel guilty when I have to miss a day of working out but really is it going to kill me..no! That vlog was just what I needed this week.
SGBC has been so fun, and it has helped me stay motivated this summer and having a calender telling me what workouts i should do today. and especially the green monsters!! yumm i look forward to one everyday and making new recipes! id love to win the amazing grass!!!!!
The Dear Body post was really amazing. It was very personal and I want to thank you for sharing it. SGBC has helped me not to be so critical of myself. I can do squats and pushups and that makes me feel good. Its given me a routine I can do consistently.
SGBC has given me strength physically and surprisingly, mentally. It’s motivated me beyond belief and made me proud of what I’ve accomplished.
SGBC has taught me some different exercises I may not have otherwise tried, and kept me going through the month!
Happy nine months!!
My favourite post was the no-makeup post. I don’t think of myself as wearing a lot of makeup, but I still do put SOME on everyday and I often wonder why I do! I can’t lie though, Sephora is one of my favourite stores!
SGBC helped change up my regular routine. I loved having a calendar for the month, and looked forward to what was scheduled, because I knew it would be different than anything I would have done on my own–whether it was trying a new exercise or reading an interesting/informative post on your website. Thanks for organizing all this–can’t wait for the next one!
Wow SGBC has changed my life, no exaggerating(sp?) here. I have formed a new love for exercise and have committed myself to the elliptical and treadmill 5 days a week. Wiithout this program I wouldn’t have started up exercising because I was in a slump. With all of your tips and personal stories I was given the tools and motivation to start back again. I just want to applaud you for your efforts once again and am so grateful to have found your blog.
Happy 9 months!I really enjoy reading OSG because your posts spur such great discussions!
The SGBC positively impacted my life with all the motivating write-ups and of course the awesome guest workouts! It’s been great having some new strength training moves to add to my routine.
