I first heard about the 6-word love story on Valentine’s Day, when I read Tara Parker-Pope’s NY Times article.
The idea originates from Smith Magazine, home of the Six-Word Memoir Project. The website has all kinds of six-word memoirs on everything from teenagers to food. They asked their readers to offer six-word memoirs to describe both love and loss in their life.
Some of the replies include:
Hearts clubbed by diamonds in spades.
Passion, fireworks, good loving. He’s gay.
Apart now. Together in big picture.
Love yourself; all else will follow.
A new kidney from my brother.
Your new wife is too friendly.
I can’t walk; he doesn’t care.
Met at 16. Married at 55.
Lifetime love. Just six months done.
Finally found love, at age 41.
Note to self: avoid head cases.
Loved her madly — then went mad.
Pathology class, I saw her, forever.
Facebook stalked. Party meet. Love complete.
He interviewed me. Married twenty-one years.
She fed me. Me wed she.
Warning, love: I blog my breakups.
Suspending dreams now for our health.
Age 62: Match dot com successful!
In the morning, she made pancakes.
Fell in love. Then fell out.

I decided to come up with some of my own…
Me anxious tornado, you calm breeze.
Fire plus Earth, somehow it works.
Laugh lots, fight fair, forget often.
Showed me how to love myself.
Six foot two, he’s all legs.
Five foot four, she’s all heels.
Some things I can’t say here.
New girl at school. Eyes Met.
Admiration for each other, inspires change.
After eleven years, stomach still flips.
Will never understand men fully. Amen.
Mutual goal: To see partner happy.
Found each other. Split. Found ourselves.
Someday we’ll figure it all out.
I hope we never grow up.
If I could sum it all up I’d choose:
Respect, the foundation. Appreciate, every layer.
Me Anxious tornado , you calm breeze. is a close second though. Eric said, ‘I’ve never been referred to as a calm breeze before!!’ lol.
Eric said:
Stole My Heart With A Smile.
What would you write?

Awe I love this!! I can’t wait to have a new man to write a six-word love story about:)
I loved this one you wrote- Found each other. Split. Found ourselves….SO good! love it!
Reading this made me really happy! Especially the one Eric wrote – “stole my heart with a smile.” You both have such a great way with words.
Love this!
Everything I never knew I needed…
This is such a beautiful idea, I loved looking through all of them. Mine, addressing my Type A personality, and my past relationships, is:
You can’t try to predict love.

He’s quiet, I’m loud: perfectly imperfect. <3
Hi Angela!
I just want to say that I just got into your website and I’m so happy I did. Now I wish I had gotten to meet you at the foodbuzz festival in SF :( Next time
I made your avocado lime black bean salad tonight and it was great! I’m going to tackle your quinoa maple cereal, vegan Parmesan and vegan Alfredo sauce this weekend! Wish me luck (mostly so that my honey doesn’t notice it’s vegan. He’s skeptical of veganism, yet he’s never tried any of the food. I think I can win him over with your food! I was reading Eric is 75% vegan? How is that going? Is it hard to have 2 different eating habits in the same house?) <—longest conversation in parenthesis ever!
Anyway, thanks for being great! :)
Love,
Christina
haha you are cute! Thanks for your kind words. :) I’m glad you enjoyed the BBS!
Eric has no intention of becoming vegan but he is very open to eating vegan meals now which is great. He now only has meat maybe a couple times per week (at work). For a long time, I made two different meals, but he found out that he enjoys what I make now so he stopped buying meat for the house. He will probably buy it a bit more in the summer when he fires up the BBQ though.
Love is better the second time.
can hear your words, before spoken
The perfect gentleman took his name
reading down these quickly and had to stop at yours, so sweet
