I’m bursting with joy to tell you that our baby girl, Adriana, arrived Sunday September 21st at 1:34pm, weighing 7 pounds and 20 inches in length. She decided to arrive 1 day before her due date – fooling her mama entirely because by that point I was convinced she was coming a week late. Not long after I published my 39 week post on Saturday, I started going into early labour (I just didn’t know that’s what it was at the time!).
I never knew life could be so crazy happy (or crazy challenging, for that matter). It’s like we’ve known her all our lives. I’m not normally a person who relaxes a great deal, but she’s shown me how to live in the moment and enjoy the right now. I feel like my life has a new sense of meaning and purpose and I’m really excited to get to know her a bit more every day. One thing is for sure, she has a great dad and looks so much like him. I can’t get over the hilarious facial expressions she makes. We have laughed so much in the 4 short days we’ve known her.
Ok, Adriana says it’s feeding time once again! Back to it.
ps – I’m thinking about sharing our birth story on here, so let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.
Thank you for all your love and support!!

Yay, big congrats to you and Eric on your new arrival! I absolutely love the first picture, you look so happy and motherhood definitely suits you.
I’m a sucker for birth stories, so I’ll vote yes and I can’t wait to see the nursery “after” photos. All in due time though, just keep enjoying these moments with her and get plenty of rest! :)
She is adorable! Congratulations to you and Eric! So happy for you both! (She does look a lot like her dad, btw) :p

So happy to hear your little one arrived safe and sound. Absolutely would love to hear your birth story. I have a little granddaughter born Oct 4th 2013 and she is just the best. The birth of my children and grandchild have been the best experiences of my life. That said the first month is tough, it gets better hang in there.
Congratulations she’s beautiful. Yes would love to hear about the birth story, please share!
Congratulations, she is so beautiful (but with such good looking parents not a surprise)!
Would love to read your birth story, they are all so different. In the Blog world I have been so lucky to of read a number of them and I think it is the one of the special things about todays world that we get to share things with people all over the world. Enjoy these wonderful first weeks, they go so fast so make the most of it. Sandra

Ditto to all the many comments above. What a lovely – and loving – family! And, yes, I’d be interested to hear your birth story.
Congratulations! Happy to hear that both of you are doing great! You are glowing with joy and happiness! And your daughter is adorable, wish her a healthy and happy life with her parents :)
So, so precious! When they open their tiny little mouths, newborns really remind me of baby birds. Congratulations to you both! Now you are a family of 4. I look forward to hearing more as the months go by.
Welcome Adriana!!! Congrats Angela and Eric. Beautiful baby girl ! Can’t wait for the birth story!
this. is. EVERYTHING.
xoxoxo
Congratulations!! Welcome to the world, Adriana!!
I agree wholeheartedly, Angela! Being in the presence of our first little newborn brings us wildly into the present moment like none other. Congratulations – she’s gorgeous. I love her little outfit on day 1!!!!!
I also really want to say thank you so much for sharing your life, pregnancy journey, family and now, beautiful daughter! And thank you so much for being an example of what an honest, humorous, capable, loving human being is! I truly love reading your stories, thoughts and recipe creations. Your work is so valuable to me.
With the exception of 3 recipes remaining – YAY!!! happy dance – you gave me the good fortune and pleasure to recreate every recipe from your cookbook, for me, my family and my neighbours (and many 5 x’s over – they’re sooo delicious!!!!!!). I had a fun idea to complete the book by the time you gave birth, hehe and you just beat me to it. Lol! Thank you so much Angela for helping to improve my well-being, my satisfaction to eat healthy and my love for the art and preparation of food. I’m forever grateful.
My very best to you and Eric as you enter this new dimension of life. The transformation into motherhood (and fatherhood, I’m sure) is, and always will be the biggest challenge and discovery. Our son was born Jan 2013 and was definitely a long awaited dream come true in my life.
I’m interested to hear about yours and Eric’s birth story, whenever you feel up to it. ;)

Congratulations! She is adorable and I hope all three of you are well.
Love your blog and I keep following it from Germany since a couple of year now. I am really happy for your little family =)
Congratulations with your beautiful girl! And please share your birth story! You’ve been an inspiration for us through your entire pregnancy, you can’t leave that part out now! ;) Looking forward to reading it here :)
Congrats on your new sweet face in the house :) Would love to read the birth story.
How beautiful and adorable! Love the name :) Congrats!
Congratulations! Adriana is a very cute baby :) I hope you and Eric are able to take the time to enjoy being a family while she’s soooo little and get used to being parents before returning to work/the blogging world. It must be an overwhelming, but special year for you, with first the cookbook (that I enjoy immensely, btw) and now becoming a mother.
On the sharing of the birthing story, I think that you should only do so if you are really comfortable with it being online. It’s probably much more personal than the pregancy updates. But this is really something that only you can decide.
Wishing all of you all the best!!
