OSG Readers:
When I first asked Angela if she would mind doing a contest to help get our site out there, I wasn’t sure what the response would be. Baby Enchanted hardly fits into the categories food, fitness, fashion, or fun…well, maybe baby fashion! But the comments you left us – the compliments, the referrals, the excitement, the bookmarking…really blew us away! My husband and I sat and read through every single one. Baby Enchanted took us almost a year and a half to build from scratch before we went live about 3 months ago and we are really proud of it, so to hear the same things that we think about it echoed in your comments was an incredible joy. Thank you to everyone who participated, congratulations to those who won, and an extra special thank you to those of you who took the time to tell others! ~Bree
Isn’t she just the sweetest person?? :) Thanks Bree! And congrats to the winners!

Here is my new favourite morning routine in action!
Broccoli or Wheatgrass juice:
Just disgusting I tell you! lol. Like the shot glass? haha. I swear this stuff is worse than a shot of tequila.
My new loose leaf tea steeper arrived yesterday along with the William Ashley shipment:
You can see my legs in the reflective mirror on the pot!! ;)
I have been dreaming of one of these my entire life.
Guess what arrived in the mail last week?
A surprise shipment from my sister Kristi!!!!
A box full of Teaopia products along with a Teaopia gift card.
She got me a huge bag of the Japanese Sencha, Coconut Cream, and a Fit Active tea for fitness enthusiasts! I love the Sencha and Fit Active, but I have yet to try the coconut cream. I think I will today. :) This tea and gift card will keep me going for a long time!
And then of course a Green Monster:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup hemp milk
- 4 cubes ice
- 1 T almond butter
- 1 T chia seeds
- 5 sprigs dandelion
- 2 organic kale leaves
- 1/2 pear
- 1 scoop Amazing Grass Wheatgrass powder
- Squirt Kyolic Garlic
- 1.5 t Maca powder (loving this stuff so much!!!!)
My insides are grinning from ear to ear. So much energy flowing through these veins!!!!
Resting my Legs:
Yesterday I didn’t go on my planned run because I was not feeling it at all. I was feeling tired and not fully rested from my intense runs last week. So I decided to skip the run and wait until I felt better. The last thing I want to do is get this far and then do something stupid and hurt myself or burn myself out the week before an important race. I am hoping to get out today, but that will depend on the weather. Right now it looks like rain so I’ll have to see. If I don’t run today I will do my treadmill hill workout for some X-training. :)

Everything you need is already inside. Just do it. ~Bill Bowerman
Good job taking a rest when you need it Ange! This week, although some running is probably good to do, you are far more likely to do harm than good by pushing yourself. You’ve put the work in already- “one last run” or “one last speed session” isn’t going to do anything for you. Enjoy the cross training and resting.
Kristi- sorry to hear about your toe! I’ve been there and it sucks! I don’t have any suggestions that haven’t been already mentioned, but do enjoy the strange bruising and colours that your toe and surrounding foot will turn!
Such fun giveaways! And to your sister… use the toe as an excuse for those around you to wait on you hand and foot… Ooooh, my toe hurts, can you please ahnd me the remote? Oooooh, my toe is bothering me, can you grab me a water please? LOL!!!!!
Consider it done! lol
Thank you all for your sweet comments and to my litle sissy for being so thoughtful!!! I am sure I will be better in no time :) Swimming it is….pilates sounds fun too. I am just going to take it easy for now.
:)
Hi sister! I’m sorry you can’t exercice these days, but what about taking that time to read a book about health, take a longer bath, do things for you? :) Enjoy the down time.
i think through her “rest” days she could enjoy other things that she love. Perhaps, reading or baking or taking pictures?
taking a long rest from fitness could really help in recovery and balancing with oneself.
Growing wheatgrass is great and I did it. However, for people with busy lifestyles it’s almost impossible to find the time to grow, tend, juice and if I travel I want to be able to take it with me. I found some that is grown Aeoponically, soil-free, fungus free and includes the roots which include cancer and other disease fighting nutrients. Just put it in your sports bottle with 8 to 12 ounces of water, shake and you’re good to go. It’s freeze dried and the nutrients come to life when blended with the water. I found out about it at a health food store. You can get free samples at www.BestOrganicWheatgrass.com by filling out the form on the home page.
Awww, I feel so bad for your sister! I am the queen of “off-your-feet” exercising, being that I had bunions surgery on FOUR toes (2 on each foot) all at the same time this summer. It’s not easy to stay off your feet, but if she wants to heal, she’s going to have to take it easy for a while. My best suggestions are Pilates, weight-lifting, and an exercise ball. When she’s feeling up to it, another great one is riding bike! Hope she feels better soon, and I’ll be sure to tweet about this giveaway Angela!

Hope you feel better Kristi! Maybe you could try exercises on the floor such as abs and arm exercises!
Just tweeted the giveaway!
Hi I love the shot glass!
Kristi – I hope you feel better soon. Try not to be too down just becuase you can’t exercise, your body needs rest right now and it will appreciate the rest you give it! If your leg is sore you could focus on upper body moves for your exercise. An idea might be using a large exercise ball to support your legs and do push ups or punch a boxing bag while supporting your legs by sitting on the exercise ball. Good Luck xoxo
Just remember Kristi that this is a small stepping stone in your life that once you get past will make you stronger! Be thankful for everything you still have and can do.
Since you can not run maybe you could work on strength training moves, such as lef lifts while laying on your side. And I’m not sure how well this would work but maybe you could try to only used the middle of your foot and heel to push the pedals on a bike machine for some cardio.
Oh boo for broken toes. Kristi, I say take a break! Your pigs will enjoy that!
What a cute giveaway!
I tweeted!!
Obviously running and other impact exercises are out for your poor sister, but she could still do upper body strength training. Which is definitely better than nothing.
Feel better soon!
Kristi, I hope your toe feels better soon! Maybe you can use this time for extra flexibility. If you’re anything like me, it’s easy to skimp on stretching when you’re trying to balance working out & the rest of life! Use this time to take a breather and stretch away!!
Yikes…good thing it’ll heal pretty quickly (I hope!!). I would take advantage of this time to do some ab exercises and upper body weights! I hope it isn’t too painful and that you are getting around okay!!
Awww…. so sorry to hear about your sister’s injury. Working out with an injury is no fun. With a toe injury, I think running on an elliptical would be suitable. Hope she gets well soon. Cheer your sister up by baking her something special and naming it after her. It always cheers me up when someone bakes me something. Or make a psudo-edible arrangement flower arrangement for your sister.

Aww, Kristi, hope your toe feels better soon! Just think – it could have been an arm or a whole leg! Much better a toe if you look at the whole picture (or body, in this case).
LOVE the loose tea pot!! I’ve been eyeing one from Mighty Leaf for a while, but just don’t have the funds to buy it yet … I have many bags of loose tea at home and love them, but it can be such a hassle to brew.
Maybe a Christmas gift to myself – what do you think? :-)
