I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

Raw Aura’s “Sour Cream and Onion” kale chips!
This is so sweet of you. Favorite vegan food is definitely any type of soups..black bean soup with a scoop of brown rice is my current fave!
kale chips : )
I am always into a good vegan cupcake. They can be tricky to make at home (for me at least), but sooo worth the effort!
My favorite vegan food/treats is the Luna & Larry’s coconut chocolate vegan “ice cream.” So rich and yummy! :d
Green monsters are my favorite, made with almond milk. Until reading your blog, I stayed away from spinach. Now I am happy to say I enjoy eating it!
I have never tried their product but I love Sweets from the Earth peppermint nanaimo bars!! They sell them at Noah’s and Panacea in Toronto!
Your vegan chocolate cupcakes!!!!! I caved and made them for my daughters first birthday. well…. she had chocolate free ones. But I didn’t! ;)
My favorite would have to be kale roasted in the oven (kale chips) massaged with hummus, nutritional yeast, lemon, avocado, and hot sauce!
Thanks for the wonderful opportunity!!
ohmygosh how to choose ONE favorite ‘vegan’ food from so many options! I have a love affair with roasted vegetables, and a helpless addiction to hummus. I lust for everything you cook and photograph on ohsheglows. I hope to add “One Lucky Duck” treats to my list!
My sweet tooth gets the best of me. Raw vegan deserts are my favorite! Especially frozen :)
I love vegan cashew cheese sauce with nutritional yeast! I like it even better than some real cheese sauces.
Anything with Kale…. so yummy! and now with the holidays I love soy nog and vegan pumpkin pie.
My favorite vegan food is definitely brown rice with tahini sauce and sauteed kale. I guess that’s more of a meal, but I LOVE tahini!
Ahh, so many yummy things to choose from! I’d definitely say one of my favorite vegan staples are Green Monsters made with almond milk (and almond milk in general!). Another favorite is Coconut Curry Veggies with Chickpeas. My mother in law makes this, and she tops it with salted pistachios!! So delish!!!!
Not to brown nose or anything, but I made Vegan Overnight Oats for the first time and had it for breakfast today. Sadly I have been wishing my day away so I can enjoy it again tomorrow morning, I didn’t add the banana but I added Cacao Nibs (first time ever eating Cacao Nibs….*Homer Simpson style AAAggggGGGhhhHH…..) and my topping was just agave syrup in the morning. Drool Face! Can’t wait to try different toppings! Thanks for all the ideas!!
One of my favorite vegan foods is nutritional yeast. I use it all the time! Love that cheezy flavor!
Anything “cheesy” I love making nacho cheese and Mac and cheese out of absolutely nothing that sounds like cheese! Ad it’s SO NUTRITIOUS AND CREAMY! :)
This giveaway looks absolutely amazing
I like to throw garlic, an onion, a bunch of kale, a can of garbanzo beans and some nutritional yeast in a pot and cook it all together until the kale is wilted. Its mega easy and so yummy!
Go Raw spicy flax snax!
