I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

I have a few…kale chips, almond milk and pumpkin not all together ofcourse but I am sure you could come up with something ;)
It’s got to be vegan marshmallow bars! I discovered a recipe a few weeks ago and I’ve made so many batches since…my aim was to bore myself with them so the cravings stopped but it isn’t working so I keep making more!
Of course I love lots of healthy vegan things too…but it’s important to treat yourself and indulge from time to time, which is something I never used to be able to do. So I’m loving this new-found food freedom!
My favourite vegan food has to be vegan pumpkin scones or vegan cinnamon rolls!

My favourite vegan-raw food is an avocado-lime pie with a ginger buckwheat crust. It’s perfect to reward yourself!

If I must pick: Smoothie with ripe mangoes, fresh pineapple and orange juice! It’s liquid love<3 But I have so many favourites.
My favorite vegan food is quinoa, seasoned with turmeric, black pepper, lemon juice, basil, oregano, and celtic sea salt, combined with chopped sundried tomatoes. Yummy! I also love kale chips and Hail Merry’s blondie macaroons.
This time of year its Westsoy’s chocolate peppermint drink!
Today, that would be your namaimo bar recipe because my son asked me yesterday when I was going to make some for the holidays….and I’ve been thinking about them ever since.

Too many amazing raw/vegan foods have been added to the list after visiting the Whole Life Expo! Fruit & nut bars, RawFoods spreads and dressings, chia seed anything, raw cocoa truffles…the list goes on…and on……….and on :)!
and can’t forget kale ‘chips’…yummyyyyy…sprinkled with gluten free tamari :)
I’ve been wanting to try Lucky Duck products forever! Hmmmm, my favorite vegan food is probably Brad’s Raw Kale Chips (or any kind of kale chips)!
