‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.
One lucky winner will receive a delicious box of 10 Glo Bars! Goodluck!

Coming up, one of our favourite recipes so far in 2011….get excited!

Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?

This is so true. After baby #2 I got serious about eating healthfully and exercise. I lost 40 lbs. and was the smallest I’ve been since high school…and my body was still not what I considered ideal. That’s when I realized that you have to work with what God gives you. Focus on the upward, then the inward, then the outward. It’s a lifelong journey.
It’s a simple one, but sometimes it’s really what I need to get motivated
“just do it!”
Just a few inspirational words that have gotten me through times when I am feeling discouraged or have lost motivation:
“Think you can, think you can’t; either way you’ll be right.”
And my all time favorite reminder for life:
“It is WAY more fun to love people than to NOT love them.”
And everyone knows that love is the ultimate glow ;)
I’ve learned to be thankful for my health and that things that you think matter, matter a whole lot less once you have a child. I wish I could tell my younger self not to worry so much about everything, especially my body!
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
— Albert Einstein
I love that one!!!!
Great Quote!!
My favorite quote is “there will come a day when you can no longer do this. today is not that day.” it applies to so many facets of my life that I always try to remember it when facing challenges.
That is my husband’s personal mantra when he rock climbs and does ultramarathons.
Self-confidence is PRICELESS! (Self-doubt and obsessiveness are just not worth it.)
‘Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday” is a significant quote in my life. I have a tendency to worry about tomorrow, the day after and the day after that (and let’s not forget to worry about five, ten years down the road). When I remember the quote I try to embrace, and be a part of, what is happening TODAY!
What I’ve learned so far this year is that, when I eat better and engage in physical activities because I ENJOY it, I have positive physical results without trying – and that makes me feel balanced and beautiful!
Dr. Seuss quotes are always great!
“Say what you want and be who you are because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
“Never look down on someone unless you are helping them up”.
I have learned to love how strong my body is and that it looks best when it is taken care of and utilized, not at a specific number.
Easy!
Never take anything for granted.
Not your health, your friends, your family, etc. Life is so much better when you keep that in mind. It’s harder to complain that way! Haha
This post comes at a really appropriate time for me as a pregnant girl who just got told I’d gained too much weight at my appointment today. I just wrote a blog post summarizing my thoughts on this, but essentially, I need to constantly remind myself that the numbers on the scale are fleeting, and I shouldn’t build something so important as self-worth on something as unpredictable as shifting sand.

“You wouldn’t allow someone else to beat up on you, so why would you do it to yourself?”
I love Glo Bars!!!
BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOU!!!
I think the best thing I’ve learned over the last few months is that if I simply take care of myself and respect myself, then everything else kind of just falls into place.
I’ve also discovered that I’m a pretty good cook! :)
Many times in my life, I’ve come back to this quote: “It’s better to light a candle than curse the darkness”
It reminds me to always stay positive and forward thinking!
I’ve learned that I am ME and no one else. Comparing myself to others – how they look, what they eat – all it does is make me feel bad about myself. I’ve learned to focus on me and working towards my health, without comparisons to others.
My favorite quote is by Thoreau:
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve always imagined.”
I never imagined my life having a number associated with it. Only happy memories. :-)
