‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.
One lucky winner will receive a delicious box of 10 Glo Bars! Goodluck!

Coming up, one of our favourite recipes so far in 2011….get excited!

You can do anything for 1 more minute or for 1 more mile or 1 more anything. Never give up!
”It’s impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all – in which case you fail by default.” J.K Rowling
-Why be a stick when you can be thick.
-Fuck the urge, don’t purge.

This favorite quote of mine is by Audrey Hepburn
“The most important thing is to enjoy your life,to be happy.”
We have such short lives, and it’s so important to live in the now, embracing all the beauty that is often overlooked. We learn lessons from the difficult things, and that makes us stronger and braver. To be beautiful in your skin is the best beauty truth around. It’s not about the things that ornament your life, but the way you live it,with positive energy each day.
“Fate is like a strange, unpopular restaurant filled with odd little waiters who bring you things you never asked for and don’t always like.”
— Lemony Snicket
no one will love you more than you love yourself… so treat yourself right! the more you love yourself, the more others will love you :)
A lesson I have learned is that perfect doesn’t equal happy – being imperfectly perfect is just fine for me!
Best thing I’ve learned: it’s ok to cry, and it’s ok to allow yourself to be angry. Once you allow for it to be, it will pass.
“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” ~ Christopher Robin to Pooh
I think all scales should be sold with this thing written in the user manual. We tend to attach too much importance to the number and forget that who we really are is actually the most important thing.
I guess people outside of Canada and the USA are not eligible but I will share a quote I love anyway :) :
“Just living is not enough,” said the butterfly, “one must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower.” – Andersen
What a wonderful quote!
It’s not who you are that holds you back, it’s who you think you’re not. ~Author Unknown
I have a bad habit of competing with myself. It’s never easy, but I try to give myself some breathing room, because the more I stress about how slow I ran or the workout that I didn’t fit in or the cookies I ate too much of, the worse I feel overall. So I aim to get out and do what I can so I can be the best person (wife, mother, me!) that I can be!
“Be the change you want to see in the world.” -Ghandi
Instant inspiration!
My favorite quote :
And then the day came, when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful
than the risk it took to blossom.
“What is strong? Is it your fastest time or your worst day?” and “Strong is what’s left when you’ve used up all your weak.”
My favorite quote would have to be…
“To know that you know, and to know that you don’t know – that is the real wisdom.”
Something I always try to think about when I’m going through a rough patch…”It could always be worse.”
Anything is possible with the correct mind set, prayer and lots of heart.
My favorite (and the one keeping me sane right now” is “Progress, not perfection”. Such a good reminder!!
My favourite quote this week: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift….that is why it is called the ‘present’ “.
