‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.

First of all: 609 comments! You go girl!
But as a mother of two, one of my favorite quotes from a girlfriend is “This too shall pass and something else will take its place.” That thought has often gotten me through some rough spots with a sense of humor.
A favourite quote of mine:
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”
One of my all-time favourite quotes (From Le Petit Prince):
On ne voit bien qu’avec le cœur. L’essentiel est invisible pour les yeux. (“One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”)
One of my favourite quotes comes from the show “Cupcake Girls”: “Well behaved women never make history”. I find it adorable!
“My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging.” Hank Aaron
I have learned that if I feel like crying, I just need to smile and laugh instead. I believe that good can come from any situation. I just need to try and look for the lesson involoved, how I can grow to become a better person, and move forward. And in the end if the above mentioned things don’t work, I just focus on being positive and moving forward for the benefit of my two boys. Many days they are the only two things in the world that keep me going! :)
my favourite quote: “if you’re going through hell, keep going.” -Winston Churchill
it helps remind me that the only way out of difficult times is to move forwards through them and not run from the pain or avoid it.
don’t skip dessert. :)
One of my favorite quotes/lyrics: “life is something you’re not caught at” from the song Warmer Climate by Snow Patrol – actually the whole song is a really powerful awesome message :)
I think the key is to listen to those who are older, wiser and have more life experience. My mother, although she is no longer with us, speaks to me in so many ways: in my conversations with my own daughters I find that my words are often hers. I guess when I was younger she thought that I wasn’t really listening to her but apparently I was because I cherish her words which come to me so easily now and provide such comfort.
Food is not my weakness, it’s my strength! *B
“Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.” -Edward Stanley
“It takes no talent to hustle.”
These are 2 of my favorite quotes that help motivate me for my workouts!
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you feel alive, and do that, because the world needs people who have come alive.”
YES!!! Love this quote!
“Progress not perfection….” it is a very simple quote that keeps me focused, calms my anxiety when I wish I could have done something better, and motivates me take a moment to relish in the small moments, improvements, or accomplishments.
A very wise man once told me that “Everyday is a good day, just some are better than others”. I try to live my life with that positive outlook. He told me this on his deathbed after a long battle with cancer. If he can have that outlook, so can I!
I just read this quote as a guiding life motto today and loved the simplicity of it: “Overprepare then go with the flow”
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?” – Marianne Williamson
I would say I’m still just starting my journey, but this is a great quote!
”Progress not perfection” That is what I have learned to apply to all areas of my life while recovering from an eating disorder. It’s powerful.
I am learning to stop obsessing. I am learning to stop beating myself up every time I don’t think I made a good choice whether it was not exercise enough or eating too much. I love your blog and can relate to many of the same things you write about:) Thanks for being an inspiration to me!
There is no quick fix and the goal should not be to lose weight. The goal should be to live a healthier, happier life. Slow and steady.
