‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!

When reading the book ‘The Kind Diet’ (which immediately caused me to go vegan), it totally flipped the meaning of diet in my mind. Now instead of associating it with hunger, starvation and weight loss, I now think about the healthy balance of foods I put it into my body, all with the goal of living happier and longer. I love it :)

one lesson i’ve learned (and am still reminding myself of): remembering that what’s right for and works for other people, isn’t necessarily right for me. from how i eat, to exercise, to how i do my job or treat other people. it’s up to me to determine how to live my happiest life!

Whenever I feel like giving up or slacking on my workouts or eats, I turn to this quote. Works like a charm!
oh those glo bars! Yes please!! Ok, my favorite quote: what’s on you will destroy you, if what’s in you can’t sustain you….meaning the your character has to be strong so that your gifts and talents don’t destroy you when big opportunities and just ‘life’ in general happens. I live by this…it means so much to me.

When I were a kid, I played handball and my parents have spent so many hours driving me to practice and home and to games and tournaments and… yeah, you get the picture. My dad used to tell me (the quote actually came from my uncle): “I’ll rather drive a thousand times to your practice, than one time to the police.”

Wow! What a response to TODAY’s post! I know that I’ve been following your blog religiously this summer, but to see so many other people doing it to is really great and I hope it helps you realize how important and special your work is!
As a teacher and avid reader, I have a ton of favorite quotes, but one I’ve adopted from my husband is “…not with that attitude”.
Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed, down, anxious, or otherwise sure I can’t accomplish what I want or what is asked of me, my husband tags that on to the end of whatever I say…so for example, “I’ll never be a writer…” “not with that attitude”. It just reinforces that I can do whatever I want as long as I keep myself out of my own way.
The best part is that I say it to my (high school) students when they are complaining or doubting themselves and they always smile or laugh and then get to work doing what they thought they couldn’t do.

Great quotes. Mine is a mantra I learned at yoga teacher training last year:

Honestly, I don’t see the point in owning a scale. If it makes you unhappy, then get rid of it!! We always get rid of other things that make us unhappy such as toxic friends, why do people hold on to the scale?
I totally agree! I don’t keep either around. Good energy breeds more good energy, and that’s a much better way to live life!
One of the biggest lessons that I have learned is, ‘life is short and the older you get, the faster it goes’. It is amazing how quickly times flies.
This past year I finally turned my life around after years of unhealthy and unhappy living. I joined a gym, learned that working out can be fun and started watching what I eat more.. Numbers tell you nothing, it’s the way you feel inside that counts! And so while the numbers haven’t changed all that much, I feel SO much better, healthier and happier inside! What greater thing in life is there?
