‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.
One lucky winner will receive a delicious box of 10 Glo Bars! Goodluck!

Coming up, one of our favourite recipes so far in 2011….get excited!

My favorite is “you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be in this moment.” Really, right now is all we have, and whether you’re content where you are or not, it’s right for this instant.
Wow, I love that quote! Thanks for sharing :)
“I took the body my mother and father created, and made it my own”
They cycles? They stop with me. :)
I struggled with an eating disorder in the past and every day is still a test in self acceptance and love. Our bodies do so much for us every day and they should be treated with the kindness and respect that you would give your dearest friend. You dont expect perfection out of the ones you love, and you shouldnt expect it from yourself.
“Life is meant to be lived.” I say that to every doubt that I have about myself. I find that taking note of the happiness and fulfillment that a huge salad or a rest day or a chocolate macaroon or a hike in the mountains brings me, depending on the day :) helps me realize that feeling great is of utmost importance in health. And being that I have a body that allows me to enjoy all of these things, I know that I’m on the right track.
P.S. Gosh, I really want to win these Glo bars. They’re my favorite. :)
“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” ~A’nais Nin
When I finally learned to give up processed diet foods and my fear fear of certain foods (avacado, coconut, etc) and embrace real, whole foods! Your recipes have certainly helped!!!
When you start to feel sad or bad about yourself, do something that makes you happy (i.e. read Oh She Glows!). Even if you only have a few minutes, it will help you overcome the blues.
From my days in the hospitals and treatment centers, around the other beautiful girls/women that thought they possessed characters that made them inferior to the rest of the world-and from my family during the time that I believed this too-I learned:
‘Your imprint on others is emotional. THINK about what kind of mood you capture, embody, and unintentionally inflict on others. That is what will remain after you’ve left the room.”
–sorry i dont know who said this :(
and from my faith in God I’ve come to appreciate the quote:
“If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But i arise in the morning torn beetween a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.”
–E.B. White
and of course one i use quite frequently: “you are stronger than you know”
thank you so much!
I’m sure someone’s used this already, but it’s one of my favorite quotes:
“Be the change you want to see in the world.” – Gandhi
One of my absolute most important lessons in my life has been to live in a space of gratitude. Being grateful for everything, big, small, and in between allows me to create the best life ever!
Thank you so much for the giveaway!
“You look restless, let’s get you to the gym” — My husband, knowing that working out always makes me feel better!
Wow! I can’t believe how many comments there are on your post already! I know there is no chance I will win the GloBars with this many people, but I’d still like to share my favorite quote.
“Ask yourself: can I give more? The answer is usually: yes” – Paul Tergat, marathoner
I ask myself this question not only when I am out on a run, but just in general on an ordinary day. There is always something I can do to help others or help myself.
Well, I am learning daily to accept myself and my life which can be difficult at times especially with my lingering anxiety issues. One quote I go back to time and again, however, is, “Whatever the Mind of Man can Conceive and Believe, it can Achieve.” W. Clement Stone.
Trust me, when I am having an especially difficult day, I repeat this saying over and over again. It is my daily mentra. To make sure I never forget it, I have this quote posted on my computer at work.
I’ve learned many things along my journey, but I think one of the biggest things I learned was “to love myself for who I am at this exact moment in time, not for who I will be 5 pounds from now, or after one more workout…” This is from a book called “Intuitive Eating”, which I definitely recommend!
– Small steps lead to big changes.
– Nothing tastes as good as fit feels.
– Don’t think, just run.
I have a problem not living in the moment. Just about every Sunday I talk about how I wish I could relive the weekend. It’s even worst on vacations when I start to dread the end of the trip on day 1 of 7. I get so caught up on the end of things that I forget to enjoy the “now.” with that said, I’m trying to apply the following quote to my life, “dont cry because it’s over, smiled because it happened!”
“…if you work really hard and you are kind, amazing things will happen.” Conan O’Brien
Thanks for the giveaway. I’d love to try your amazing bars!
The Starbucks Cup….and my favorite quote..
I read this on a Starbucks cup, probably close to two years ago – when the cups still had the quotes on them…
“The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating – in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your INTERNAL CRITIC, from the fear the likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life”
For years I lived for my “internal critic” , or for what my mind told me other people wanted. After almost a year overseas – living really only for myself and what I wanted to do, I finally learned how to commit to myself.
Now I’m not perfect and still hear that critic, but I have committed to questioning what it has to say – to ask myself if the voice inside my head is really working in the interest of someone who loves herself? and if not – what do I have to do to reorganize those thoughts.
Things you are invariably most committed to are the things you love/enjoy the most? Commit to myself is my biggest lesson – and challenge.
I’ve learnt to have no regrets. It’d be so easy to get bitter about parts of my life, but then, they’ve shaped who I am. I wouldn’t have the same passions or be the person I am today if it weren’t for my experiences. Besides, what on earth is the point in regretting?? It’s a wasted feeling, cos you can never, ever change the past!
(PS – I love that ‘goal life’ quote – I often think like that too :-))
