‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.

One of my favourite quotes (and it’s not really a quote because I’m sure tons of people have said some version of it) is “Don’t get so caught up in trying to achieve your goals that you forget to enjoy the journey.” I thrive on goal setting for many reasons, but this quote is always in the back of my mind. It’s a bit like a little kid wishing that they could be a grown up so that they could eat cookies for dinner or stay outside and play after their bedtime. Recently, I’ve been trying to focus just as much on enjoying the journey towards my goals as I have been on achieving them.
Every little thing counts. Don’t fear that a day of induglences is ruining your life. Tomorrow is a new day. These are all little mantras that help me :)
I’ve learned that there is always someone worse off than myself. I think about this time and time again – when I’m annoyed at my job, when my hair won’t cooperate, when I can’t find pants to fit me. I look at “irritating” situations in my life and think, “well at least I have a job, at least I have an insane amount of thick hair, at least I have legs that walk and money to buy clothes.” It makes me feel grateful about the simplest of things in my life and allows me to not take anything for granted.
This is a very touching post, I have been struggling with similar feelings. I have learned that when you are trying to lose weight, working out and eating become much less fun. Now I focus on being healthy and experimenting with food and exercise which is way more fun. Life isn’t about a number on the scale it’s about living happily. Thanks for doing the giveaway, you are a very inspirational person! :)
That I am not defined by my body. I have a body, but that is not who I am. Each day I get to choose who I am, and the more I let my mind and my soul rule my body, the more my body will reflect who I am.
My favorite quote is from Winnie the Pooh:
Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
Quote, from my MIL I’m loving right now is: If mummy is happy, the house is happy.
I’m trying to be the happy mummy.
Hi Angela,

My favorite quote is:
“and the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”–anais nin
over the past year, i have learned that i’m trying to build a healthy lifestyle – NOT reach a ridiculous goal weight. that means i don’t restrict myself too much, and i start each day with a fresh outlook on life. i’ve learned to be gentle with myself and listen to my body!
I know that I am of worth ‘cuz God don’t make no junk! I love that quote for the scale — it is so true. :)
a person’s worth is more than what they weigh or what they look like. value who you TRULY are, not what you look like on the surface.
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”, it was on the inside of the cap on my tea and has just stuck with me. It’s my mantra when I feel down and I carry the cap with me in my purse.
“Nothing is impossible. In fact, the word itself says: I’M POSSIBLE” – Audrey Hepburn
My favorite quote, courtesy of former Notre Dame football coach, Frank Leahy: “Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of stupidity.”
One person can make a difference. I learned that while volunteering in Nicaragua last week and it’s true.
One day at a time…
One of my favourite quotes is simple: “Be prepared”. It never hurts to be ready for what comes our way, and this short little phrase is a good reminder to be as organized as possible!
So long as we are in conflict with our body we cannot find peace of mind. –George Feuerstein
“You Miss 100% of the Shots you don’t take.” -Wayne Gretzky.
I have always loved this quote ever since I was in 6th grade and it continues to be my most favorite. =)
“The journey of 100 miles begins with a single step.”
