‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.
One lucky winner will receive a delicious box of 10 Glo Bars! Goodluck!

Coming up, one of our favourite recipes so far in 2011….get excited!

THe scale is just a number. Just.a.number.
“What is the point of being alive if you don’t do something remarkable?” – John Green
My two favourite inspirational quotes are:
“Anything easy ain’t worth a damn” – Woody Hayes
and
“Whether you think you can or whether you think you cannot, you are right” – Henry Ford
And the most important thing I have learned on my current journey is try it, you might like it!
I learned that the ability to maintain your healthy weight and happy life is all about finding balance. Balance with your food, exercise, friends and sleep. Anything in extreme does not work, especially deprivation. I find when I eat a balanced meal, I feel my best. I find when I do a balanced workout, I feel my best. I once trained for a marathon (which I completed) and I gained weight, and was constantly exhausted because my body was so out of balance – it was too extreme.
I am a yoga instructor, and I constantly teach finding balance with the mind, the body, and the spirit. Sometimes we have to fall out of balance to find our balance.
What I’ve learned so far is that when you don’t know what to do, or you are struggling in a moment or a situation, always choose kindness. Go in the direction of your kindest nature and your most open heart. Then I find the words I speak are true, the actions I take are gentle and I have no stress and no reason to hide or be hard on myself. Being kind is acting out of my truest nature.
Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle – O’Toole
‘Persistence beats resistance’
I have learned if you are persistant you will acheive your goals. I keep this phase in my head as I attempt to acheive success.
“Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
I’ve learned that when it comes to my health and fitness, I need to ‘just to it.’ I’m not sure where the following quote came from, but it reminds me that taking my health into my own hands is a conscious decision – “Every day you decide to work out you make a decision to benefit your health. This is no small feat. Be proud of yourself for making your health and well-being a priority.”
“I want to live my life as a bride married to amazement.” – mary oliver
i realized that in order to truly experience all of my life and to love every minute, i had to nourish myself from within and from without.
you have truly been a part of my healing journey. thank you
Everything in moderation, including moderation. =)
My favorite quote currently is: “Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.” by Greg Anderson. I think this really is an important thing to take into account.
“A butterfly….when pursued is just beyond your grasp, but if you will sit down quietly,
it may alight upon you.” Nathaniel Hawthorne
I could go on for a couple pages but I don’t have the time. Right now I am also going
through a “SIMPLIFY” stage in my life. It is just so cleansing! Thanks for the giveaway!
Feeling good about yourself is the most important thing. You have to feel good about yourself at the beginning, middle and end of any changes you might make in your life.
Don’t let anyone ever hold you down. You control your life, don’t give anyone else the satisfaction.
One of my favorite quotes
“Make new mistakes”
Pure and simple – Don’t be afraid to try new things, and if it fails. at least you tried!
‘The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.’ Psalm 45:11 If He who created me is enthralled with the beauty He sees…then I need to accept who I am and love myself!
I learned to eat foods that make me feel good, and that I have control over my cravings, they don’t control me!
That, you know you better than anybody else, you know what’s good / bad / or whatever for you, and only you can listen to you!
“What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail.”
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” albert einstein
