Bad Weed

June 26, 2009

IMG_7967

Who says we don’t have a green thumb??? LOL :D

Have you ever seen a bigger weed!?

Last night Eric thought he’d scare our friend Mary…

IMG_7969

Down to the woods it went!

IMG_7972 IMG_7973

Someone challenged me to put up a sweaty post-workout pic of myself, seeing as I am now embracing my post-exercise appearance and all.

And of course I was up for the challenge!

IMG_4128

For some weird reason, my face wasn’t nearly as red today as it usually gets when I workout! Usually I am a BEET. So picture this image only 10 shades darker. lol.

Did I mention that it is HOT this week? lol. Does anyone else find sweating it out in an intense workout session to feel really cleansing? I don’t know why it is, but I feel so awesome after sweaty workouts (even more so after a nice cold shower!). I have never been one to like saunas or steam rooms though.

I was going to go for a run today, but then I decided to ‘save’ my run for Saturday morning! I always love running on Saturdays and I knew if I ran today I wouldn’t be able to run tomorrow (I try not to run 2 days in a row if I can).

The workout:

  • Duration: 50 mins
  • Incline 15%, speed 4.0 mph
  • Max heart rate: 167 bpm
  • Avg heart rate: 149 bpm
  • Distance: 3.25 miles

Since it was so hot today, I got off the treadmill every 10 mins and guzzled water. I also did some core moves to mix things up a little. I did 2 sets of raised side planks on each side for approx. 45 seconds each side. Generally, I do one to two core moves per night before bed and I usually forget to mention it!

Oh and for the record- yesterday was an OFF day! After baking all day long and spending 10 hours in the 95F kitchen I was in no mood to workout!

+++++++++++++

I am still having fun with my…errr…Eric’s camera… ;)

IMG_7981

I threw myself a little ‘Happy Hour’ this Friday morning. :D

IMG_7983

In today’s amazing mix:

  • 1 cup plus 1/4 cup low-fat soy milk
  • 4 cups spinach
  • 4 ice cubes
  • Amazing Grass Berry Powder
  • Scoop of Hemp-Maca-E3Live powder
  • 1/3 cup cantaloupe
  • handful blueberries
  • 4 ice cubes

GLORIOUS!!!!

Sketchie pics of the day…

As you can see we didn’t declaw him (I have the scars to show for it too!):

IMG_8004

Because he has 7th generation Asian Leopard in him, his claws are MUCH thicker than a regular domestic cat. And they hurt like a b*tch. He also freaks out when we try to clip his nails, so they are usually very long! Thank God for his scratching post!

 IMG_8011

As you can see, his favourite room in the house is the pink and green living room! I wonder what he will think of it once it is renovated?

IMG_8019

He loves licking his tummy!

This is a great post and I enjoyed it all! From you with a sweaty face to sketchie licking his tummy … so adorable, including you!
I had a nice sweaty workout today and it got me all back to my normal unbloated self. I can’t tell you how much I love sweating … I don’t sweat much under normal conditions so when I work out I embrace sweating because it feels soooo good. if only i wasn’t so sore!!!
Green monster pics are fab and the one with the sky in the background is glorious! i hate living in an apt, i would have so many amazing green monster pics if i had my own place still :(

ps-your banner? amazing picture too. wow ange, i’m jealous :)

oh i forgot to mention about sketchie — both our cats are not declawed also. it’s so painful for them and like you said… thank goodness for scratching posts! but they do hurt when they “play” with you, haha.

Haha that is the biggest weed I have ever seen! :D

And woah girl, you really work yourself hard, huh? Even without the red face I can tell, and I only mean that in the nicest way, you still look pretty while sweaty:). How do you push yourself to that point? I find when I my body gets that hot I tend to hold back.

Sweat seshes are the best! With my running hiatus, I was mostly swimming and doing weights. But occasionally I just feel the NEED to SWEAT! Even 20 minutes on the stairmaster can make me sweat buckets and I feel so great!

My face goes so red too it actually worries people sometime! My Mom is always like “Leah you need to take it easy your face is so red!” One night I stopped in at Steve’s Moms for a drink of water and she ended up calling our house later to make sure I made it home on my run. She said she was worried bc my face was so red haha!! It didn’t help that it was so hot outside!

You must get a wicked workout on the hill inclines!!! I really need to start doing them I think!

I adore your cat!! Keep posting his photos! :) I love to sweat it out too and in this hot and humid Singapore weather, there’s no way you don’t sweat after working out outside! I did a green monster (my first) last week. It didn’t look as green as yours, probably because I didn’t add enough spinach hehe.

I know you are going to think this is so weird, but have you thought about putting your weeds in your green smoothies? If you have dandelions and purslane those are edible. I think that was a big dandelion leaf but I could be wrong. :) It looks yummy though! :)

I LOVE having a good sweat, it does feel invigorating and I always feel very accomplished afterward. whoa, pretty soon that weed would have taken over :) I wanted to ask you about the amazing grass powder. I recently tried the chocolate meal and I just had that mixed with some almond milk, but it really tasted like dirt to me. Would the berry flavored one taste better on its own or is it best to add other things like fruit/peanut butter to it? I still drank it, but I had to add some more fruit. Where did you get sketchie? He is so beautiful! I am looking into bringing a new kitty home. Have a great weekend!
