Who says we don’t have a green thumb??? LOL :D
Have you ever seen a bigger weed!?
Last night Eric thought he’d scare our friend Mary…
Down to the woods it went!
Someone challenged me to put up a sweaty post-workout pic of myself, seeing as I am now embracing my post-exercise appearance and all.
And of course I was up for the challenge!
For some weird reason, my face wasn’t nearly as red today as it usually gets when I workout! Usually I am a BEET. So picture this image only 10 shades darker. lol.
Did I mention that it is HOT this week? lol. Does anyone else find sweating it out in an intense workout session to feel really cleansing? I don’t know why it is, but I feel so awesome after sweaty workouts (even more so after a nice cold shower!). I have never been one to like saunas or steam rooms though.
I was going to go for a run today, but then I decided to ‘save’ my run for Saturday morning! I always love running on Saturdays and I knew if I ran today I wouldn’t be able to run tomorrow (I try not to run 2 days in a row if I can).
The workout:
- Duration: 50 mins
- Incline 15%, speed 4.0 mph
- Max heart rate: 167 bpm
- Avg heart rate: 149 bpm
- Distance: 3.25 miles
Since it was so hot today, I got off the treadmill every 10 mins and guzzled water. I also did some core moves to mix things up a little. I did 2 sets of raised side planks on each side for approx. 45 seconds each side. Generally, I do one to two core moves per night before bed and I usually forget to mention it!
Oh and for the record- yesterday was an OFF day! After baking all day long and spending 10 hours in the 95F kitchen I was in no mood to workout!
+++++++++++++
I am still having fun with my…errr…Eric’s camera… ;)
I threw myself a little ‘Happy Hour’ this Friday morning. :D
In today’s amazing mix:
- 1 cup plus 1/4 cup low-fat soy milk
- 4 cups spinach
- 4 ice cubes
- Amazing Grass Berry Powder
- Scoop of Hemp-Maca-E3Live powder
- 1/3 cup cantaloupe
- handful blueberries
- 4 ice cubes
GLORIOUS!!!!
Sketchie pics of the day…
As you can see we didn’t declaw him (I have the scars to show for it too!):
Because he has 7th generation Asian Leopard in him, his claws are MUCH thicker than a regular domestic cat. And they hurt like a b*tch. He also freaks out when we try to clip his nails, so they are usually very long! Thank God for his scratching post!
As you can see, his favourite room in the house is the pink and green living room! I wonder what he will think of it once it is renovated?
He loves licking his tummy!
We have a SGBC BANNER! :)

I love how I feel after a truly good sweat, when your clothes are soaked all the way through. It DOES feel cleansing…I do still like the steam room (never got into saunas) but it couldn’t possibly replace exercise sweat.
Love the Sketchie pics, my boy cat poses the same way when he cleans his tummy. I love taking pics of him doing that, we call it his Al Bundy pose (from the 80’s sitcom Married with Children). LOL.
OMG That is exactly what we say!!! It reminds me so much of Al Bundy!!! hahaha Glad I’m not the only one !A
Yikes! That is one heck of a weed. Glad the manly man was able to take care of that thing! ;)
Loving that green monster mixture. Blueberries and cantaloupe = PERFECT additions.
xxoo

You have the most adorable cat ever!
I love sweating during a great workout! Its the only way I feel it really working. You are gorgeous even when you sweat girl!!
Sketchie is one of the most beautiful cats I have ever seen! And that pic of him licking his tummy…so adorable!!!
Now I want a green monster…
I totally know what you mean about the feeling cleansed after a good work out sweat. I may not look all that attractive, but I feel great after, hehe.
I just did a hill workout outside pushing a double jogging stroller! whoo hoo! let me tell you- that was one cleansing run! i was having an off day with the kids and i didn’t want to run. After that workout I felt so awesome!
Cleansing workouts are the best!
Holy crap that’s a funny picture of your cat licking the tummy….WHO ME?!?!?!
Your cat is *so* gorgeous! You captured its expression so perfectly.
When I bike inside my house, I start dripping sweat on the floor because we usually don’t turn on the AC until July/August… I sweat a lot though ^^
I love sweating too! It’s funny because last year I was scared to join a gym because I didn’t want people to see me sweat. Now I’m like “look how hard I’m working!” I love it. lol
You’re awesome for embracing the post-workout sweat!
Way to work it out and sweat it out! :D :D :D
I remember you commenting about keeping your head down while walking out of the gym … I too, used to do this. Now that my gym has become more like home, it’s easier for me to bare my shiney forehead to the world. I’m not ashamed of my many sweat towels! Thanks for posting that HOT pic!
;]
Our cat freaks when we cut his nails too. So… we don’t! haha. We did get these things your put over their nails so they can’t hurt you and he chewed them all off within a few minutes. Our dogs always have tons of scars and scratches on them from him!
Glad to hear someone else’s face gets the color of …can’t think of anything clever…REALLY RED! I always want to tell the people around me, “I’m ok! I promise I’m not gonna pass out!”
And that last picture of Sketchie is hilarious!
bahahhaha love the weed surprise pictures..very very funny…also love sketchy pics! Man..that cat is a little sccccccary lol
I would LOVE if you had an online ordering page on your website..I would use it ;)
Your cat is gorgeous!!
My face is always blotchy and red when I’m done with my workouts, too. That is a heck of a sweat you worked up, but doesn’t it feel good?
You go girl!!! You look beautiful and well, glowing in your post-exercise pic, rock on!
Thank you for remembering us gluten free gidgets!
I love a good sweaty workout! It feels amazing, and I love guzzling water afterwards to replenish :)
Your happy hour this morning looks extra pretty today!
Hi Angela
Just wanted to let you know that I put a link to your blog on my recent blog post since I talked about why I am a vegetarian, and the benefits of a veggie diet, since it relates to your post about food and cancer.
Please check it out if you like! :) Have a great weekend!
Val
You look fab post-workout! And thank goodness for NOT declawing Sketchie!
I hope I will be able to post my new favorite plank-up ab toner tomorrow. After 3 days of doing it I started to see a difference!
