Good evening!
It was really difficult for Eric and I to narrow down all of the wonderful entries for the Chocolate filled giveaway contest where I asked all of you to offer suggestions for fundraising.
In case you forgot, here is a snippet of the contest:
“Give me an idea of how I can fundraise for my first running race this summer. The idea should likely involve Oh She Glows and/or Glo Bakery in some way for advertising and spreading the word. Think about the idea’s effectiveness in terms of how creative/original it is, what would motivate people to participate or what their incentive would be, and how the word would be spread, online and offline. Please note that I am fundraising for the Canadian Cancer Society.”
Winner: All entries will be verified to ensure that the two steps above have been completed. Once this is verified, I will narrow down the ideas to 5 and then all of you will VOTE on the winner who has the best idea for a fundraising campaign.
There were so many great ideas we just couldn’t narrow it down to 5 submissions! We got it down to 6 and now it is your turn to decide who the winner should be!
I present to you the 6 entries we thought were the most original in terms of the challenge above:
Siobhan says, “You could sell Oh She Glows t-shirts (with a daffodil to represent your cause) and hold a contest giveaway for the first 3 people from each state/province to take a picture wearing your shirt in an organized walk or run in their state. It would be a fun way to see how widespread your fanbase is!”
Jvegegirl says, “Create an "Oh She Glows Bundle" full of all the favorite items regularly seen on this blog, and hold a raffle for it, with tickets given for certain donation amounts. Ask Humm foods to donate a free larabar to everyone who donates, too.”
Ashley says, “You could do a service auction where you and other bloggers offer up some things that you’re good at! This could include cooking/baking lessons, fitness or beauty consultations, nutritional advice, meal planning tips etc. They could be auctioned up to the highest bidder and those that are local could provide in person and if not it could be over the phone or via email.”
Jaime says, “Put together a gift basket of as many OSG Products as you can, along with some pre-packaged goodies….then offer a Silent Auction. To enter, people must donate via the online donation center and then email you to let you know who they are so you can track who donated what. Whoever donates the most wins!”
AmandaMoo says, “You have such a beautiful home, it makes sense to have an event where people pay at the door. You can advertise that you’ll have food created by you to eat as well as for sale for people to take home. You’ll make it known that the proceeds from the door are going directly to support your cause while the proceeds from sales will go partly to support your business with a percentage also donated to your cause.”
Brandi C says, “Have a recipe contest to see who can make the next healthy bar/cookie/cake/etc. to be sold on "Glo Bakery." Contestants have to pay to enter and the winner will recieve a very small portion of the profits from the sales of that item or they can just recieve recognition.”
There is no guarantee that I will chose the campaign that receives the most amount of votes, but there is a good chance! I have a couple personal favourites in the ideas above. :)
Please note, if there was a duplicate idea, I had to chose the person who submitted the idea first (I went by date and time of comment).
The polls are open, so have your say!!
Polls close Wednesday April 15th at 8pm EST.
Thank you to EVERYONE who participated. You are all so creative!
