Today, I’m excited to reveal the U.S. cover of my cookbook at long last! Many of you have already come across this cover on Amazon.com as it’s been up there for a while now, but of course, I wanted to reveal it on the blog too. I found this gorgeous bunch of rainbow carrots at a local market earlier this year and I was dying to take photos of it. At the time, I had no idea this carrot photo would be selected for the cover – or turn into one of my favourite side dish recipes in the book. I can’t wait for you to see the “after” photo and recipe inside the book. I may or may not have inhaled the entire pan shortly after the photo shoot. Well, that applies to pretty much every recipe. Anyway, I love how vibrant and unique this cover is and I think it’s going to really pop off the shelf.
Why two covers?
Some of you asked why we have two different covers, so I thought I’d take a moment to explain the process today. I’m lucky to have two publishers behind this book. My Canadian publisher, Penguin, and my American publisher, Avery (which is an imprint of The Penguin Group), had different visions for my cover which is why we have two. Penguin really wanted to showcase one of my recipe photos on the cover as you saw a few weeks ago, while Avery wanted something more abstract which would emphasize my focus on using whole food, plant-based ingredients. The Canadian cover is found on Amazon.ca and the American cover is on Amazon.com.
Overseas Availability?
I’ve also had some of you ask when the book will be available outside of North America. My publisher is currently in the process of trying to sell the rights to the book overseas, so hopefully I will have good news to report in the coming months. I don’t know if and when that might be though, but I will keep you posted! Amazon does ship to other countries, so that is always an option too.

Pre-orders:
Many of you have told me that you pre-ordered the book and I just wanted to take a moment to thank you. Pre-orders are a big deal in the publishing world because all of the pre-orders count toward the first week of book sales (that is, the release week), increasing an author’s chances of getting on a best seller list. Pre-orders also help publishers predict what kind of numbers to expect during the initial release and help sell the book to other retailers. So in other words, your pre-orders make a huge impact and I greatly appreciate each and every one of you who have taken the time to do so!
For all the pre-ordering info, see here.
Ok, if you have made it this far, bless your soul. Enough book talk.
Can we talk a bit about the holidays? I’m having a hard time grasping that it’s nearing the end of November. This year has flown by. Is anyone doing any holiday meal planning? I’m toying with the idea of creating a 3-course vegan holiday menu, step-by-step, featuring some old and some new recipes. A complete holiday menu, vegan styles. I’m thinking a salad to start, 1 main, 2 sides, and a dessert, all holiday themed of course. Many dishes made the day before. Would this be useful? Am I insane? Let me know. :)

Hi Angela,
I’ve placed your book in my cart. Looking forward to receiving it early next year. I am interested in all your menu posts. I hope this year’s menu includes some pumpkin.
Dear Angela: I just put my pre-order on Amazon! So happy to support your book since you’ve been supporting us with all your delicious recipes – so grateful :)
Sincerely, Valerie
Congratulations on your book!!! I hope it’s a best seller! I’ve never pre-ordered anyting before. If I do, will it show up in the mail on the release date?
Hey, congrats on the lovely American cover! Surely both versions are going to be a hit. :) You are most assuredly NOT insane, at least re: the make-ahead menu. I’ve been planning the menu for weeks now since this is my first attempt at a completely plant-based Thanksgiving! I’m going to try making your Lentil Mushroom Walnut Balls into a loaf (but with regular gravy, because we’re regular-gravy people) so we still get that ‘carving’ feeling of cutting something and portioning it out. I’m still relatively new to your site, but your posts are fun and all the recipes I’ve seen look marvelous. It’s so easy to get strapped for time around the holidays; some make-ahead ideas for the feast would be very welcome! Thanks for sharing!
pre-ordered!! can’t wait for it to arrive.
A Christmas menu would be much appreciated :)
So happy to be able to pre-order this book! Thank you for your words and recipes. You will never know how much you have done to help me with my own journey.
Congrats!! How awesome!! The cover looks great! I would definitely love to see your Holiday Guide!! xoxoxo
I’d love it if you did a few posts on healthy/easy/fast (read: 5 ingredient) dishes. Things pick up for me in December, so a few fun/simple recipes would also be welcome. The kale salad you just posted looks fantastic, and I intend to make it.
Weeee! I’ve pre-ordered and am SO excited for the day it arrives at my house!!
I’d love more holiday receipes, please :)
As a fan from day one, I’m honestly so happy for you. I’ve looked up to you and your story helped me in the earliest days of my recovery 3 years ago. At 28 now, I can honestly say I’ve loved growing better as a person thanks to your blog and inspiration. I am so proud of you and can’t wait to pick up a copy of this!!:)
i would love a holiday menu guide. This is my first holiday season as a vegan and can use all the help i can get. thanks for everything you do!
I would love a holiday menu! Please do.
You know, to hold us over till March. ;-)
Congratulations, and I can’t wait to see the entire book! While I’m not vegan, I find (oddly, sometimes!) that a lot of your recipes are perfect for my Paleo lifestyle. Looking forward to the book’s release.
Thanks Kate, I think you’ll be happy to know that I labeled all of my recipes in the book based on their allergy-friendly status – so there is a label for grain-free too! I worked really hard to create a variety of options. I also have a cookie with a grain-free option. :) Hope u enjoy!
So excited for you – I think I want to pre-order, but I just was wondering if there are many oil free recipes, or ones where it can easily omitted.
Both covers are great, can’t wait to get one!
Yes, I would find that holiday menu very, very helpful! I’m hosting the family this year, and while they are all pleased to eat meat, I am planning to ensure it’s not necessary. I was brainstorming about the Christmas Day menu yesterday, and my problem actually was TOO MANY ideas! Sometimes it’s nice just to have someone tell me what to do. :-)
Top of my Christmas wish-list…your book!
Probably my favorite thing I grew in my garden this year was carrots like that! They never looked as beautiful as those, but the multitude of colors made harvesting them an exciting adventure every day: never knew which color would come up from the ground!! I am definitely growing multi-colored carrots in all future gardens.
SO excited about the release of your book next year! Congratulations! Can’t wait to celebrate it. Happy holidays.
Congratulations, Angela! Your book is gorgeous (just like you!) and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
I can’t wait!
your cookbook = my shelf!
